God’s 4th month, Tammuz 25, 5776: 7/31/16: To followers of Jesus.

Naïve thinking like Cain’s begins when God’s Word isn’t respected. When people don’t grasp that God’s rules are given because He loves His created people. When people don’t understand that God’s set aside designated times, “Seasons and Sabbaths” foreshadow His planning for their and the world’s saving. When people don’t realize that God loved us, “the called” first, thus He gives His commandments and reveals His Way. People whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, are called to be spiritual Israelites. A chosen people as Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, (meaning, “God fights.“) When called and gifted to believe these truths, “believing IN faith creates in us the desire to be at one with our Creator.”

The religious world don’t understand that Jesus is our Creator, that God the Father’s creation is through God the Son. See John 1:1-5, Colossians 1:15-20 and Heb 1:.

(John 12:44-50; “But Jesus shouted out, “The one who believes IN Me does not believe in Me, but in the One who sent Me, and the one who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes IN Me should not remain in darkness. If anyone hears “understands” My words and does not obey them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world. The one who rejects Me and does not accept My Words has a judge; the Word I have spoken will judge him at the last day. For I have not spoken from My own authority, but the Father Himself who sent Me has commanded Me what I should say and what I should speak. (50) And I know that His commandment is eternal life. Thus the things I say, I say just as the Father has told Me.”)) Eternal life is to those gifted to understand His love and thus know, “His commandment is eternal life.” Because He loves us, He tells us what is right, wrong, good and evil. But our inherited from Adam nature wants to choose for self what is right, wrong, good and evil. choosing the later is idolatry, “in God’s view.”

From Adam we each inherited a disobedient self serving will that must be turned from. Because of Adam and Eve’s not, “believing IN” we all inherited their nature that leads to death. It’s likely that Adam and Eve knew and shared this with their children. One son chose obedience, the other decided for himself, how and what sacrifices God should be pleased with. Trusting his fleshly intellect, Cain decided for himself what was right, wrong, good, evil.

Until God calls and reveals Himself to us individually, we naturally choose from what we have been taught, nurtured by our inherited nature. When God calls, opens our understanding, “reveals His love and characteristics” we obey from a love of God view. A gifted inner desire to be at one with Him. Cain and Abel’s thinking are our examples. (see Genesis 4:)

When we have the inclination to look around at the world at large; we can see that the whole world has gone the way of Cain. Even Jacob’s “Israel’s” descendents before and after Moses; chose to go the way of Cain, after observing the pleasures of sin. Moses was commanded to speak on behalf of God to the Israelites and our inherited nature.

Deut 4:9-13; “Again, however, pay very careful attention, lest you forget the things you have seen and disregard them for the rest of your life; instead teach them to your children and grandchildren. You stood before the Lord your God at Horeb and He said to me, “Assemble the people before Me so that I can tell them My commands. Then they will learn to revere Me all the days they live in the land, and they will instruct their children.” (11) You approached and stood at the foot of the mountain, a mountain ablaze to the sky above it and yet dark with a thick cloud. Then the Lord spoke to you from the middle of the fire; you heard speech but you could not see anything – only a voice was heard. (13) And God revealed to you the covenant He has commanded you to keep, “the ten commandments” writing them on two stone tablets. Moreover, at that same time the Lord commanded me to teach you statutes and ordinances for you to keep in the land which you are about to enter and possess.”))

The world’s populations had all gone the way of Cain. God’s chosen Israelites were offered a covenant between He and themselves. A covenant they were unable to keep from within that inherited from Adam nature. Their history is our example.

Since Jesus came as The Light and Life, revealing Himself as the Son of God to individuals, He explained the necessity of a nature change. A peculiar people for His name sake. Jesus explained the workings of that nature change to Nicodemus.

(John 3:5-8; “Jesus answered, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’ The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”))

A time likened to that Pentecost after Jesus’ ascension is coming, a time when all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved, a time when Satan is bound, a time when Jesus and His Saints are ruling. (In this and the next age to come, many will be born of the spirit by the foolishness of preaching, “teaching God’s Way.” Allow Paul’s teaching.

(1 Cor 1:18-21; “For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.” Where is the wise man? Where is the expert in the Mosaic law? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.”))

By the foolishness of sharing words of truth, “preaching” God opens understanding and grants repentance. The wisdom of this world amounts to people going the way of Cain. People deciding for themselves; “thus people making themselves as deities to themselves.” The cleverness of demonic led intellectuals has turned this world’s populations into idolatrous unbelievers.

(1 Cor 1:22; “For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom, but we, “apostles” preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.”))

The truth of Jesus Christ being crucified, demonstrates why it was incumbent that the very Son of God sacrifice Himself in order to remit the sins of the world. The One whose life was pure, sinless, more valuable than all others combined, shed His blood so that people’s sins could be remitted. Even the blood sacrifice, Abel made, was foreshadowing of Jesus’ blood sacrifice for the remission of sins. The blood sacrifices commanded in Moses’ time, were foreshadowing the ultimate sacrifice of the very Son of God.

Covenant differences.

The Old Covenant was between God and a physically called out people. The New Covenant is between God and a spiritually called out people. The mystery to the world is that God puts a new nature in spiritually called out people, He chooses. Making them at one with Himself. Again allow Paul’s teaching.

(1 Cor 1:24-31; “But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position. (27) But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong. God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something, so that no one can boast in His presence. (30) He, “God the Father” is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”))

Our only boasting should be to other called out individuals and in our internal thinking, “that it is by God’s mercy we are who we are in Christ.” Never boast to unbelievers and so called intellectuals, they go the way of Cain. Living the way that seems right to the fleshly mind, with demonic help.

(2 Peter 2:1-2;” But false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies, even to the point of denying the Master who bought them. As a result, they will bring swift destruction on themselves. And many will follow their debauched lifestyles. Because of these false teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.”)) Unbelievers cannot grasp the fact that there is, “a Way of Truth and a Way of Life.”

(2 Peter 2:3; “And in their greed they will exploit you “make merchandise of you” with deceptive words. Their condemnation pronounced long ago is not sitting idly by; their destruction is not asleep.”))

Before Adam’s creation, God knew He would allow Satan’s purpose, ‘working on unbelievers’ from the beginning, to the end of this and the next age.

Peter prophesies of Satan’s coming demise.

(2 Peter 2:4-10; “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but threw them into hell “the pit” and locked them up in chains in utter darkness, to be kept until the, “final” judgment, and if He did not spare the ancient world, but did protect Noah, a herald of righteousness, along with seven others, when God brought a flood on an ungodly world, and if He turned to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah when He condemned them to destruction, having appointed them to serve as an example to future generations of the ungodly, and if He rescued Lot, a righteous man in anguish over the debauched lifestyle of lawless men, (8) (for while he lived among them day after day, that righteous man was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard) – if so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials, and to reserve the unrighteous for punishment at the day of judgment, especially those who indulge their fleshly desires and who despise authority.”))

Prophecies of things yet to be are sometimes written in past tense, because God’s Word is certain. The record of the Noah time flood, Sodom and Gomorra’s destruction is for our and future generations of the ungodly.

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 24, 5776: 7/30/16: To followers of Jesus, happy Sabbath.

Jesus said; “If I have told you people about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?” my words from John 3:9-12))

Eternal Life, gifted to Believers IN.

How can we believe, if we are told heavenly things? We must be, “born from above!”

(John 3:13-15; “No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven – the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes IN Him may have eternal life.”)) Eternal life is gifted by promise to those, “born from above.” The evidence of Believing IN HIM is, “a desire change, a nature change that despises this world’s system of things and loves Jesus’ Way.” God’s spirit compels a turning from our fleshly inherited nature. Repentance for having lived according to what seemed right to what God says is right.

(John 3:16-21; “For this is the way God loved the world: He gave His One and only Son, so that everyone who believes IN Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. The one who believes IN Him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed IN the name of the One and only Son of God.”

(19-21; “Now this is the basis for judging: that The Light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil deeds hates The Light and does not come to The Light, so that their deeds will not be exposed. But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God.”)) Practicing the truth? A particular way of living practice that makes it evident that our trust is in God. Jesus inspired His apostle Paul to expand on this subject of “truth living.”

(2 Corinthians 2:14-17; “But thanks be to God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and who makes known through us the fragrance that consists of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we, “followers” are a sweet aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishingto the latter an odor from death to death, but to the former a fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? For we, “followers of Jesus” are not like so many others, hucksters who peddle the word of God for profit, but we are speaking in Christ before God as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God.”)) “AMBASSADORS.” It does not take a rocket science mentality to discern that the many and various religions are making merchandise of their parishioners.

The Christian life is, “fragrance, and aroma of Christ!” Not only was Paul and Peter Believers IN Jesus, they were gifted with spiritual comprehension, “understanding.” The apostles’ purpose in Christ was to lead called out people in every age.”

(2 Peter 1:12-15; “Therefore, I intend to remind you constantly of these things even though you know them and are well established in The Truth that you now have. Indeed, as long as I am in this tabernacle, I consider it right to stir you up by way of a reminder, since I know that my tabernacle will soon be removed, because our Lord Jesus Christ revealed this to me. Indeed, I will also make every effort that, after my departure, you have a testimony of these things.”)) By faith Abel still speaks. “see Heb 11:4.” Through faith Noah condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. “see Heb 11:7.” 11:9 By faith Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Jacob lived as foreigners in the promised land as though it were a foreign country, and were heirs of the promise, looking forward to the city with firm foundations, whose architect and builder is God. “see Heb 11:9-10.” Likewise, followers of Jesus in this age are as foreigners in a strange country. These and many others have left their testimony. Jesus’ apostles made every effort to have their revelations preserved. Remember, Jesus’ apostles’ were sent to those called to be Believers IN.

Jesus inspired Peter and Paul to write lengthy letters to His, “born from above people.” Each apostle’s examples and teaching were for the purpose of preserving the Saints FOR the kingdom of God. (We should know that, even people, “born from above” needed to be stirred up, to continue practicing Jesus’ Way among unbelieving societies.)

(2 Peter 1:16; “For we “apostles” did not follow cleverly concocted fables when we made known to you the power and return of our Lord Jesus Christ; no, we were eyewitnesses of His grandeur.”)) Jesus’ power and return are major parts of His good news!

(2 Peter 1:17-19; “For Jesus received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed to Him by the Majestic Glory: “This is My dear Son, in whom I am delighted.” When this voice was conveyed from heaven, we, “three apostles, James, John and Peter” ourselves heard it, for we were with Jesus on the holy mountain. (19) Moreover, we “apostlespossess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attention to this as you would to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”)) We need to hold to what we have, pray and wait for revelation.

(2 Peter 1:20-21; “Above all, you do well if you recognize this: “No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination, for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”)) Much prophecy is yet to be fulfilled. A large portion is for this latter age and Jesus’ millennial reign.

(2 Peter 2:1-3; “But false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies, even to the point of denying the Master who bought them. As a result, they will bring swift destruction on themselves. (2) And many will follow their debauched lifestyles. Because of these false teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their condemnation pronounced long ago is not sitting idly by; their destruction is not asleep.”))

Satan’s lie about people born with immortal souls and today’s prominent lie about creation, has resulted in many divided religions, using Jesus’ name with messages of their own making. People are blinded to the fact that, “believing IN Jesus” is to love, seek His Way, abandon the way that seemed right to the fleshly mind and this world‘s system of things. Satan has blinded the minds of the worldly educated. God is allowing Satan to be the god of this age, until Jesus’ return and he is bound. Satan knows his fate and is becoming more aggressive in this latter age. People are blinded to the fact that worldly religions, including Christianity, are practicing sun, planetary, reproductive, fertility and sexual worship, as was practiced before the flood. Once before God removed, nations practicing such and gave their lands to Israel. Nothing has changed in this modern world. Except that Satan has inspired religions to use Jesus’ name, in a mix of old paganism. Jesus’ revelations to His apostle John, are being revealed to His followers! Jesus revealed and John wrote.

(Revelations 12:7-18; “Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But the dragon was not strong enough to prevail, so there was no longer any place left in heaven for him and his angels. (9) So that huge dragon – the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world – was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, “The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the ruling authority of His Christ, have now come, because the accuser of our brothers and sisters, the one who accuses them day and night before our God, has been thrown down. (11) But they “people born from above” overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they, “people born from above” did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die. Therefore you heavens rejoice, and all who reside in them! (“But woe to the earth and the sea because the devil has come down to you! He is filled with terrible anger, for he knows that he only has a little time!”) (13) Now when the dragon realized that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman (church?) who had given birth to the male child. But the woman, “church.?) was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, to the place God prepared for her, where she is taken care of – away from the presence of the serpent – for a time, times, and half a time. (15) Then the serpent spouted water like a river out of his mouth after the woman in an attempt to sweep her away by a flood, but the earth came to her rescue; the ground opened up and swallowed the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth. (17) So the dragon became enraged at the woman and went away to make war on the rest of her children, those who keep God’s commandments and hold to the testimony about Jesus. And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore.”))

Satan and his demons are powerful spirit beings. Demonic spirits able to enter the minds of arrogant people, who trust their own intellect. These worldly educated are persecutors of Jesus’ followers. Many Christians are going to be protected and many will give their lives for the testimony of Jesus. Followers of Jesus are those who have The testimony and keep God’s commandments.

The worldly educated for the most part, are naïve about spiritual truths, in part because of confidence in their own fleshly intellect. Which when trusted, “is idolatry.” The many are yielding to their gullible inherited from Adam, instinctive nature. That nature Satan was able to use in his deceptive lies to Eve and Adam. See Genesis 3:.

Adam was very intellectual, his Creator even gave him the ability to name all the animals. Lacking was a believing IN spirit desire to be obedient. Lacking was the gifted spirit of Oneness with their Creator. (Likely, it was after they disobeyed that the Son of God instituted blood sacrifices, that looked forward to His own blood sacrifice for the remission of the world’s sins.) Cain thought to sacrifice as seemed right to himself, while Abel obediently did a blood sacrifice.

(Gen 4:2-7; “Abel took care of the flocks, while Cain cultivated the ground. At the designated time, Cain brought some of the fruit of the ground for an offering to the Lord. (4) But Abel brought some of the firstborn of his flock – even the fattest of them. And the Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering, but with Cain and his offering He was not pleased. So Cain became very angry, and his expression was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why is your expression downcast? (7) Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. It, “Sin” desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.”))

Comparing scripture to scripture we have a good idea as to when the designated time for sacrifice was. Never the less, Cain thought to sacrifice from a self serving point of view, while Abel sacrificed as commanded. Thus, even though dead, “Abel still speaks.”

Naïve thinking like Cain’s begins when God’s Word isn’t respected. When people don’t grasp that God’s rules are given because He loves His created people. When people don’t understand that God’s set aside designated times, “Sabbaths” foreshadow His planning for their and the world’s saving. When people don’t realize that God loved us first, thus He gave His commandments and reveals His Way. When gifted to believe these truths, “that believing IN faith creates in us the desire to be at one with our Creator.”

1st & 2nd Peter, supporting text and commentary, chapter 20

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 23, 5776: 7/29/16: To followers of Jesus.

Peter and each apostle described themselves as Elders and witnesses of Jesus Christ’s teaching and suffering. Never did they allow themselves to be called, “Reverend, Rabbi or teacher.” (Matt 23:8-12; “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher and you are all brothers. And call no one your ‘father’ on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you will be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”))

(1 Peter 5:1-4; “So as your fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings and as one who shares in the glory that will be revealed, I urge the elders among you: Give a shepherd’s care to God’s flock among you, exercising oversight not merely as a duty but willingly under God’s direction, not for shameful profit but eagerly. And do not lord over those entrusted to you, but be examples to the flock. Then when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that never fades away .”))

Remember, Peter did witness Jesus’ suffering and His glory that is going to be revealed to the world. Peter will be with Jesus when He returns.

(1 Peter 5:5-11; “In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under His mighty hand, by casting all your cares on Him because He cares for you. Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour. (9) Resist him, strong in your faith, because you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are enduring the same kinds of suffering. And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to His eternal glory in Christ will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. (11) To Him belongs the power forever. Amen.”))

Clothing ones self, being immersed in Christ, “each, have the meaning of being totally yielded to His Way.” No present day teacher can improve on, or give out this message better that Peter already has. Being called out to be a Believer IN; is a sobering thing to contemplate. We should meditate on Jesus’ Words through Peter. Consider Jesus’ followers, who are His enemies and be mindful of the difficulties many are having. Luke and Matthew recorded Jesus’ Words on this subject.

(Matthew 10:34-36; “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.”)) Consider too, “God has His reasons for sometimes calling only one individual in a family.”

(Matt 10:37-39; “Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And whoever does not take up his cross, “life’s practices” and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life because of Me will find it.”))

We followers of Jesus, “Christians” are called to mentally and spiritually leave this world’s system of things. Yield to Jesus’ spirit life in us, while practicing His Way.

(Matt 10:40-42; “Whoever receives you, “apostles” receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives the One, “God the Father” who sent Me. Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Whoever receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, I tell you the truth, he will never lose his reward.”)) Thank God for His planned resurrections, His righteous Ways and judgments.

(1 Peter 5:12-14; “Through Silvanus, whom I know to be a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, in order to encourage you and testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it. The church in Babylon, chosen together with you, greets you, and so does Mark, my son. Greet one another with a loving kiss. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.”))

Remember the apostles’ letters are to a people clothed with and immersed in Jesus. Peter’s first letter is sent out through Silvanus, his co-worker and a follower of Jesus. Mark and Luke worked with Paul, Barnabas and Peter. Mark wrote the gospel account titled, “Mark” “Luke” his gospel account so titled, and “the book of Acts.” Each of these had their particular talents and practiced the Way of righteousness for our example.

As a witness of Jesus’ life, persecutions, resurrection and ascension, Peter was truly a Believer IN. Peter believed IN Jesus’ stated purpose for having been sent from God the Father. Jesus did much through His servant Peter. Peter’s concern for fellow Christians was that they continue to grow in the rich grace and knowledge of God the Father and God the Son while loving one another fervently.

Second Peter

(2 Peter 1:1; “From Simeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, have been granted a faith just as precious as ours.”)) Peter’s expression that each Believer’s faith is granted and just as precious as each apostles’ is understanding we need to share.

(2 Peter 1:2; “May grace and peace be lavished on you as you grow in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord!”)) Peter’s prayer is answered as we study, proving all things and as knowledge of God the Father and God the Son increases. As knowledge of our Lord increase, more grace and peace is lavished. May we each be led to love the things God the Father and God the Son love and despise the things that are evil in God’s View.

(2 Peter 1:3; “I can pray this because His divine power has bestowed on us everything necessary for life and godliness through the rich knowledge of the One who called us by His own glory and excellence.”)) Jesus acknowledged that His Father did the calling. Consider a portion of Jesus’ prayer to His Father for His apostles and disciples.

(John 17:10-12; “Everything I have belongs to You, and everything You have belongs to Me, and I have been glorified by them. I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them safe in Your name that You have given Me, so that they may be one just as we are one. When I was with them I kept them safe and watched over them in Your name that You have given Me. Not one of them was lost except the one destined for destruction, so that the scripture could be fulfilled.”)) Note that God the Father does the calling and gives us to God the Son.

(2 Peter 1:4; “Through these things Jesus has bestowed on us His precious and most magnificent promises, so that by means of what was promised, you may become partakers of the divine nature, after escaping the worldly corruption that is produced by evil desire.” ))

Who is led to know that their inherited fleshly inner desires are evil? Only when we are, “born again” “born from above” “fathered by God” are we partakers of His divine nature. (Partakers of God’s divine nature is an inheritance by promise, through Jesus.) (We know we are growing in Christ like character when our desires are being changed. Changed from worldly self serving to desiring His righteous Ways.) At this point in our calling, “overcoming our self serving, inherited from Adam nature begins.” It is when work on self, through Jesus begins.

Intimacy with God the Father and God the Son.

(2 Peter 1:5-11; “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish love. (8) For if these things are really yours and are continually increasing, they will keep you from becoming ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately. (9) But concerning the one who lacks such things, he is blind. That is to say, he is nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins. Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to be sure of your calling and election. For by doing this you will never stumble into sin. For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.”))

Provided? “Made available.” Can one forget the cleansing of his past sins? Is it possible to turn back? YES. However the holy scripture’s strong indication is; “God disciplines His own.” God knows how to put and keep His Saints on His potter’s wheel.

(Heavenly Father: we prayerfully ask that You bring each reader into Your presence. We pray these words of truth be used to convert. Make us mindful of Your command to love one another fervently and please lead us away from evil, as You create in us the desire to be at one with Yourself. In Jesus’ holy name and nature we pray. AMEN.)

Jesus and each apostle taught that understanding spiritual truths is gifted. The desire to practice God’s Way is given by revelation. We can’s boast of having repented nor of spiritual knowledge, independent of revelation. Thus we knows our being saved is by promise. Jesus’ apostle Paul was led to explain.

Followers of Jesus, God the Father’s workmanship.

(Ephesians 2:8-10; “For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.”))

Each called out repentant individual is God’s workmanship, created to practice, “Christ like” good works. We were each born of water through our mother’s womb, each Believer IN Jesus is, “born of the spirit” “born from above” and being created in Jesus to do good works. This miraculously nature change, was explained to Nicodemus by Jesus.

(John 3:5-8; ““Jesus answered, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’ The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”))

Our nature change, “birth from above” is likened to the wind, in that we can’t understand where it came from or where it is going. Likewise with spiritual revelations. Followers of Jesus, are God’s workmanship! We don’t understand how or by what manner, but Jesus reveals the source. Jesus explained to Nicodemus that, “we who are spiritual speak about what we know and testify about what we have seen, but unbelieving people do not accept our testimony. “If I have told you people about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?” my words from John 3:9-12))

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 22, 5776: 7/28/16: To followers of Jesus.

The awesomeness of God the Father and our Creator, Originator of life, “Jesus” is beyond our natural mind’s ability to understand. Jesus’ physically resurrecting Lazarus, resurrecting Tabitha through Peter (see Acts 9:) and when Jesus was resurrected tombs opened, many resurrected Saints went out witnessing. (Matt 27:50-53; “Then Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit. Just then the temple curtain was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks were split apart. And tombs were opened, and the bodies of many Saints who had died were raised. (They came out of the tombs after His resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.) A much greater physical resurrection is prophesied.

(Ezek 37:; “The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and placed me in the midst of the valley, and it was full of bones. He made me walk all around among them. I realized there were a great many bones in the valley and they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said to Him, “Sovereign Lord, you know.” Then He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and tell them: ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. This is what the sovereign Lord says to these bones: Look, I am about to infuse breath into you and you will live. will put tendons on you and muscles over you and will cover you with skin; I will put breath in you and you will live. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

(37:7-8; So I prophesied as I was commanded. There was a sound when I prophesied – I heard a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to bone. As I watched, I saw tendons on them, then muscles appeared, and skin covered over them from above, but there was no breath in them.

(37:9-10; He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, – prophesy, son of man – and say to the breath: ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these corpses so that they may live.’” So I prophesied as I was commanded, and the breath came into them; they lived and stood on their feet, an extremely great army.

(37:11-14; Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Look, they are saying, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope has perished; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy, and tell them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I am about to open your graves and will raise you from your graves, My people. I will bring you to the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and raise you from your graves, My people. I will place My breath in you and you will live; I will give you rest in your own land. Then you will know that I am the Lord – I have spoken and I will act, declares the Lord.’”

37:15-20; The word of the Lord came to me: “As for you, son of man, take one branch, and write on it, ‘For Judah, and for the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another branch and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the branch of Ephraim and all the house of Israel associated with him.’ (17) Join them as one stick; they will be as one in your hand. When your people say to you, ‘Will you not tell us what these things mean?’ tell them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I am about to take the branch of Joseph which is in the hand of Ephraim and the tribes of Israel associated with him, and I will place them on the stick of Judah, and make them into one stick – they will be one in My hand.’ The sticks you write on will be in your hand in front of them.

(37:21-23; Then tell them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I am about to take the Israelites from among the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from round about and bring them to their land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over them all. They will never again be two nations and never again be divided into two kingdoms. (23) They will not defile themselves with their idols, their detestable things, and all their rebellious deeds. I will save them from all their unfaithfulness by which they sinned. I will purify them; they will become My people and I will become their God.

(37:24-28; “‘My servant David will be king over them; there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will follow My regulations and carefully observe My statutes. They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived; they will live in it – they and their children and their grandchildren forever. David My servant will be prince over them forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be a perpetual covenant with them. I will establish them, increase their numbers, and place My sanctuary among them forever. My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people. Then, when My sanctuary is among them forever, the nations will know that I, the Lord, sanctify Israel.’”))

Remember, Jacob’s name was changed to Israel, meaning, “God fights.” God’s awesome plan is to save all Israel, “physical and spiritual Israelites.” Review Galatians 3:29, (3:26-29; “For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female – for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. (29) And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.”))

Called to live it, now.

(1 Peter 4:7-11; “For the culmination of all things is near. So be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of prayer. Above all keep your love for one another fervent, because love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without complaining. Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of the varied grace of God. Whoever speaks, let it be with God’s words. Whoever serves, do so with the strength that God supplies, so that in everything God will be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.”))

Jesus’ apostles thought Jesus’ return would likely be in their life time. Until Jesus’ revelations, John probably thought the same. Each age has thought the end time was near, but NOW in these latter days the majority are scoffing at Jesus prophecies, as revealed to John, in the book, “Jesus’ revelations to John” and as Matthew quoted Him in chapter 24:. (Think of time as the scriptures reveal, God does. (2Peter 3:8; “Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice, that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like a single day.”) Persevere waiting is key.

Consider the Israelites waiting during their stay in Egypt. God’s promised deliverance was 430 years after leading Joseph to Egypt. Consider the time from when Jesus revealed His first coming to Moses, until He came in the flesh. The point, lets not loose hope and remember, “as it was in Sodom & Gomorra, so it will be before Jesus’ return.”

(1 Peter 4:12-15; “Dear friends, do not be astonished that a trial by fire is occurring among you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice in the degree that you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, so that when His glory is revealed you may also rejoice and be glad. (14) If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God, rests on you. (15) But let none of you suffer as a murderer or thief or criminal or as a troublemaker.”))

Practicing Jesus’ righteousness has always been opposite the way of this world’s system of things. Because God is allowing Satan to be the god of this age, “world” “this world’s demonic way.” Let us not be surprised when trials come, “as though something strange were happening.” The spirit that rest on Jesus and each follower opposes the demonic way, thus the spirit dominating the world, is our enemy.

(1 Peter 4:16-19; “But if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but glorify God that you bear such a name. For it is time for judgment to begin, starting with the house of God. And if it starts with us, what will be the fate of those who are disobedient to the gospel of God? And if the righteous are barely saved, what will become of the ungodly and sinners? So then let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls, “their being” to a faithful Creator as they do good.”))

This world’s demonic system of things appeals to the inherited nature in fleshly people. Worldly religions using Jesus’ name include a mix of the old pagan ways to their shame, “a mix God warns His people not to follow.” Thus the fulfillment of Jesus’ Words; “Watch out that no one misleads you. Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and they will mislead many.” Mark 13:6)

A disciplined Christian life of Godly love, sums up Peter’s teaching to the scattered Israelites. Peter said, “judgment begins at the house of God.” Begins with we called out Believers IN Jesus. Recipients of God’s gifted holy spirit, “immortality.” Empowering Believers with power to overcome, thus Peter’s words; (“For it is time for judgment to begin, starting with the house of God. And if it starts with us, what will be the fate of those who are disobedient to the gospel of God? And if the righteous are barely saved, what will become of the ungodly and sinners? So then let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator as they do good.” 1 Peter 4:17-19)

Peter was schooled with Jesus’ Words, recorded in Matthew’s 24th chapter and the prophet Daniel’s writings on the same subject. Because of persecutions and wars, Peter and fellow apostles thought Jesus’ return with righteous judgment would be in their life time. Long before Jesus had inspired His prophet Daniel’s writings. Many of the things revealed through Daniel, would later be revealed to His apostle John in, “Jesus’ Revelations to John.” (In Daniel’s chapter 12; he tells of a demonic led individual that would magnify himself above every deity and utter presumptuous things against our Creator.) This one is to have no respect for any and will elevate himself. He will apparently be able to give gold, silver, valuables and treasured commodities to followers. He will grant considerable honor to rulers and place them over many people, parceling out land for a price.

(Daniel 11:40-45; “At the time of the end, the king of the south will attack him. Then the king of the north will storm against him with chariots, horsemen, and a large armada of ships. He will invade lands, passing through them like an overflowing river. Then he will enter the beautiful land. Many will fall, but these will escape: Edom, Moab, and the Ammonite leadership. He will extend his power against other lands; the land of Egypt will not escape. He will have control over the hidden stores of gold and silver, as well as all the treasures of Egypt. Libyans and Ethiopians will submit to him. But reports will trouble him from the east and north, and he will set out in a tremendous rage to destroy and wipe out many. (45) He will pitch his royal tents between the seas toward the beautiful holy mountain. But he will come to his end, with no one to help him.”))

Many will yield themselves and worship this powerful individual, fulfilling Jesus’ revelations to John and His Words at Matthew 24:. Jesus gives us a good overview of how God plans to end this age of demonic rule and Jesus’ apostles were about the business of preparing followers of Jesus for such a time.

(Daniel 12:1-4; “At that time Michael, the great prince who watches over Your people,

will arise. There will be a time of distress unlike any other from the nation’s beginning up to that time. But at that time Your own people, all those whose names are found written in the book, will escape. Many of those who sleep in the dusty ground will awake – some to everlasting life, and others to shame and everlasting abhorrence. But the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenly expanse. And those bringing many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever. “But you, Daniel, close up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will dash about, and knowledge will increase.”))

Worldly and scientific knowledge has increased and information on most subjects is available to the whole world via the internet. But our populations are lackadaisical, love has waxed cold, people’s interest is in self serving entertainment and demonic practices.

The big question to thoughtful Believing IN, “God people” is; “how much longer until the God of Abraham; “the One who had Sodom & Gomorra destroyed” intervenes?

1st & 2nd Peter, supporting text and commentary, chapter 18

Wednesday, July 27th, 2016

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 21, 5776: 7/27/16: To followers of Jesus.

Peter‘s first letter is to scattered Israelites. We should remember that Jesus first sent His disciples to the ten lost tribes of Israel.

(1 Peter 1:3-5; “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, that is, into an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in heaven for you, who by God’s power are protected through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”)) We will know more about salvation during Jesus’ coming kingdom.

God gives His chosen, “new birth!” God calls and makes His chosen, “born from above.” We have this faith hope because Jesus promised and we know Jesus is resurrected from the dead. We followers of Jesus, “we believers IN“ have this inheritance reserved in heaven.” (God’s spirit in us, gives the power to understand our fleshly nature, understand the holy scriptures and overcome Satan’s demonic world system of things to the end. The power to develop Godly character.

(1 Peter 1:6-9; “This brings you, “followers of Jesus” great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials. Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold – gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away – and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. You. “followers of Jesus” have not seen Him, but you love Him. You do not see Him now but you believe IN Him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, because you are attaining the goal of your faith – the salvation of your souls.”)) God the Father reveals Jesus and Himself to the called in this age, “at His coming we will have greater revelations.

All people God calls are saved through their being gifted to believe IN Jesus. Thus, we live life depending on Jesus’ faith in us. His faith gives the initiative to obey and grow. People zeroing in on the belief, “once saved, always saved” are not as likely to work at overcoming the fleshly nature and this world’s demonic system of things. God’s called out people are given goals to attain.

Peter had seen and been with Jesus; but taught by revelation, mindful that those being taught had not seen Jesus. But gifted with revealed understanding. (Jesus’ Way and characteristics are revealed to those the Father calls.) In Peter’s next passage, he is revealing that he now understands who Jesus is. Revealing that his knowledge of Jesus surpasses that given to most of the prophets.

(1 Peter 1:10-12; “Concerning this salvation, the prophets who predicted the grace that would come to you searched and investigated carefully. They probed into what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when He testified beforehand about the sufferings appointed for Christ and His subsequent glory. (12) They “the prophets” were shown that they were serving not themselves but you, in regard to the things now announced to you through those who proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven – things angels long to catch a glimpse of.”))

We live in a glorious time. Spiritual knowledge has been increased and many of the last have become first. “Jesus said to the twelve “I tell you the truth: In the age when all things are renewed, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for My sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” Matt 19:28-30))

Peter understood that eternal life was to the chosen, and inherited through Jesus. No apostle ever taught that people are born to live forever someplace. But that immortality is gifted to the called, “a people gifted with a desire to obey out of love, “with the realization that God first loved them.” Each apostle taught the resurrections and it is revealed, the evil will die a second death. (see Revelations 2:11, 20:6, 20:14 & 21:8)

The idea that all are born immortal, babies, little children and believers go to heaven, while adult unbelievers go to an ever burning place of fire come from the depth of pagan theology, which comes from Satan’s lie.

We each need to pray for God’s discerning spirit. The spirit able to discern truth from error. This world’s concept of truth varies from country to country and people groups spouting their own theology. Omitting the fact that the holy scriptures teach that, “God is the Revealer.” The Revelator opening spiritual understanding to His chosen. A spiritual understanding beyond the grasp of fleshly, worldly minded people. Jesus’ followers ask, why He spoke in parables to the multitudes.

(Jesus said;” (Matt 13:13) “although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand.” (Parables both conceal and reveal, depending on whether one’s mind is opened miraculously to understanding what they teach.) (Jesus quoted what He had inspired Isaiah to write long before. See Isaiah 6:9-10)

Jesus went on to say. (Matt 13:14-17; ‘You will listen carefully yet will never understand, you will look closely yet will never comprehend. For the heart of this people has become dull; they are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes, so that they would not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’))

In view of the above truths, we need to consider Jesus’ definitions of an unbeliever. (a) One who Jesus has not revealed Himself to, one defining Jesus from their or some organization’s fleshly theoretical point of view. (b) One, not believing God created, or assuming God used evolution, for example. (c) One, trusting their own theory regarding the practices of righteous living, rather than God’s Word. (d) One not believing that Jesus’ holy seasons are set aside for our understanding, “That His Sabbaths are made for His people.”

Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for people, not people for the Sabbath. For this reason the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27-28) Jesus is not Lord of the first nor sixth day of the week, “Jesus is Lord of His set aside Sabbaths, weekly and annual.” People not believing these things are unbelievers, not understanding that only our Creator has the authority to define what is holy, right, wrong, good and evil. God the Father chooses who to call and reveal Himself and Jesus to.

To His followers Jesus said: “But your eyes are blessed because they see, and your ears because they hear. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.” Matt 13:16-17))

Jesus’ followers, back then and now are being given the gift of spiritual understanding. (The gift of believing IN! rather than theorizing, “a belief that.”) Before the Son of God “Jesus” was revealed individually, “we did not comprehend Jesus’ deity, His being The Creator and preplanning His shed blood for the remission of sin.

So it was, for the many who lived before and after the flood. Perhaps this is the reason Peter was inspired to tell us about the miraculous event of; “Jesus in the spirit, preaching to the spirits in prison, after they were disobedient long ago when God patiently waited in the days of Noah, as an ark was being constructed.” 1 Peter 3:19-20)

Many wrestle with Peter’s words in the above text; in part because it does not seem to square with his recorded words in Acts 2:, about David not having ascended. Nor with the fact that immortality, “eternal life” is inherited through Jesus. So, let’s consider the awesomeness of God in regard to His overall plan and whether or not we have need to know it all. (Let’s hang on to what we know; His revealed truths about His calling out a people in this age and His promises regarding His millennial rule.)

Peter’s subject in Acts 2: is, “Jesus and His sending the promised holy spirit.” David’s prophecy at Psalms 110:1, is also about Jesus. Peter continued speaking on that Pentecost, quoting David. (Acts 2:31-35; “David by foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, “grave” nor did His body experience decay.” This Jesus God raised up, and we are all witnesses of it. So then, exalted to the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out what you both see and hear.(34) For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says, ‘The Lord said to My lord, Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’)) Jesus’ apostle knew the old testament scriptures.

(Acts 2:36; “Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”

Resurrecting the dead for His purpose is God’s prerogative. Luke, Mark and Matthew recorded the event of Jesus, Moses and Elijah being transfigured and witnessed to by Peter, James and John. Jesus had said; “not many days from now some of you will see the kingdom of God.” (Matt 17:1-3; “Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain. And He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light. Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with Jesus.”))

This transfiguration and Peter’s telling us of Jesus’ preaching to the disobedient people who had lived before the flood, simply proves God’s awesomeness. Does not demonstrate that dead people who practiced disobedience before the flood are being punished at this time. But that Jesus revealed Himself to them.

We do have Jesus’ prophetic Word as evidence of Believers IN being saved and about unbeliever’s future resurrection and future judgment.

(Revelations 21:7-8; “The one who conquers “overcomes” will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. (8) But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, idol worshipers, and all those who lie, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. That is the second death.”))

The subject matter of Jesus’ revelations to John is about called out people overcoming to the end and being resurrected to eternal life. Find those words at the end of each letter Jesus sends to the seven churches. (see Rev 2 & 3) End time prophetic events, about Jesus’ returning with power, about Satan being bound, peace on earth, judgment, and New Jerusalem coming down. Peter’s teaching too, is teaching people to strive, overcome their inherited nature, resisting this world’s system of things and it’s demonic influences. Now back to first Peter.

(1 Peter 4:1-6; “So, since Christ suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same attitude, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin, in that he spends the rest of his time on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires. For the time that has passed was sufficient for you to do what the non-Christians desire. You lived then in debauchery, evil desires, drunkenness, carousing, drinking bouts, and wanton idolatries. So, they are astonished when you do not rush with them into the same flood of wickedness, and they vilify you. (5) They will face a reckoning before Jesus Christ who stands ready to judge the living and the dead. (6) Now it was for this very purpose that the gospel was preached to those who are now dead, so that though they were judged in the flesh by human standards they may live spiritually by God’s standards.”))

When will these have opportunity to live spiritually by God’s standards and when will people face a reckoning? Revisit Revelations 21:7-8. The “now dead” had the good news preached to them. Those NOT having died as, “believers IN Jesus” will not be in the first and spiritual resurrection, but will face a reckoning - second death.

(Rev 2:11; “The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will in no way be harmed by the second death.’)

(Rev 20:6; “Blessed and holy is the one who takes part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.”)

(Rev 20:11-15; “Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened – the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades “grave” gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death – the lake of fire. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.”)

(Rev 21:7-8; “The one who conquers will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, idol worshipers, and all those who lie, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. That is the second death.”

May we each be led to seek truth and wait on revelations.

1st & 2nd Peter, supporting text and commentary, chapter 17

Tuesday, July 26th, 2016

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 20, 5776: 7/26/16: To followers of Jesus.

Jesus’ righteousness in us can only come by our being, “born from above.” Hostility removed. Believers IN understand and practice God’s spiritual laws because His love is shed abroad in our hearts. Our trust faith must be in what Jesus did on our behalf and in His promises. Thus we are gifted with an internal desire to be obedient because we love the Law Giver. Understanding that it is NOT the keeping of law that saves.

Paul explained this to the Believers in Rome and all Believers IN.

(Rom 5:1-5; “Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by, “Jesus’” faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory. (3) Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”)) Overcoming both our fleshly nature and obstacles by faith produces Godly character. Rejoice in suffering - rejoice that we are led to overcome. Rejoice that we are led to recognize our imperfections.

(Rom 5:6-11; “For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (For rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person perhaps someone might possibly dare to die.) But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from God’s wrath. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by His Life? Not only this, but we “Believers” also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation.” )) This reconciliation is peace through Jesus. We don’t obey in order to find favor, but because we understand His Loving Way. That His laws are for our benefit. We obey our Parent because He loved us first.

Holy Creator God: please lead each truth seeking person and reveal Yourself through Jesus; our Christ. Make us mindful that Your plans from creation through New Jerusalem coming down cannot be altered. Make us mindful that You knew us before the foundation of the world. Help us stand for Your truth, abandon personal theories and yield to Your Way. We pray in the holy nature of Jesus. AMEN.

Consider; if Peter were living in any one of our communities today, teaching Jesus and doing miracles through Him, organized religion with the help of the media would be persecuting Peter. Many would leave organized religions. The very organization that claims Peter to be their first pope would lead the charge.

Peter’s life, beliefs, like David’s and Jesus’ are laid bare for our consideration and learning. When Jesus came in the flesh, the Israelites were looking for their promised Messiah, to redeem Israel in a similar manner as when He sent Moses. Judaism is still looking for their Messiah, blinded to the fact, “that same Jesus is The One coming back.”

Jesus’ apostles were also expecting the kingdom of God to be established. After all, God’s kingdom on earth is promised through Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea and others. After Jesus’ ascension, His apostles expected His return to be during their life time. His apostles minds were not opened on this subject until Jesus’ miraculous revelations. Consider Jesus’ Words, recorded by Matthew and Peter’s fleshly response.

(Matt 16:21-23; “From that time on Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. (22) So Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke Him: “God forbid, Lord! This must not happen to you!” But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me, because you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but on man’s.”))

Peter’s mindset at the time demonstrates his fleshly thinking, that of this world’s religious people and their organizations. They aren’t understanding God’s short and long term plans, that must unfold. Worldly religious organizations are an offense to God with their various agenda’s. RE-VISIT and study Isaiah 14: and for this study’s purpose believe God’s Words in verse 24.

(Isaiah 14:24; “The Lord who commands armies makes this solemn vow: “Be sure of this: Just as I have intended, so it will be; just as I have planned, it will happen.”))

At that point when Peter made the above comment, recorded at Matt. 16:22, “he did not actually realize who Jesus is!” This world’s religious organizations STILL do not comprehend His deity, message nor plans. Personal theories abound. By the time Peter wrote two letters; he did not have a personal theology. His truth was Jesus’ truth,

(Matt 16:24; “Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to become My follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”))

Put to practice Jesus’ Ways, “His righteousness” forefront and deny theories, with their fleshly desires and ambitions. Abandon life’s fleshly desires; put Jesus first. We each need to pray for spiritually guidance, that leads to focusing on things that are eternal.

(Matt 16:25; “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”))

Believers IN are spirit led to consider life, “as NOT their own.” Each individual’s foundational life focus is either fleshly; (as was Peter’s on the occasion recorded above) OR our life’s focus is from God’s revealing Himself and His righteous Ways.

(Matt 16:26-28; “For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or what can a person give in exchange for his life? For the Son of Man will come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then He will reward each person according to what he has done. I tell you the truth, there are some standing here who will not experience death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”))

It’s the promise the prophets wrote about and Peter expected. Jesus is coming with His angels and His Saints to reward according to what we have done. Not works done to earn salvation, nor works before Jesus’ revealed Himself, “but works done afterward.” Soon after Jesus’ Words in these verses, He did take Peter, James and John up a mountain where Jesus, Moses and Elijah were transformed before them. (see Matt 17:) They saw God’s kingdom.

Review what is revealed about Peter’s life from the time he was called, the miracles Jesus did through him, his lack of understanding before Jesus’ ascension, his overcoming after Jesus’ ascension and his spiritual mature thinking after Jesus miraculously opened his mind. We have a good overview of the man Peter, from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John’s gospel accounts, plus Luke’s record of his life as recorded in the book of Acts.

In Peter’s two letters we have more revelation about his understanding.

First Peter

(1 Peter 1:1-2; “From Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those temporarily residing abroad (in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, the province of Asia, and Bithynia) who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with Jesus Christ’s blood. May grace and peace be yours in full measure!”)) Peter is writing to scattered converted to Jesus’ Way Israelites!

Knowing the prophecies about Israel’s future deliverance when Jesus rules, Peter notes their living abroad temporarily. ‘See Isaiah 35:) Peter knew the prophecies about their being gathered again to their homeland. Peter knew Jesus’ promises to Abraham; “that Abraham, would yet inherit the lands promised.” Writing to a chosen people, foreknown to God and set apart “sanctified” for obedience. God’s called out people are gifted with a desire to be obedient, Sprinkled with the blood is to be sprinkled with Jesus’ life.

Life is in the blood! Thus through Jesus’ life in us, we have His mind, grace and peace. Peter knew Jesus’ Words to Moses, regarding blood. Jesus told Moses that blood was not to be eaten for this reason.

(Deut 12:22-25; “Like you eat the gazelle or ibex, so you “people” may eat these; the ritually impure and pure, “people” alike may eat them. However, by no means eat the blood, for the blood is life itself – you must not eat the life with the meat! You must not eat it! You must pour it out on the ground like water. You must not eat it so that it may go well with you and your children after you; you will be doing what is right in the Lord’s sight.”))

Doing what is right in God’s sight, is NOT doing what seems right to the fleshly mind! That’s idolatry! That is what Satan coached Eve into believing. (study Genesis 3:) Jesus’ spirit, was imputed to Peter; “thus Peter became a Believer IN Jesus and was given to understand the old and new covenant parallels.” Re-look at 1 Peter 1-2:

No apostle ever thought God’s holy spirit was a separate deity with God the Father and God the Son. Thus, in their salutations statements, “blessed be God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Salutations never included the holy spirit. (The holy spirit is indeed God’s power, a fathering sprit God the Father gives through God The Son.) (For Believers IN; God’s spirit is the power of a sound mind, the power to overcome fleshly desires and demonic deceptions to the end.) In Peter’s second letter, he describes the workings of God’s spirit and our responsibility after our nature is changed.

(2 Peter 1:3-11; “I can pray this because His divine power has bestowed on us everything necessary for life and godliness through the rich knowledge of the One “God the Father” who called us by His own glory and excellence. Through these things He has bestowed on us His precious and most magnificent promises, so that by means of what was promised you may become partakers of the divine nature, after escaping the worldly corruption that is produced by evil desire. (the fleshly mind) For this very reason, make every effort, “work” to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish love. For if these things are really yours and are continually increasing, “overcoming” they will keep you from becoming ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately. But concerning the one who lacks such things, “people NOT spiritually begotten – NOT born from above” he is blind. That is to say, he is nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins. (10) Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort, “work” to be sure of your calling and election. For by doing this you will never stumble into sin. For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.”)) A thousand times YES, we are saved by God’s grace, then what? (We are set aside for obedience! 1 Peter 1:2)

1st & 2nd Peter, supporting text and commentary, chapter 16

Monday, July 25th, 2016

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 19, 5776: 7/25/16: To followers of Jesus.

As we get to Peter’s letters we will find that Paul concurred with Peter on every doctrinal subject. Remember Peter wrote; “regarding the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as also our dear brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him, speaking of these things in all his letters. Some things in these letters are hard to understand, things the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they also do to the rest of the scriptures. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard that you do not get led astray by the error of these unprincipled men and fall from your firm grasp on the truth. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the honor both now and on that eternal day.” 2 Peter 3:15-18))

The world’s populations at large don’t realize that God is allowing Satan to be the prince of the power of the air; the god of this age, and is taking this world on the path to destruction, Jesus warned us that, “life practices on earth will resemble the days of Sodom and Gomorrah before His return.” Doctor Luke quoted Jesus; “Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot, people were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building; but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be the same on the day the Son of Man is revealed.” Luke 17:28-30))

The question professing Christians should ask, “do I believe IN or do I believe that.” Again, let us review our previous studies on the, “believing that” opposed to the, “believing IN” principle. “Believing that” allows one to go the way that seems right. “Believing IN” compels one to turn from this world’s system of things and follow Jesus.

If Peter were your neighbor.

Suppose Jesus’ apostle Peter lived next door, and you observed his practices. The holy scriptures reveals enough about Peter’s life that we can discern his way and practices. (Peter lived before unprincipled professing Christian organized religions institutions practicing paganism on a, “so called Christian calendar.”) All Israelites and God’s churches, naturally observed the calendar God gave Moses. Thus, Peter kept the three holy seasons, “Passover, Feast of Weeks - Pentecost and Feast of Tabernacles.” Plus, remembering and keeping the weekly Sabbath. Peter was a family man with or had previously had a wife, his mother in law apparently shared his home.

(Matt 8:14; “Now when Jesus entered Peter’s house, He saw his mother-in-law lying down, sick with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and began to serve them.”)) Characteristically and especially in the beginning of Jesus‘ good news going out, Peter was quick to speak his mind. Seemingly Jesus corrected Peter more often than the other apostles. Peter grew in the grace and knowledge of God and became a leader in God’s Church.

If Peter lived in this age; do you suppose he would be following this world’s system of things? Would he reject celebratory practices brought over from pagan sun worship with the claim that it’s Jesus’ birthday? Would he be true to the calendar God gave Moses? Would Peter play down the worshipful mentality of people’s enthusiastic attention to popularized sports? Would Peter be thought of as an odd ball in your community? Should Jesus’ apostles be examples to Christians?

Should we ask, “how can our or any nation expect the God of Abraham’s blessings? Even Israel’s laws subscribe to and allow the abominable practice, and condone homosexuality! Every nation, now subscribes to the demonic way and is ripe for God’s wrathful intervention. Remember, each individual’s god is that which he trust and serves. The so called non-religious, “unbelievers” make this world’s system of things their god. The worldly religious serve organizations that make merchandise of them. Only people God chooses to reveal Himself to, are free from Satan’s many divisionary deceptions.

Years after Jesus’ ascension, Judea’s organized religions, “Pharisees and Sadducees” were still persecuting followers of Jesus, as were others trapped in unbelief. (God still allows such disruptions and persecutions that ultimately will serve His purposes.)

In addition to followers of Jesus needing to overcome our inherited from Adam fleshly nature, we need obstacles to overcome, “to grow in the faith and for our purification.” To followers of Jesus, Peter explained.

(1Peter 1:22-25; “You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart. You, “followers of Jesus” have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. (24) For all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass; the grass withers and the flower falls off, but the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.”))

It was revealed to Peter that he would be persecuted and die for the cause of Jesus. He and each apostle knew of Paul’s being stoned in Antioch.

(Acts 14:19-20‘ “But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and after winning the crowds over, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, presuming him to be dead. But after the disciples had surrounded him, he got up and went back into the city. On the next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.”)) Peter, Paul and Barnabas were out front teaching Israelites and non-Israelites, while being persecuted by Judaism and paganism. While the matter of circumcision and the law of Moses remained in the forefront.

(Acts 15:6-10; “Both the apostles and the elders met together to deliberate about this matter. After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that some time ago God chose me to preach to the Gentiles so they would hear the message of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, has testified to them by giving them the Holy Spirit just as He did to us, and He made no distinction between them and us, cleansing their hearts by faith. (10) So now why are you putting God to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear? On the contrary, we believe that we “Israelites” are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they, “the gentiles” are.”)) Peter, Paul, each apostle and the prophets agreed. Peter was alluding to Isaiah 45:21. Paul used Peter’s teaching and example in his teaching.

(Acts 15:14-18; “Simeon (Peter) has explained how God first concerned Himself to select from among the Gentiles a people for His name. (God makes the selection.!) (15) The words of the prophets agree with this, as it is written, ‘After this I will return, and I will rebuild the fallen tent of David; I will rebuild its ruins and restore it, so that the rest of humanity may seek the Lord, namely, all the Gentiles I have called to be My own, says the Lord, who makes these things known from long ago.”)) The astute opened minded reader cannot miss; “I will return” “I will rebuild” “I will restore.” WHY? “So the rest of humanity may seek the Lord; namely the gentiles, I have CALLED.”)) A partial fulfillment was then and is now, but “the total fulfillment will be during Jesus’ millennial reign! The apostle Paul continues.

(Acts 15:19-21; “Therefore I conclude that we should not cause extra difficulty for those among the Gentiles who are turning to God, but that we should write them a letter telling them to abstain from things defiled by idols and from sexual immorality and from what has been strangled and from blood. For Moses has had those who proclaim him in every town from ancient times, because Moses is read aloud in the synagogues every Sabbath.”)) The infiltrators from Judaism were telling gentiles they must keep the law in order to be saved, “as if the way to salvation was through the law.” Such teaching was directly opposed to Jesus’ Words, “believe IN Me and be saved.” Believing IN has no correlation with any thing else! We can’t believe IN except His loving Way be revealed. Thus, we individually must be, “born from above” “be gifted with a supernatural nature change” it’s Jesus’ teaching! Remember Jesus’ reply to Nicodemus?

“I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is, ‘born from above’ he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3)) NOW, “being born from above” did not make the practice of obedience to God’s commandments obsolete. Being born from above changes one’s nature to that of, “wanting to obey from a love of God mind set.” Jesus’ prayer for the, “born from above Saints” may serve to open some minds.

( John 17:20-23; “I am not praying only on their, behalf, but also on behalf of those who believe IN Me through their testimony, that they will all be one, just as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. I pray that they will be in Us, so that the world will believe that You sent Me. The glory You gave to Me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one I in them and You in Me – that they may be completely one, so that the world will know that You sent Me, and You have loved them just as You have loved Me.”)) Begotten by God’s holy spirit is. ‘a fathering by God the Father!’ To be fathered by God is to be His Child. (Children inherit parent’s characteristics.) To be God’s Child is to love His Ways.

(John 17:24; “Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, so that they can see My glory that You gave Me because You loved Me before the creation of the world.”)) God the Father gave God the Son glory! and God the Father gives,

‘Jesus the Son’ each Believing IN, Christian individual!

(John 17:25; “Righteous Father, even if the world does not know You, I know You, and these men know that You sent Me.”)) How did these men know that Jesus was sent by God the Father? IT WAS REVEALED to them!

(John 17:26; “I made known Your name “Your nature” “Your characteristics” to them, and I will continue to make it known, so that the love You have loved Me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”)) Did any one think, “praise the eternal God?”

We followers of Jesus need to be prayerfully concerned about conflicts and resist the natural inclination of folks, ’who desire to make merchandise of us.’ It is so easy to go along to get along. Once, Paul expressed difficulty with Peter and accused Peter of, ’going along to get along’ - being hypocritical. Paul wrote of the matter in his letter to the Galatians.

(Galatians 2:11-14; “But when Cephas “PETER” came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he had clearly done wrong. Until certain people came from James, he had been eating with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he stopped doing this and separated himself because he was afraid of those who were pro-circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also joined with him in this hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray with them by their hypocrisy. (14) But when I saw that they were not behaving consistently with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, “If you, although you are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you try to force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”)) Perhaps Paul overreacted; but we know it is in our nature to yield to popular social customs. It seems that Peter was at ease socializing with the gentile until he assumed, it was against the principles of those coming from James.

This is part of the overcoming each group and individual must work on. Jesus and each apostle taught that all were sinners, but Paul makes a distinction between those keeping the law and gentile sinners.

(Gal 2:15-21; “We are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that no one is justified by the works of the law but by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe IN Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by the faithfulness of Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. But if while seeking to be justified in Christ we ourselves have also been found to be sinners, is Christ then one who encourages sin? Absolutely not! But if I build up again those things I once destroyed, I demonstrate that I am one who breaks God’s law. (19) For through the law I died to the law so that I may live to God. I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside God’s grace, because if righteousness could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing!”))

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 18, 5776: 7/24/16: To followers of Jesus.

Holy God; make us mindful that we are Your creation and subject to Your will, mindful of Your plan for this earth and we individually. May Your kingdom soon be established is our prayer in Jesus’ gifted nature. AMEN.

One of the upheavals in the world today is, “so called radical Muslims fight against people not agreeing with their philosophy.” Particularly, the radicals mindset is, “pay back” to those that warred against Islam’s philosophy many years ago. War is mostly about, “believing in philosophies” and people desiring to make merchandise of others.

True, Jesus’ brother, “James” was writing to believers in Jesus, but the reason for disagreements among all people come from within the fleshly minds, “prideful, strongly held beliefs.” Consider.

(James 4:1-3; “Where do the conflicts and where do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, from your passions that battle inside you? You desire and you do not have; you murder and envy and you cannot obtain; you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask; you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.”)) As long as people groups have strongly held passions, disagreements and war is inevitable.

In our last study we shared how the apostate, Jesus’ brother, “Jude” wrote about, started and grew. From history we can learn about the, so called holy wars and their results. Jesus made it clear that these disputes would continue until His return, Satan bound and knowledge of God covers the earth as water the sea.

A nature change needed.

The mystery to this world is that all people’s nature must ultimately be changed. Changed from a self dependency to God dependency. People must be gifted with the imputation of Godly love, “a service mentality.” A love for others as Jesus demonstrated His love. Jesus referred to this change, as, “being born from above.” (Until individually given a new nature, “born from above” we individually choose gods that fits our hopes and “fleshly intellectual thinking.”) Each individual’s god is, “that which he hopes in, serves and looks to for guidance.” The atheist make their own intellect their god and the worldly religious serve organizations that make merchandise of them. Each succumbing to a bondage of the mind that takes them down a destructive path.

Peter’s education.

Before Jesus’ ascension, Peter witnessed Jesus’ turning water to wine, Lazarus’ physical resurrection, Jesus and himself miraculously walking on water, witnessed Jesus calming a rough sea, Jesus’ re-creating food, feeding thousands from a small basket and God the Father’s thunderous voice saying, “this is My one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to Him!” Matt 17:5) Previously Jesus had told His apostles, “But I tell you most certainly, there are some standing here who will not experience death before they see the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:27) Peter, James, and John witnessed what God’s kingdom was like.

(Matthew 17:-5-8; “The three were led alone up a high mountain privately. And Jesus was transfigured before them, and his clothes became radiantly white, more so than any launderer in the world could bleach them. Then Elijah appeared before them along with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. So Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three shelters – one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” (For they were afraid, and Peter did not know what to say.) Then a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came from the cloud, “This is my one dear Son. Listen to Him!” Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them any more except Jesus.”)

Peter, John and James were given an overview of Jesus’ Kingdom.

In spite of all the above observations, Peter and his fellow apostles didn’t understand the scriptures until Jesus miraculously opened their minds to do so.

When Jesus returns we will see Him as Peter, James and John did, or a similar transfiguration. We Saints will know others, like Moses, Elijah, Peter, John and James. Each follower of Jesus live in the expectation, of their life revolving around the resurrection and Jesus’ promises. Peter asked and Jesus gave His apostles promises.

(Matt 19:27-30; “Then Peter said to Jesus, “Look, we have left everything to follow You! What then will there be for us?” Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth: In the age when all things are renewed, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for My sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”))

If he had not already learned, Peter learned from Jesus, that eternal life was a gifted inheritance. (That he did not have eternal life from birth.) Peter NOT ONLY believed Jesus, Peter’s life focus, beliefs, practices, grew from the foundation of believing IN Jesus and His promises. (Had worldly organized religions believed IN Jesus, they would have never incorporated pagan gentile practices, in with worshiping in Jesus‘ name.)

Jesus, through doctor Luke, inspired the first twelve chapters of, “Acts of the apostles” primarily to Peter. Beginning with the thirteenth chapter of Acts; Jesus had Luke zero in on His calling Paul, on Paul’s travels and ministry. Jesus’ apostle Paul’s beliefs, practices and teaching differ only from the point of view that Jesus had him focus on the gentile populations. No apostle ever stopped remembering and primarily teaching on God’s Sabbaths. Barnabas and Paul explained that it was necessary that Jesus’ good news go to the Israelites first and that non-Israelites were grafted in to become spiritual Israelites.

(Acts 13:42-48; “As Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people were urging them to speak about these things on the next Sabbath. When the synagogue meeting had broken up, many of the Jews and God-fearing proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking with them and were persuading them to continue in the grace of God. (44) On the next Sabbath almost the whole city assembled together to hear the word of the Lord.

But when the Jews “leaders” saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they began to contradict what Paul was saying by reviling him. (46) Both Paul and Barnabas replied courageously. (Now addressing the Jewish leaders Paul and Barnabas respond.) “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles. For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have appointed you to be a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice and praise the Word of the Lord, and all who had been appointed for eternal life believed.”))

People appointed for eternal life, believe IN. Thus they practiced the, “believing IN Way” they began turning from pagan practices. (Non-Israelites began to understand that they, like we Believers IN, in every age, “are in the world but not of the world.”)

(Acts 13:49-50; “So the word of the Lord was spreading through the entire region. But the Jews “leadership” incited the God-fearing women of high social standing and the prominent men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their region.”))

Think about it, people with high social standing are usually the politically correct. They are the admirers of the worldly educated, with worldly connections. In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul compares the gentile condition with physical heirs of Abraham. God reveals Himself to individuals.

Paul, speaking to called out non-Israelites.

(Eph 2:1-3; “Although you, “gentiles” were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you formerly lived, “practiced” according to this world’s present path, according to the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the ruler of 7 the spirit that is now energizing the sons of disobedience, among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest.”)) This gifted understanding is among the first steps to Godly repentance. The ruler of this world’s system of things is Satan, he is the prince of the power of the air. (revisit Isaiah 14 :)

(Eph 2:4-10; “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! – and He raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, (why?) to demonstrate in the coming ages (His millennium and beyond) the surpassing wealth of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (8) For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.”)) Think of when the whole world will believe IN this awesome Creator. When each individual know that God knows their very thoughts.

(Eph 2:11-13; “Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “un-circumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body by human hands – that you were at that time without the Messiah, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”)) All whose minds God opened and gifted with repentance are, “brought near.” (Gifted with understanding and eternal life.)

(Eph 2:14-22; “For Jesus is our peace, the One who made both groups into one and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility, when He nullified in His flesh the law of commandments in decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of two, thus making peace, and to reconcile them both in one body to God, “the Father” through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed. And Jesus came and preached peace to you, “gentiles” who were far off and peace to those who were near, “the Israelites” so that through Jesus we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. (19) So then you, “gentiles” are no longer foreigners and non-citizens, but you are fellow citizens with the Saints and members of God’s household, because you have been built “spiritually created” on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the Cornerstone. In Him the whole building, “His church” being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.”))

Believers IN are God’s temple. Each individual Believer IN, is on God’s spiritual potter’s wheel. The Potter is God and He is doing the molding. The question we each need to ask, is; “to what degree am I yielded?” (To what degree am I, NOT of this world’s system of things?)

1st & 2nd Peter, supporting text and commentary, chapter 14

Saturday, July 23rd, 2016

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 17, 5776: 7/23/16: To followers of Jesus.

We see that Peter did not believe, nor did any apostle ever teach, “a methodology by which people may be saved.” As with Cornelius, God called, gave the desire to know Him, revealed Peter and gave the gift of repentance. Revealed spiritual understanding and teaching is gifted. Peter’s beliefs, practices and teaching were from the gifted foundation of understandings Jesus shared with him.

God the Father’s and Jesus’ deity are revealed through God the Son’s physical life. (Understanding that God first loved him and revealed Himself through Jesus, made Peter and makes each Christian, “a Believer IN God the Father and God the Son.”) Practicing obedience is the foundation for demonstrating to other, one’s belief IN God.

(The absence of a gifted believing IN God mindset, caused Eve to consider what the serpent had to say.) So it is with all people in every generation, until gifted to believe IN, our minds are vulnerable. This is the reason Jesus could say, “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, “if possible, even the Elect.” Matt 24:24.. (His Elect are gifted with believing IN minds and as such, “aren’t vulnerable to doctrines and belief systems that aren’t God revealed.”)

Disbelief in God’s authority, creativity, sustaining abilities causes people to consider various philosophies and themselves intellectually capable of deciding for self, what’s right, wrong, good and evil. (This is the foundation for, “the atheist” beliefs and how denominations are started.) Philosophies such as, “what if God created through evolution” “what if Jesus‘ instantaneous healings and those through His apostles were flukes” and “what if the universe came about by some big bang explosion?” All such speculations are rooted in disbelief!! (Not believing IN God as He manifest Himself to be is idolatry.) Thinking our own intellect capable of choosing is idolatry. People concluding such, may believe that some deity exist, “they do not believe IN the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and Jesus’ apostles.

Consider what appealed to Eve and what appeals to all unbelieving people. (To be divine, “choose for self” and to live forever someplace appeals to a self serving nature.) The serpent said to the woman, “Surely you will not die, for God knows that when you eat from it, “what God forbid” your eyes will open and you will be like divine beings who know good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5) Divine means; “to have a God like nature.” (Satan is saying, “God lied” you people are born divine, and as such have the ability to decide for yourself. God is withholding knowledge and want’s you to depend on Him for guidance.) Our instinctive fleshly minds does not understand that what we trust in, “is our God.“ The self serving side of our nature can’t understand that our Creator loves and want’s what is best for us.

God understands our fleshly instinctive nature perfectly and that is the reason He had Moses warn the Israelites about corrupting themselves with images.

(Deut 4:15-20; “Be very careful, then, because you saw no form at the time the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the middle of the fire. I say this so you will not corrupt yourselves by making an image in the form of any kind of figure. This includes the likeness of a human male or female, any kind of land animal, any bird that flies in the sky, anything that crawls on the ground, or any fish in the deep waters of the earth. (19) When you look up to the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars – the whole heavenly creation – you must not be seduced to worship and serve them, for the Lord your God has assigned them to all the people of the world. You, “Israelites” however, the Lord has selected and brought from Egypt, “bondage of sin” that iron-smelting furnace, to be His special people as you are today.”))

The Israelites were foreordained, “a special people” because of God’s promises to Abraham. There was nothing else special about them. Likewise with people gifted with a desire to know the true God, in every age. No one is special in and of themselves. God’s callings are without regard to fleshly inherited talents or intellect. (By His grace, people are saved.)

God purposely did not allow Moses and the Israelites, see His shape. He wants we people made in His image to worship Him, “not His image” thus, He conceals His image. He does not want His chosen people to corrupting themselves, as the rest of the world’s populations do. More specifically, God does not want His people worshiping the imaginary fertility gods, the non-Israelite populations succumb to, “as in making images of males and female private parts.” No images of any kind should be looked to for any kind of help. People corrupt themselves, using images, “like rabbits, eggs and looking to the eastern sunrise” to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.

Without God’s revelations, people can’t conceive His awesomeness in, creativity, re-creativity, sustaining powers and that He is the originator of life. That our Creator is the personification of love in all His preplanning. God knew what would appeal to the fleshly nature in people. He created that too, for His purpose. (God knows Satan and allows him to deceive the whole world for His ultimate purpose.) God is allowing Satan to be the god of this age, until the appointed time of his being bound. (Overcoming the flesh and demonic obstacles are character building blocks and when gifted to believe IN, we have spiritual power to do both.) Thus, through Jesus, called out people grow in the grace and knowledge of God the Father and God the Son.

Satan and his followers, “demonic angelic beings” have a purpose in God’s planning. Prior to his rebellion, Satan’s name was Lucifer. Jesus’ prophet Isaiah shares his revelation about Satan’s purpose and God’s ultimate plan for his demise.

(Isaiah 14:12-14; “Look how you have fallen from the sky, O shining one, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O conqueror of the nations! You said to yourself, “I will climb up to the sky. Above the stars of El, “Deities” I will set up my throne. I will rule on the mountain of assembly on the remote slopes of Zaphon. I will climb up to the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High!”)) Before selling his lying philosophy to Eve, Satan knew his own ultimate demise.

(Isaiah 14:15-17; “But you “Satan” were brought down to Sheol, to the remote slopes of the pit. Those who see you stare at you, they look at you carefully, thinking: “Is this the man who shook the earth, the one who made kingdoms tremble? Is this the one who made the world like a desert, who ruined its cities, and refused to free his prisoners so they could return home?”’)) Through Isaiah, Jesus is revealing Satan’s thought process and the end of his rule on earth. (Study this whole chapter)

Satan is a destroyer, a divider and God reveals through Isaiah that he is even going to destroys his own followers. There is no love in this created, turned demonic, supernatural being. He enjoys manifesting himself as an angel of light. (see 2 Corinthians 11:14) He caused the Babylonian confusion and Assyria’s demonic stronghold, used to enslave God’s chosen.

(Isaiah 14:24-27; “The Lord who commands armies makes this solemn vow: “Be sure of this: Just as I have intended, so it will be; just as I have planned, it will happen. I will break Assyria in My land, I will trample them underfoot on My hills. Their yoke will be removed from My people, the burden will be lifted from their shoulders. This is the plan I have devised for the whole earth; My hand is ready to strike all the nations.” Indeed, the Lord who commands armies has a plan, and who can possibly frustrate it? His hand is ready to strike, and who can possibly stop it?”)) (Satan and all evil will ultimately be destroyed, while Believers IN God will be gifted with, “inherit” eternal life. Believers IN are, “born from above!”)

Job is a good example for our consideration. Study the account of God allowing Satan to afflict Job and remember that all these things are written for our learning. (Study Job.)

Satan knew Jesus’ plan to sacrifice Himself for the sins of the world. He understands the result of God gifting people with His spirit, ”His nature” that is eternal life. Satan uses the prideful nature in fleshly people, to enslave them. Prideful Israelites, even those gifted to believe IN, were opposed to Jesus’ saving non-Israelites. Making gentiles spiritually at one with them. After Jesus’ ascension, Pentecost and gentiles called to be AT ONE with them and Jesus, the fleshly side of the Israelites’ nature opposed gentiles.

(Acts 11:1-3; “Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles too had accepted the Word of God. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers took issue with him, saying, “You went to uncircumcised men and shared a meal with them.”)) These Israelites were recipients of the holy spirit, but were still babes in Christ. This is why Jesus’ apostles went to great length in their letters, teaching the strong to have patience with new converts. So Peter was compelled to review the whole account of his and Cornelius’s visions. Peter concluded.

(“Then as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as it did on us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, as He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ Therefore if God gave them the same gift as He also gave us after believing IN the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to hinder God?”)) When they heard this, they ceased their objections and praised God, saying, “So then, God has granted the repentance that leads to life even to the Gentiles.” Acts 11:15-18))

All the while, the Pharisees and Sadducees kept their organizations intact and partnered with King Herod to persecute Jesus’ followers. Herod had James and his brother John executed. Then set out to persecute many more. When Herod saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too. (This took place during the feast of Unleavened Bread.) When Herod seized Peter, he put him in prison, handing him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him. Herod planned to bring him out for public trial after the Passover “season.” So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly praying to God for him. On that very night before Herod was going to bring him out for trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, while guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison.

(Acts 12:7-11; “Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the prison cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly!” And the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. The angel said to him, “Fasten your belt and put on your sandals.” Peter did so. Then the angel said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.” Peter went out and followed him; he did not realize that what was happening through the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. After they had passed the first and second guards, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went outside and walked down one narrow street, when at once the angel left him. When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”)) Believers IN God; understand that He is not bound by physical law as we know it. We understand that nothing is impossible with God. (see Luke 1:37)

(Acts 12:12-17; “When Peter realized “he had been supernaturally released” he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many people had gathered together and were praying. When Peter knocked at the door of the outer gate, a slave girl named Rhoda answered. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she did not open the gate, but ran back in and told them that Peter was standing at the gate. But they said to her, “You’ve lost your mind!” But she kept insisting that it was Peter, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!” Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were greatly astonished. Peter motioned to them with his hand to be quiet and then related how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said, “Tell James and the brothers these things,” and then he left and went to another place.”))

People wonder why Jesus isn’t doing these kinds of miracles today. He has His plans. We need to consider the persecutions suffered from the hands of unbelievers; in large part, it was because of these miracles. Naïve unbelievers prefer worshiping the grandeur status of their leaders, esteeming, idolizing and imagining vain results.

(Acts 12:18-24; “At daybreak there was great consternation among the soldiers over what had become of Peter. When Herod had searched for Peter and did not find him, he questioned the guards and commanded that they be led away to execution. Then Herod went down from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there. Now Herod was having an angry quarrel with the people of Tyre and Sidon. So they joined together and presented themselves before him. And after convincing Blastus, the king’s personal assistant, to help them, they asked for peace, because their country’s food supply was provided by the king’s country. (21) On a day determined in advance, Herod put on his royal robes, sat down on the judgment seat, and made a speech to them. But the crowd began to shout, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!” Immediately an angel of the Lord struck Herod down because he did not give the glory to God, and he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God kept on increasing that would soon take hold.”)) Even before Peter’s death, a gamut of apostasies were infiltrating God’s churches. They were being divided by those twisting God’s truth for personal benefit. These were desiring to build a power dynasty with the use of Jesus’ name. Selling the idea that Jesus condoned the gentile gods, “gods differing from the harsh God of Abraham and Moses.” One giving world dominating power to Peter and successors. Claiming Peter to be the first pope, killed in Rome etc. Claiming Linus was the second bishop of Rome and Peter’s successor. (There is some dispute regarding this successor.) But the apostasy holds that Peter was the first pope. This infiltrating apostasy brought about many abominable to God practice, applying them in Jesus’ name and enforcing membership in the organization.

God’s 4th month, Tammuz 14, 5776: 7/20/16: To followers of Jesus.

In the day of Stephen and before Jesus’ came in the flesh, families with children went to the Synagogues weekly, reviewing the commandments, studying Israel’s history etc. Stephen was blessed with an overview, knowing that Moses was referring to Jesus’ coming.

Stephen was gifted with a genuine love for God’s Way and God’s chosen people. Love without hypocrisy, characterized Stephen. The hieratical temple priest, back then were much like the denominational mentality in our age. (However, God imputed the very nature of Jesus to Stephen’s mind and he will be in the FIRST resurrection.) We believers IN look forward to meeting this Saint. (Stephen’s overview of Israel’s experiences from Abraham, through Solomon’s reign was well known history to all Jesus’ apostles and still is to Jesus‘ followers.) When organized religions of that day heard Stephen’s orientation they became furious. In part, because Stephen equated Jesus as being, “That One” Moses was speaking about, when Moses said; ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’

(Acts 7:54-8:3; “When the authorities heard these things, they became furious and ground their teeth at Stephen. But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked intently toward heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look!” Stephen said. “I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” But they covered their ears, shouting out with a loud voice, rushed at Stephen with one intent. When they had driven Stephen out of the city, they began to stone him, and the witnesses laid their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul.

They continued to stone Stephen while he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” Then he fell to his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he died. And Saul agreed completely with killing him. Now on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were forced to scatter throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria. Some devout men buried Stephen and made loud lamentation over him. But Saul was trying to destroy the church; entering one house after another, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.)) (Read Acts 9: about Saul’s conversion.) This love example of Stephens and Paul’s defining love at 1Corinthians 13: is the standard by which we can determine and define Godly love.

After Saul’s conversion Jesus changed Saul’s name to Paul. Peter would write about Paul in his second letter. Peter wrote; “Regard the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as also our dear brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him, speaking of these things in all his letters. Some things in these letters are hard to understand, things the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they also do to the rest of the scriptures.” 2 Peter 3:15-16)

It seems that more miraculous healing were done through Peter than any other apostle, considering that his shadow passing over, healed many. Through Peter, Jesus gave physical life back as He had given physical life back to Lazarus.

(Acts 9:32-35; “Now as Peter was traveling around from place to place, he also came down to the Saints who lived in Lydda. He found there a man named Aeneas who had been confined to a mattress for eight years because he was paralyzed. Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Get up and make your own bed!” And immediately he got up. All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.”)) Many Pharisees, Sadducees witnessed similar miracles around Jerusalem but refused to believe IN Jesus. (Jesus the Christ heals you, was Peter’s words.!) As with God’s creation; God is not limited to physical science as our world knows it. Believers IN God know that He has no limitations. Unbelieving people remain in their state of being because they can’t believe IN God as He manifest Himself to be.

God had Job pen in part; “The underworld is naked before God; the place of destruction lies uncovered. He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He suspends the earth on nothing. He locks the waters in His clouds, and the clouds do not burst with the weight of them. He conceals the face of the full moon, shrouding it with His clouds. He marks out the horizon on the surface of the waters as a boundary between light and darkness. The pillars of the heavens tremble and are amazed at His rebuke. By His power He stills the sea; by His wisdom He cut Rahab the great sea monster to pieces. By His breath the skies became fair; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent. Indeed, these are but the outer fringes of His Ways! How faint is the whisper we hear of Him!” Job 26:6:14))

THE POINT! When Satan is bound and the world filled with the knowledge of God; people will understand God’s awesomeness and His Ways. Many will be given physical life and many will be forgiven for their un-beliefs in their previous life .

God foreknew the fleshly nature in people, it’s pulls and demonic influences. God inspired Moses to warn us. “Be very careful, then, because you saw no form at the time the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the middle of the fire. You, “Believers IN” however, the Lord has selected and brought from Egypt, “bondage of sin” that iron-smelting furnace, to be His special people as you are today.” Deut 4:15-20))

Image worshiping began in Adam’s time and grew to the degree that God destroyed with a flood. In Abraham’s day; Sodom and Gomorra was destroyed because of these sinful practices. But Abraham looked forward to God’s promises, particularly to Jesus’ followers, “who would be his heirs.” Abraham looked forward to The Son of God coming as “The Light” of the world. Jesus’ miracles and those He did through His apostles are demonstrations of God’s power to intervene and keep His promises. In that first generation after His ascension, Jesus did many miracles through Peter.

Jesus physically resurrected through Peter.

(Acts 9:36-43; “Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which in translation means Dorcas). She was continually doing good deeds and acts of charity. At that time she became sick and died. When they had washed her body, they placed it in an upstairs room. Because Lydda was near Joppa, when the disciples heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him and urged Him, “Come to us without delay.” So Peter got up and went with them, and when he arrived they brought Peter to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him, crying and showing him the tunics and other clothing Dorcas used to make while she was with them. (40) But Peter sent them all outside, knelt down, and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. He gave her his hand and helped her get up. Then he called the Saints and widows and presented her alive. This became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. So Peter stayed many days in Joppa with a man named Simon, a tanner.”))

Peter received, “knowing faith” from Jesus, that He would give life back to Tabitha! This is another clear example, “a forerunner, to when” God’s resurrects to physical life. When Jesus was resurrected to spiritual life, many others were resurrected to a physical life.

(They came out of their tombs, God the Father resurrection them.) These physically resurrected people went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

At this point in Peter’s life, Jesus was about to give him new revelations regarding the totality of who Abraham’s heirs are. Until these new revelation, Jesus’ apostles thought the imputation of God’s holy spirit was to Israelites, “Abraham’s fleshly heirs.” BUT God was calling a gentile named Cornelius, making him a devout man that feared God. In vision an angel appeared to Cornelius and told him that his prayers were answered: “send people to Joppa and summon a man called Peter,” the angel said.

While two of Cornelius’s servants were in route; Peter was on a roof meditating and in prayer. In that time span Peter became hungry and was given a vision of a four cornered sheet with all sorts of reptiles, animals and birds being let down from above. A voice said to Peter, “Get up, slaughter and eat.” NO, Lord, said Peter; “I have never eaten anything defiled or ritually unclean.” The voice said again and a third time “what God has made clean, you must not consider ritually unclean. Peter was puzzled and while considering the matter, two men were at the house entrance asking for Peter. These explained to Peter that they were sent by a centurion name Cornelius, because of a vision Cornelius was given, instructing him to call for Peter. The two travelers were invited in; spent the night, the next day, Peter and companions went with them. Cornelius, his family and close friends were anxiously waiting for Peter. On Peter’s arrival Cornelius fell at his feet to worship, but Peter said; “stand up, I too am a mere mortal.”

Speaking to the whole group, Peter said; “it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or visit a gentile, yet God has shown me that I should not call any person defiled or ritually unclean.” Now I ask, why you have sent for me. Cornelius explained his vision and said, “therefore I sent for you at once and you were kind enough to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to say to us. So Peter began speaking; “now I truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, but in every nation the person who fears God and does right, is welcome before Him. The message God sent to the people of Israel, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, (He is Lord of all) you know what happened throughout Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John announced with respect to Jesus from Nazareth, that God anointed Him with the holy spirit and with power. Jesus went around doing good and healing all with the holy spirit and with power. Healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him. We are witnesses to all these things He did in Judea and Jerusalem.

They killed Jesus by hanging Him on a tree, but God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen, not by all the people, but by us, the witnesses God had already chosen. We who had eaten and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. He commanded us to peach to the people and warn them that He is the One appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead. About Jesus all the prophets testified, “that everyone who believes IN Him, receive forgiveness of sins.

(Acts 10:44-48 “While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were greatly astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out, even on the Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, “No one can withhold the water for these people to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” So he gave orders to have them baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay for several days.”))

Since Jesus’ physical life on earth; “the chosen of God have a new covenant.” That covenant was manifested on that first Pentecost after Jesus’ ascension, with clear evidence that people received a new nature. On that Pentecost, the recipients were from the physical lineage of Abraham. Peter was the main spokesman on that Pentecost and now Peter was the first chosen to present Jesus to gentiles. The people speaking in languages previously unknown to them was supernatural evidence of their being recipients of the imputation of God’s nature changing spirit in people. People believing IN the good news message were gifted then and are being gifted today. This covenant doctrine is with; “people chosen to be, Believers IN.”
