Grace, mercy and love, chapter 14

5/31/17, God’s 3rd month, Sivan 5, 5777 until sunset today. To 4,504 in resident churches and individuals “called to follow Jesus.”

Satan inspires radicalism among self righteous people and organizations. He has been successfully promoting this type divisions since Adam and Eve’s creation. Radicalism begins when people think themselves capable of deciding for themselves what’s right, wrong, good and evil. (The reason our Lord didn’t want Adam and Eve partaking of the forbidden tree’s fruit was for their own good.) God knew the kind of divisions that would erupt among people when they began deciding these things for themselves. (In other words; “deciding what’s right, wrong, good and evil for one’s self” makes one a god to themselves.) A person’s god is that which they look to for knowledge and life’s practices!

Divisionary religions are started when someone is deceived into believing they are intellectually superior and understand God beyond what others generally understand. Satan may deceive some of these with miraculous visions of his making. We need to understand, Satan’s many characteristics and powers as Jesus and His apostles have shared. (“Prince of the power of the air, Ephesians 2;2” ” that huge dragon – the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world – was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.” Revelations 12:9))

Our first biblical example of a person becoming radicalized is Cain who decided God should be pleased with a offering of his choosing “vegetable sacrifice” rather than the commanded type sacrifice.

“Abel took care of the flocks, while Cain cultivated the ground. At the designated time Cain brought some of the fruit of the ground for an offering to the Lord. But Abel brought some of the firstborn of his flock – even the fattest of them. And the Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering, but with Cain and his offering He was not pleased. So Cain became very angry, and his expression was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why is your expression downcast? (7) Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. It ‘sin’ desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.” Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field. While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.” Gen 4:2-8.

Notice; there was a designated time set aside for making their offering ‘sacrifice’ to the Lord. The strong indication is that the Lord had already introduced His calendar. Setting aside the three holy seasons and annual Sabbaths. From that beginning, offerings ‘sacrifices” to the Lord were to be the best, “not the inferior.” Abel complied and Cain yielded to his self serving nature; deciding for himself what was ‘right, wrong, good and evil.’ The Lord reminded Cain that his inherited from Adam sin nature wanted to dominate him, but that his duty was to overcome it. Seemingly Cain had time to think it over before choosing to kill his brother. Obviously his lawless inherited from Adam nature dominated.

Reason for disobedience revealed to John and Believers IN.

(1John  3:11-15; “For this is the gospel message that you have heard from the beginning: that we should love one another, not like Cain who was of the evil one and brutally murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his deeds were evil, but his brother’s were righteous. (13) Therefore do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we ‘followers of - believers IN Jesus’ have crossed over from death to life because we love our fellow Christians. The one who does not love remains in death. Everyone who hates his fellow Christian is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.”)

Jesus ask and answers His own question to the Pharisees.

People practice their lives according to their nature.

(John 8:43-47; Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept My teaching. You ‘unbelieving’ people are from your father the devil, and you want to do what your father desires. He ‘Satan’ was a murderer from the beginning and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I am telling you the truth, you do not believe Me. Who among you can prove Me guilty of any sin? If I am telling you\ the truth, why don’t you believe Me? The one who belongs to God listens and responds to God’s words. You don’t listen and respond, because you don’t belong to God.”)

The person who practices sin is of the devil. In both Jewish and early Christian writings Cain is a model for those who deliberately disbelieve. It is not difficult to see why Jesus revealed this truth to John and we believers IN. Here as the model for the opponents of Jesus’ light. Why their failure to “love the brothers”

(1John  3:17-24; “But whoever has the world’s possessions and sees his fellow Christian in need and shuts off his compassion against him, how can the love of God reside in such a person? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue but in deed and truth. (19) And by this we will know that we are of the truth and will convince our conscience in His presence, that if our conscience condemns us, that God is greater than our conscience and knows all things.

(21-24; Dear friends, if our conscience does not condemn us, we have confidence in the presence of God, and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing to Him. Now this is His commandment: that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as He gave us the commandment. And the person who keeps His commandments resides in God, and God in him. Now by this we know that God resides in us: by the Spirit He has given us.”)

Jesus is speaking of gifted Godly love. Cain loved and all unbelievers love “me, mine and ours.” Cain loved to till the soil, likely considered it his and likely grudged offering any part to the Lord.

Believing IN Abel and the faithful still speak to us, though dead.

(Hebrews 11:1-4; “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see. For by it, ’believing IN faith’ the people of old received God’s commendation. By faith we understand that the worlds were set in order at God’s command, so that the visible has its origin in the invisible. (4) By faith Abel offered God a greater sacrifice than Cain, and through his faith he was commended as righteous, because God commended him for his offerings. And through his faith he still speaks, though he is dead.”)

Origin in the invisible? The Greek phrasing emphasizes this point by negating the opposite: “so that what is seen did not come into being from things that are visible.”

God makes a new covenant with His chosen, imputing

a believing IN spirit to the mind, which changes one’s outlook.

Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does. Heb 12:24.

(Hebrews 12:14-29; “Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, for without it no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no one be like a bitter root springing up and causing trouble, and through him many become defiled.

(16-17; And see to it that no one becomes an immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. For you know that later when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no opportunity for repentance, although he sought the blessing with tears“.

(18-21; For you ‘followers of Jesus’ have not come to something that can be touched, to a burning fire and darkness and gloom and a whirlwind and the blast of a trumpet and a voice uttering words such that those who heard begged to hear no more. (20) For they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” In fact, the scene was so terrifying that Moses said, “I shudder with fear.”

(22-24; “But you ’followers of Jesus - by faith’ have come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the assembly and congregation ’church’ of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous, who have been made perfect, (24) and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does.”

(25- Take care not to refuse the One who is speaking! For if they did not escape when they refused the One who warned them on earth, how much less shall we, if we reject the One who warns from heaven? (26) Then His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, “I will once more shake not only the earth but heaven too.” Now this phrase “once more” indicates the removal of what is shaken, that is, of created things, so that what is unshaken may remain. (28) So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe. For our God is indeed a devouring fire.”)

 In the sin nature inherited from Adam we are dead;

in God’s gifted nature we are lifted up with Christ.

(Ephesians 2:1-10; “And although you ‘followers of Jesus’ were1 dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you formerly lived practiced’ according to this world’s present path, according to the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the ruler of the spirit that is now energizing the sons of disobedience, among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest…”

(4- “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! – and He ‘God the Father’ raised us up with Him ‘Jesus’ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, to demonstrate in the coming ages the surpassing wealth of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (8) For by grace you are saved through ‘gifted’ faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; (9) it is not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.”)

Only when spiritually created in Christ Jesus, “born from above” is the desire to practice what is lawlessness in His view taken away.

Grace, mercy and love, chapter 13

Monday, May 29th, 2017

5/29/17, God’s 3rd month, Sivan 3, 5777 until sunset today. To 4,488 in resident churches and individuals “called to follow Jesus.”

People may choose to the degree their fleshly inherited from Adam nature allows. Let’s evaluate that statement. A biblical truth is, “deceived people don’t know they are! until God calls and miraculously opens their mind.” So we should ask; does the deceived Moslem, Hindu or Evangelical know they are? The answer is no! (Most religious people including atheist “which is a religion whether they think it or not” are in their particular self righteous comfort zone.) So loving their “intellectual to themselves” religious notch, that they can’t be persuaded otherwise. Many would even die for their belief. (However sane people who aren’t overly brainwashed “demon processed “ are able to evaluate their circumstance and choose different paths. Among the Evangelical persuasions most people choose their parent’s church, but each persuasion welcomes most any one that’s willing to assimilate.

If you subscribe to Evangelical values; who would you rather have as your neighbor? Certainly not someone that hates you because of your way of life. If you subscribe to Muslimism and believe in its values “perhaps Shania law” would you assimilate with Catholics or Hindus? Perhaps intermarry? Naturally the answer is no to both.

People need to accept a fact; people believing IN particular values are staunch to those values. People need to consider the difference between “believing IN something, opposed to believing that.” (Believers that can assimilate, believers IN can’t.) Thus it’s very difficult to convert a “believing IN” Moslem to Evangelical persuasions. Perhaps more likely to convert a “believing that” Moslem to another persuasion. Likewise with Hindu, Evangelicals and others. We do hear of such conversions from time to time.

Jesus inspired His apostles teaching regarding His followers. God’s holy scriptures teach “Christians not be unequally yoked.” Jesus inspired His apostle Paul to explain.

(2Corinthians 6:14-18; “Do not become partners ’unequally yoked or mismatched’ with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness? And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar - Satan? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever? And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we ‘followers of Jesus’ are the temple of the living God, just as God said, “I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.” (17) Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord.”)

Now, Satan has inspired many counterfeits; whole nations attempting to be godly. Most western nations attempt to be prideful and boast of being a melting pot of ideas and cultures, not mindful that a divided nation can’t stand. Evangelical “believers that” have assimilated, many in Catholic persuasions have married Protestants etc. But “believers IN”  particular persuasions find it difficult to assimilate.

As was revealed in the previous chapter, studying Romans 8:, God does the calling of Jesus‘ followers, He does the choosing and it’s He that puts people in His church - family.

It’s a mystery to the world at large, that spiritual discernment is gifted

to converted to God’s Way people, it was revealed to Paul and he wrote.

(1Cor 2:6-16; “Now we do speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are perishing. Instead we speak the wisdom of God, hidden in a mystery, that God determined before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (9) But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love Him.” God has revealed these to us by the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.  For who among men knows the things of a man except the man’s spirit within him? So too, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we ‘followers of Jesus’ have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God. (13) And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is understood by no one. (16) For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise Him? But we have the mind of Christ.”)

Believers IN Jesus even love their enemies, but can’t assimilate with the worldly. Neither can the deceived “believing IN” Moslem, Hindu, atheist or others.

Jesus also taught us through His apostles; we should know Satan

is on the prowl, deceiving the whole world as he did Eve.

(2Cor 11:3-7; “But I, ’Paul’ am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by his treachery, your minds may be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus different from the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the one you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it well enough! For I, ’Paul’ consider myself not at all inferior to those “super-apostles.” (6) And even if I am unskilled in speaking, yet I am certainly not so in knowledge. Indeed, we have made this plain to you in everything in every way. Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you could be exalted, because I proclaimed the gospel of God to you free of charge?)

Consider; how many Jesus’ are taught among Evangelicals? One perceives Jesus one way and others another. How many doctrines are taught among Evangelicals? How many Jesus’ and doctrines are taught among Catholics? How many doctrines are taught among Moslem’s and Hindu’s? How many truths are there? How many spirits are out there, deceiving the world? But the many are divisionary denominationalist! Many individuals think themselves so intellectual that they don’t need spiritual revelations in order to know God. (Wrong!)

  Gifted revealed faith, Abraham‘s example.

(Galatians 3:1-14; “You1 foolish Galatians! Who has cast a spell on you? Before your eyes Jesus Christ was vividly portrayed as crucified! The only thing I want to learn from you is this: Did you receive the Spirit by doing the works of the law or by believing what you heard?”

The mystery of God’s energizing Holy Spirit imputed to the mind is; “salvation can’t be earned, conjured up or learned.” The Holy Spirit is gifted to God’s predestined called out people who “believed IN” when they heard - understood- God’s Truth Message.
(Gal 3:3-14; “Are you so foolish? Although you began with the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by human effort? Have you suffered so many things for nothing? – if indeed it was for nothing. Does God then give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law or by your believing what you heard? (6) Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, so then, understand that those who believe are the sons of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, proclaimed the gospel to Abraham ahead of time, saying, “All the nations will be blessed in you.” So then those who believe ’IN’ are blessed along with Abraham the Believer. For all who rely on doing the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the book of the law.” Now it is clear no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous one will live by faith. But the law is not based on faith, but the one who does the works of the law will live by them. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) (14) in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.”) As always study the whole. Paul caps off this third chapter, writing.

(Gal 3:29; And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.”) and to Timothy he wrote.

(1Tim 3:16; And we ‘apostles’ all agree, our religion contains amazing revelations:

He ‘Jesus’ was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.”

Believing IN God as He manifest Himself to be in the Holy Scriptures is the Christian’s religion - our belief- God’s religion revealed through God the Son, ‘Jesus

Grace, mercy and love, chapter 12

Sunday, May 28th, 2017

5/27/22, God’s 2nd month, Iyar 3, 5777 until sunset today. To 4,483 “in resident churches” and individuals “called to follow Jesus.” (Observe God’s new moon.)

Before his rebellion and fall Satan was one of the most notable among God’s created angelic beings. He thought so highly of hmself that he desired to replace God and establish his own kingdom. Could be that jealously overcame him, when he learned of God’s plan to create mankind in His own image, likeness and even eventually overseeing angelic beings. Satan’s characteristics are revealed in the holy scriptures as the tempter, deceiver, prince of the power of the air, god of this age and the devil. His nature is that of a liar. (See John 8:44) Apparently Isaiah is referring to Satan in the following text.

(Isaiah 14:12-14; “Look how you have fallen from the sky, O shining one, (‘Lucifer’ King James translation’) son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O conqueror of the nations! You said to yourself, “I will climb up to the sky. Above the stars of El I will set up my throne. I will rule on the mountain of assembly on the remote slopes of Zaphon. I will climb up to the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High!”) This is the only biblical text using the name “Lucifer” as found in the King James Translation.

Some translators believe Isaiah’s text is Canaanite mythology. The story is that, “O shining one son of the dawn  “Helel son of Shachar” developed a coup that failed and was hurled down to the underworld. The demonic king of Babylon is taunted for having similar unrealized delusions of grandeur. Christians see an allusion to the fall of Satan here. (In addition to Jesus characterizing Satan as a “murderer from the beginning, not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies as recorded at John 8:44: Paul refers to Satan as the spirit ruler of the kingdom of the air.

(Ephesians 2:1-3; “And although you, ‘followers of Jesus’ were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you formerly lived according to this world’s present path, according to the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the ruler of the spirit that is now energizing the sons of disobedience, among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest…”) Jesus made mention that He saw Satan fall like lightening. See Luke 10:18.

Satan possesses a particular jealous nature; a demonic lying nature he desires to share with people. Adam and Eve believed his lie, succumbed to it and thus inherited a self serving nature that must die. We all inherited a nature likened to theirs that must be supernaturally changed as we are clothed with Jesus. As we believe IN and practice Jesus’ Ways. All followers of Jesus formerly lived fleshly lives, yielded to the desires of the flesh, practiced self serving agendas; until God called and put each on His truth path.

As we learned from John 3: in the previous chapter, “we must be born from above in order to enter God’s kingdom.” Jesus got elementary with Nicodemus explaining how people are born from above. (John 3:7-8; “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’ (8) The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”) Spiritually born from above is a supernatural occurrence when God called people are gifted with a believing IN mindset and gifted with God‘s energizing Holy Spirit. Jesus’ apostle Paul explained: (“For every one of God’s promises are “Yes” in Him; therefore also through Him the “Amen” is spoken, to the glory we give to God. (21) But it is God who establishes us together with you in Christ and who anointed us, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.”  2Corinthians 1:20-21)

Down payment? The Greek denotes the first payment or first installment as a guarantee or pledge for the completion of the transaction. The term is used figuratively of the Holy Spirit, the blessings promised by God. (See 2Corinthians 5:5, and  Ephesians 1:14)

.(2Cor 5:1-10; “For we know that if our earthly house, the tent we live in, is dismantled, we have a building from God, a house not built by human hands, that is eternal in the heavens. (2) For in this earthly house we groan, because we desire to put on our heavenly dwelling, if indeed, after we have put on our heavenly house, we will not be found naked. For we groan while we are in this tent, since we are weighed down, because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. (5) Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment. Therefore we are always full of courage, and we know that as long as we are alive here on earth we are absent from the Lord – for we live by faith, not by sight. (8) Thus we are full of courage and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So then whether we are alive or away, we make it our ambition to please Him. (10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil.”) As always study the whole.

Being born from above is a converted from a self serving agenda to a mindset desiring to please God. Followers of Jesus should know, “though in our fleshly bodies we are gifted with the mind of Christ.” We have His gifted desire to make it our ambition to please Him. The desire to practice sin is taken away when God the Father and God the Son are revealed..

(Ephesians 1:7-14; “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on us in all wisdom and insight. (9) He did this when He revealed to us the secret of His will, according to His good pleasure that He set forth in Christ, toward the administration of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ – the things in heaven and the things on earth.”

Note how Jesus’ words through Paul parallels his text at Colossians 1:15-20, Hebrews 1: and Jesus’ words through John at 1:1-5, explain that God the Father willed everything to be done through God the Son.

(Eph 1:11-14; “In Christ we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, since we were predestined according to the one purpose of Him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of His will so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, would be to the praise of His glory. (13) And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation) – when you believed in Christ – you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, (14) who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.”)

We followers of Jesus know our Creator has planned it all. Our worship is singular and absolute knowing to whom we belong.

As was shared in the previous chapter, Satan may be followed in a multitudes of ways. Many have thought themselves intellectual enough to figure God out and make Him one to fit their particular notion. Selling their notion to people making merchandise of them. They made figurine images and statutes resembling various animals and people they deemed as heroes to worship, even as God said don’t do it. They looked to the heavens and imagined seeing shapes they thought to be gods to worship. They named heavenly bodies after imaginary gods of their making. Made images to give sacrifice to and gods to bless everything from farming to human fetidity. Many of these pagan mythology practices are carried over and called Christian.

But God the Father had a fathering plan in which He would reveal Himself.

(Hebrews 1:1; “After God spoke long ago in various portions and in various ways to our ancestors through the prophets, in these last days He has spoken to us in a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He created the world.

The Son is the radiance of His glory and the representation of His essence, and He sustains all things by His powerful word, and so when He had accomplished cleansing for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Thus He became so far better than the angels as He has inherited a name superior to theirs.

For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are My son! Today I have fathered you”? And in another place He says, “I will be His father and He will be My son.” But when He again brings His firstborn into the world, He says, “Let all the angels of God worship Him!” And He says of the angels, “He makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire,” but of the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and a righteous scepter is the scepter of Your kingdom.

You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness. So God, your God, has anointed You over Tour companions with the oil of rejoicing.” And, “You founded the earth in the beginning, Lord, and the heavens are the works of Your hands. They will perish, but You continue. And they will all grow old like a garment, and like a robe You will fold them up and like a garment they will be changed, but You are the same and Your years will never run out.” But to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to serve those who will inherit salvation?)
