Genesis and the New Covenant, chapter 50 of 50

To: A people being made temples of God’s spirit” God’s Church  9/28/18, God’s 7th month, Tishrel 19/5779 until sunset.

God the Father’s New Covenant through God the Son isn’t with the world at large, nor with an ethnic group of people, but with “a called out selected beforehand people of His choosing.”

God’s historical Genesis account demonstrates to Believers IN, that we like fleshly Israelites “can’t of our own accord” overcome our inherited from Adam sin nature.” We’re unable to lovingly keep covenant promises from within our fleshly nature outlook. (So God planned and gifting His spirit to those He called, “gave a new nature and eternal life through His Son.” (Demonstrating eternal love, “Creator Jesus gave His life for the remission of sin” and gifted like minded teachers with understanding of the scripture.) Jesus’ apostle Paul was gifted to understand, and teach converted people about love and their place in God’s family.

(Romans 15:1-6; “But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak. For even Christ did not please Himself, but just as it is written, “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on Me.” (4) For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope. Now may the God of endurance and comfort give you unity with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”)

By presenting himself as an angel of light, Satan is allowed to deceive an unsuspecting world in many diverse ways. Always attempting to distort God’s plan as foreshadowed through His Sabbaths. Ultimately, after God takes him out, many people will remorseful repent for having yielded to Satan’s deceptive practices. Then realizing, “what seems right to the fleshly inherited from Adam nature leads to death.”

Like Joseph’s brothers’ intending him harm, God used their deeds for His purpose. So it will be with Satan’s desiring to do us harm. Israelites were told to wait on God’s promised deliverance, “so too, we followers of Jesus told to trust Him for deliverance. We’re gifted with faith like Abraham’s and the spiritual power imputed by God through His spirit. A faith the Israelites didn’t have, because Messiah “Jesus” hadn’t came and been glorified.

(John 7:39; (“Now Jesus said this about the Spirit, whom those who believed IN Him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”)

As we close this Genesis and New Covenant study, consider Doctor Luke’s witnessing of Jesus’ teachings through His apostles and their travels. He and Jesus’ apostles witnessed Jesus’ ascension. Consider his spiritually inspired words.

(Acts 1:1-11; “I wrote the former account, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach until the day He was taken up to heaven, after He had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles He had chosen. To the same apostles also, after His suffering, He presented Himself alive with many convincing proofs. He was seen by them over a forty-day period and spoke about matters concerning the kingdom of God. (4) While He was with them, He declared, “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait there for what My Father promised, which you heard about from Me. For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (6) So when they had gathered together, they began to ask Jesus, “Lord, is this the time when You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” (Those whom God fights for.) Jesus told them, “You are not permitted to know the times or periods that the Father has set by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.” After Jesus had said this, while they were watching, He was lifted up and a cloud hid Him from their sight. (10) As they were still staring into the sky while Jesus was going, suddenly two men in white clothing stood near them and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way you saw Him go into heaven.”)

God’s promises are absolute, His Ways righteous and holy. We Believers IN, “Christians” aren’t above our master.

(John 15:18-27; “If the world hates you, be aware that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you. Remember what I told you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they obeyed My word, they will obey yours too. But they will do all these things to you on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. But they no longer have any excuse for their sin. The one who hates Me hates My Father too. (24) If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both Me and My Father. Now this happened to fulfill the Word that is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without reason.’ When the Advocate “Holy Spirit’ comes, whom I will send you from the Father – the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father – that spirit will testify about Me, and you also will testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.)

Hate ME without reason? (As a technical term this is usually restricted to the Pentateuch (The first five books of the Old Testament.) but here it must have a broader reference, since the quotation is from Psalms 35:19 or Psalms 69:4. The latter is the more likely source for the quoted words, since it is cited elsewhere in John’s Gospel. (See John 2:17 and John 19:29) In both instances in contexts associated with Jesus’ suffering and death.

This and like studies are to  help Believers IN Jesus retain joy, hope and knowing faith, while causing unbelievers to scoff.

The whole world’s spiritual condition is much like the Israelites’  whose practices became much like the Egyptians. They were segregated, jealously treated etc, Joseph’s saving reputation was soon forgotten. Over time the Israelites were corrupted with paganism, “as the world is today.” Their populations grew so much that the Egyptian rulers became fearful of them. Finally taking their resources and making them slaves, was the Egyptian remedy to their fears.

As preplanned, God miraculously delivered the Israelites, by calling and training Moses to be His servant, deliverer and savior to the Israelites. They were so deceived and corrupted with paganism that God only allowed Joshua and Caleb of the original group cross over the Jordan river to the promised to Abraham lands.
