The Gospel, chapter 13

To: “In Resident Churches of God, all Saints” grace and peace from our God. 10/22/18, God‘s 8th month, Chestven 13, 5779 until sunset.

Revelations 12:12, “Therefore you heavens rejoice, and all who reside in them! But woe to the earth and the sea because the devil has come down to you! He is filled with terrible anger, for he knows that he only has a little time!” As always study the whole text.

Sending the Son of God with the gospel “good news” was in God the Father’s plan before Adam’s creation. After His chosen people disregarded their covenant He scattered them among gentile nations, He had Isaiah review His promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Promise to deliver and save Israel.

Isaiah 11:1-3; “A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s root stock, a bud will sprout from his roots. The Lord’s spirit will rest on Him – a spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a spirit that provides the ability to execute plans, a spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the Lord. (3) He will take delight in obeying the Lord. He will not judge by mere appearances, or make decisions on the basis of hearsay.”

Jesse was King David’s dad and from this linage the Son of God “Jesus” came in the flesh to be the Lamb of God, sacrifice Himself for remission of sin and award eternal life.

Isa 11:4; “He will treat the poor fairly and make right decisions for the downtrodden of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth,

and order the wicked to be executed.” (At this point review Rev 21:8.)

Isa 11:5-8; “Justice will be like a belt around His waist, integrity will be like a belt around His hips. A wolf will reside with a lamb, and a leopard will lie down with a young goat; an ox and a young lion will graze together,

as a small child leads them along. (7) A cow and a bear will graze together,

their young will lie down together. A lion, like an ox, will eat straw. A baby will play over the hole of a snake; over the nest of a serpent an infant will put his hand.” (The good news is about the spirit of God living in people, “in this age and more so in the age to come, (remember Joel’s prophecy?) people’s and even animal’s nature will be changed.)

(Isa 11:9; “They will no longer injure or destroy on My entire royal mountain. For there will be universal submission to the Lord’s sovereignty,

just as the waters completely cover the sea.”) (Satan bound, no more deceptions.)

Israel is Reclaimed and Reunited

Isa 11:10-11; “At that time a root from Jesse “Jesus” will stand like a signal flag for the nations. Nations will look to Him for guidance, and His residence will be majestic. At that time the Sovereign Master will again lift His hand to reclaim the remnant of His people from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the seacoasts.” (Today these nations are called USA, Germany, Russia, China etc. The whole world is pagan.)

Isa 11:12-13; “He ’Jesus’ will lift a signal flag for the nations; He will gather Israel’s dispersed people and assemble Judah’s scattered people from the four corners of the earth. Ephraim’s “Joseph’s descendents” jealousy will end, and Judah’s “Jacob’s son and Joseph’ brother” hostility will be eliminated. Ephraim will no longer be jealous of Judah, and Judah will no longer be hostile toward Ephraim.”

Isa 11:14-16; “They ‘Israelites’ will swoop down on the Philistine hills to the west; together they will loot the people of the east. They will take over Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be their subjects. The Lord will divide the gulf of the Egyptian Sea; He will wave His hand over the Euphrates River and send a strong wind, He will turn it into seven dried-up streams, and enable them to walk across in their sandals. (16) There will be a highway leading out of Assyria for the remnant of His people, just as there was for Israel, when they went up from the land of Egypt.”)

(Isa 12:1-6; At that time you ’Israel’ will say: “I praise you, O Lord, for even though You were angry with me, Your anger subsided, and You consoled me. Look, God is my deliverer! I will trust in Him and not fear.

For the Lord gives me strength and protects me; He has become my Deliverer.” (3) Joyfully you will draw water from the springs of deliverance. At that time you will say: “Praise the Lord! Ask Him for help! Publicize His mighty acts among the nations! Make it known that He is unique! Sing to the Lord, for He has done magnificent things, let this be known throughout the earth! (6) Cry out and shout for joy, O citizens of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel acts mightily among you!”)

Sabbaths were made for people’s good, not people for the Sabbath. For this reason the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”) See Matt 12:8.

It’s revealed to we followers of Jesus, that from within our fleshly inherited nature, “spiritual comprehension isn’t the way that seems right.” Prov 14:12 & 16:25; There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way that leads to death.)

Eating forbidden fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden seemed right to Eve and Adam’s fleshly “get” nature. Jesus revealed to Paul and he to we Believers.

(1Cor 12:1-3;” With regard to spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were often led astray by speechless idols, however you were led. So I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.”) Meaning? “No one can know Jesus as Lord, except by revelation.

Unbelieving people do verbalize that Jesus is Lord, but they’re manufactured Jesus fits their religious philosophy.

Jesus kept and spoke on the seventh of seven annual Sabbaths, The Last Great Day, the eighth day of the Feast of Tabernacles when John recorded, “the spirit had not yet been given because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

(John 7:37-29; “On the last day of the feast, The Greatest Day, Jesus stood up and shouted out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me, and let the one who believes IN Me drink. Just as the scripture says, ‘From within Him will flow rivers of living water.’” (Now Jesus said this about the Spirit, whom those who believed IN Him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”)

Fleshly Nicodemus didn’t understand Jesus’ Words regarding. “being born again.” He didn’t understand how the miracle of being gifted with God’s spirit could happen, so Jesus explained both.

(John 3:5-8; Jesus answered, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’ The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the spirit.”) Spiritual comprehension is gifted, we discern its reality when we’re aware that our understanding isn’t from our fleshly nature or schooling.

The apostles’ letters are only to a born again, “spirit begotten” people.”

(1Thess 5:4-11; “But you, brothers and sisters, “followers of Jesus” are not in the darkness for the day to overtake you like a thief would. For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness. So then we must not sleep as the rest, but must stay alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But since we, “Christians” are of the day, we must stay sober by putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet our hope for salvation. For God did not destine us, “we called” for wrath but for gaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that whether we are alert or asleep we will come to life together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.”)

Peter’s prophetic words about the heavens and celestial bodies are misunderstood my many in relationship to God’s making all things new. Many think the heavens will be instantaneously altered, others believe that Jesus’ return spells the end of planet earth. Taking all prophecy in consideration, we understand that the melting away of celestial bodies will be after Jesus’ millennial rule and likely after New Jerusalem comes down. Peter’s words in chapter one must be considered along with all other inspired text.

When talking with His apostles He explained, (“For the Son of Man will come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. I tell you the truth, there are some standing here who will not experience death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” Matt 16:27)

(Matt 17:1-8; “Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain. And Jesus was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light. Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with Jesus. So Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, I will make three shelters – one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My One dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to Him!” When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” He said. “Do not be afraid.” When they looked up, all they saw was Jesus alone.”)

These three witnessed the kingdom of God. Moses, Elijah and many others will be with Jesus during His millennial rule. In Peter’s second letter he speaks of this event.

(2Peter1:16-21; “For we “apostles” did not follow cleverly concocted fables when we made known to you the power and return of our Lord Jesus Christ; no, we were eyewitnesses of His grandeur. For Jesus received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed to Him by the Majestic Glory: “This is My dear Son, in whom I am delighted.” When this voice was conveyed from heaven, we ourselves heard it, for we were with Jesus on the holy mountain. Moreover, we possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attention to this as you would to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. (until Jesus is revealed to your minds) Above all, you do well if you recognize this: No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination, for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.)

It’s amazing to followers of Jesus, that so many can read these marvelous spirit inspired words and still make God out to be one of their private imagination.
