The Gospel according to Luke, chapter 21

To: The Family of God, “His Church” individuals being made atOne with Him. (12/30/18, God 10th month, Tevet 23 until sunset.

The “gospel” as is God’s church is founded on the prophets, apostles, with The Son of God “Jesus” the Corner Stone. Their text includes Genesis through Revelations. Primarily Jesus’ gospel is about making a “chosen people atOne with Himself” saving physical and spiritual Israelites for His purpose. Jesus teaches through Ezekiel, we’ll all stand, “be resurrected” and face judgment individually. (Ezekiel 18:1-3; “The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you mean by quoting this proverb concerning the land of Israel, “‘The fathers eat sour grapes And the children’s teeth become numb?’ (The old proverb has to do with Israel’s children suffering for the sins of the fathers.) (3) “As surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, you will not quote this proverb in Israel anymore! Indeed! All lives are Mine – the life of the father as well as the life of the son is mine. The one ’individual’ who sins will die. (All are born in sin and all die once, (unless belonging to Jesus and alive when He returns.) Believers are looking forward to Israel‘s next deliverance.) (v4-9; “Suppose a man is righteous. He practices what is just and right, does not eat pagan sacrifices on the mountains or pray to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor’s wife, does not have sexual relations with a woman during her period, does not oppress anyone, but gives the debtor back whatever was given in pledge, does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and clothes the naked, does not engage in usury or charge interest, but refrains from wrongdoing, promotes true justice between men, and follows My statutes and observes My regulations by carrying them out. That man is righteous; he will certainly live, declares the sovereign Lord.”) Being upright in all these areas requires a new gifted nature.

(Ezek 18:10-13; “Suppose such a man has a violent son who sheds blood and does any of these things mentioned previously (though the father did not do any of them). He “the son” eats pagan sacrifices on the mountains, defiles his neighbor’s wife, oppresses the poor and the needy, commits robbery, does not give back what was given in pledge, prays to idols, performs abominable acts, engages in usury and charges interest. Will he live? He will not! Because he has done all these abominable deeds he will certainly die. He will bear the responsibility for his own death.”

(Ezek 18:14-18; “But suppose he in turn has a son who notices all the sins his father commits, considers them, and does not follow his father’s example. He does not eat pagan sacrifices on the mountains, does not pray to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor’s wife, does not oppress anyone or keep what has been given in pledge, does not commit robbery, gives his food to the hungry, and clothes the naked, refrains from wrongdoing, does not engage in usury or charge interest, carries out My regulations and follows My statutes. He will not die for his father’s iniquity; he will surely live.” As for his father, because he practices extortion, robs his brother, and does what is not good among his people, he will die for his iniquity.”

(Ezek 18:19-20; “Yet you “Israelites’ say, ‘Why should the son not suffer for his father’s iniquity?’ When the son does what is just and right, and observes all my statutes and carries them out, he will surely live. The person who sins is the one who will die. A son will not suffer for his father’s iniquity, and a father will not suffer for his son’s iniquity; the righteous person will be judged according to his righteousness, and the wicked person according to his wickedness.”

(Ezek 18:21-22; “But if the wicked person turns from all the sin he has committed and observes all My statutes and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die. None of the sins he has committed will be held against him; because of the righteousness he has done, he will live.” (Looking forward to gifted repentance.)

(Ezek 18:23-24; “Do I actually delight in the death of the wicked, declares the sovereign Lord.? Do I not prefer that he turn “repent” from his wicked conduct and live? “But if a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and practices wrongdoing according to all the abominable practices the wicked carry out, will he live? All his righteous acts will not be remembered; because of the unfaithful acts he has done and the sin he has committed, he will die.”

(Ezek 18:25-29; “Yet you ’Israelites’ say, ‘The Lord’s conduct is unjust!’ Hear, O house of Israel: Is My conduct unjust? Is it not your conduct that is unjust? When a righteous person turns back from his righteousness and practices wrongdoing, he will die for it; because of the wrongdoing he has done, he will die. (27) When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will preserve his life. Because he considered and turned from all the sins he had done, he will surely live; he will not die. Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The Lord’s conduct is unjust!’ Is My conduct unjust, O house of Israel? Is it not your conduct that is unjust? “Therefore I will judge each person according to his conduct, O house of Israel, declares the sovereign Lord. Repent and turn from all your wickedness; then it will not be an obstacle leading to iniquity. Throw away all your sins you have committed and fashion yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why should you die, O house of Israel? For I take no delight in the “eternal” death of anyone, declares the sovereign Lord. Repent and live!) See Philippians 2;14, Paul understood and taught “the One giving the desire to live upright in God’s view, is God.

Adam, Abel, Seth and Enoch, are praised for having walked with their Creator. These had revealed faith that the Lord would one day rule as king on earth. (See Genesis 5:22-24 and at Heb 11:5) Our Lord’s brother, ‘Jude’ shares Jesus’ prophecy through Enoch, about the greedy walking in Cain’s path. About dangerous men serving themselves, twice dead, for whom the utter depth of eternal darkness has been reserved. God’s truth regarding the resurrections, Jesus’ first and second coming, judgment, the wicked dying a second death etc, was revealed to God’s chosen.

(Jude 1:14-16; ““Now Enoch, the seventh in descent beginning with Adam, even prophesied of them, ‘unbelievers’ saying, “Look! The Lord is coming with thousands and thousands of His holy ones, “loyal angels and Saints” to execute judgment on all and convict every person of all their thoroughly ungodly deeds that they have committed and of all the harsh words that ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. These are grumblers and fault-finders, who go wherever their desires lead them, and give bombastic speeches, enchanting folks for their own gain.”) Every worldly religion, “organizations of men” fit this category. When Jesus came doing His miraculous works; His followers assumed He was going to establish His kingdom on earth at that time.

(John 6:38-40; Jesus said; “For I have come down from heaven not to do My own will but the will of the One who sent Me. Now this is the will of the One who sent Me – that I should not lose one person of every one He has given Me, but raise them all up at the last day. For this is the will of My Father – for everyone who looks on the Son and believes IN Him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”) This inherited gift of eternal life through Jesus was taught through Enoch, Moses, David and others. God’s annual holy day “Pentecost” “festival of first fruits” always looked forward to God’s spirit living in people. (Making each atOne with Himself.) When God’s spirit was gifted on that first Pentecost after Jesus’ ascension, God revealed to Peter and He to us, the mind transforming significance of God’s spirit in us.

(Acts 2:14-36; “But Peter stood up with the eleven, raised his voice, and addressed them: “You men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, know this and listen carefully to what I say. In spite of what you think, these people are not drunk, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. But this is what was spoken about through the prophet Joel: (‘And in the last days it will be, (The phrase, “in the last days” is not quoted from Joel, but represents Peter’s interpretive explanation of the current events as falling “in the last days.”) God says, that I will pour out My Spirit on all people, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. Even on My servants, both men and women, I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. And I will perform wonders in the sky above and miraculous signs on the earth below, blood and fire and clouds of smoke. The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes. And then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” Much of Joel and Peter’s prophecy is yet to be fulfilled.”

(Acts 2:22-28; “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man clearly attested to you by God with powerful deeds, wonders, and miraculous signs that God performed among you through Jesus, just as you yourselves know – this Jesus, who was handed over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you executed by nailing Him to a cross at the hands of Gentiles. But God raised Him up, having released Him from the pains of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held in its power. For David says about Jesus, ‘I saw the Lord always in front of me, for He is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced; my body also will live in hope, because God will not leave my soul, “spirit” in Hades, nor permit Your Holy One, “Jesus” to experience decay. You have made known to me David” the paths of life; you will make me full of joy with your presence.’) All in the foreknowledge and planning of God. Knowledge God revealed to Enoch and others formally mentioned, “people long before Moses.”

(Acts 2:29-36; “Brothers, I “Peter” can speak confidently to you about our forefather David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. So then, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat One of his descendants on his throne, David by foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, “grave” nor did Jesus’ body experience decay. This Jesus, God raised up, and we are all witnesses of it. So then, exalted to the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, Jesus has poured out what you both see and hear. (34) For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says, ‘The Lord, “God the Father” said to my Lord, “God the Son, Jesus” Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’ Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”)

How abominable to worship a plastic image of a baby or an image of a man on a cross. The all powerful Lord of Lords is at the right hand of God the Father, waiting to be sent with thousands of His holy angels and Saints, to bring righteous judgment, to this demonically deceived world. (This is the good news God planned from the foundation of the world and Enoch taught long before the flood.) What love, God the Father and God the Son, “Jesus” demonstrated by the shedding His blood for the remission of the world’s sins. What love to plan such awesomeness for His created people. What love the Father to allow His only begotten Son, be sacrificed for our sins. Jesus’ life was not taken, He gave His life!
