The Gospel according to Luke, chapter 23

To: The Family of God, “His Church” people being made atOne with Him, & scattered Israelites (1/2/19, God 10th month, Tevet 25 until sunset.

This world’s populations is perishing, being spiritually dumbed down and demonically confused. So called educated populations and it’s religions are in the same mental and spiritual mind set as were the chief priest, king Agrippa and Festus, when Jesus’ apostle Paul witnessed to them. Paul had occasion to witness to these before being sent to Rome for trial. Let’s review Paul’s witnessing, regarding His Conversion to Jesus’ Way. Paul explained that he was in the process of imprisoning people that professed belief in Jesus when he was abruptly called.

(Acts 26:12-14; “While doing this very thing, as I was going to Damascus with authority and complete power from the chief priests, about noon along the road, Your Majesty, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining everywhere around me and those traveling with me. When we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? You are hurting yourself by kicking against the goads.’”) World’s populations, especially it’s divided denominations, claiming to believe in Jesus are kicking against the goads, (an idiom for stubborn resistance.) Paul, an intellectual, spoke several languages and called himself a Pharisee, thought he believed in the God of Abraham. Considering himself Abraham’s descendents, believed in creation, angels and keeping the law as given through Moses. (Paul held to stubborn resistance regarding Jesus’ resurrection and ascension; even witnessing deacon Stephen’s murder.) (Study Acts 7:) Paul’s mind was closed as he held to traditions that opposed Jesus’ revealed Way. His witness continues, before Agrippa and Festus.

(Acts 26:15-18; “So I “Paul” said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But get up and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this reason, to designate you in advance as a servant and witness to the things you have seen and to the things in which I will appear “reveal” to you. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, to open their eyes so that they turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified “set aside” by faith IN Me.’”) Paul didn’t consider himself a persecutor of Jesus, when he consented to Stephen’s murder, going about the high priest’s bidding and arresting Jesus’ followers. He was self-righteously following the dictates of his religion, “his faith.” (What’s your religion? Which denomination is the foundation for your faith?) Know this, there’s one God and one truth, review Jesus’ parable about His kingdom. (Matt 13:44-50; “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, hidden in a field, that a person found and hid. Then because of joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he found a pearl of great value, he went out and sold everything he had and bought it. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea that caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, they pulled it ashore, sat down, and put the good fish into containers and threw the bad away. It will be this way at the end of the age. Angels will come and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”) Back to Paul’s witnessing.

(Acts 26:19-20; “Therefore, King Agrippa, I “Paul” was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but I declared to those in Damascus first, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God and perform deeds consistent with repentance.”)

Followers of Jesus aren’t likely to experience a heavenly vision, but He does gives the desire to search the Word of God, look to His heavenly expanse, order and consider who is it’s Sustainer. We can choose to search out, consider sources and foundations of traditions we practice. We can read and know the things God says are an abomination to Himself. We can know Jesus’ message through Paul, is to Israelites and Gentiles. Jesus sent Paul to unbelievers He was calling to repentance! As is true today, Jesus’ message through His servants is a call to repentance. The uncalled will keep to their tradition while the called are led to discern the need to change from old practices. Paul continues.

(Acts 26:21-23; “For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple courts and were trying to kill me. I have experienced help from God to this day, and so I stand testifying to both small and great, saying nothing except what the prophets and Moses said was going to happen: “that the Christ was to suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, to proclaim light, both to our people and to the Gentiles.”) Paul admitted as we should, “that he was unable to recognize God’s truth before his mind was miraculous opening and he converted. Jesus opened Paul’s understanding as He does each called person, “to know the prophets and Moses’ writings were God inspired.” Israelites, and gentiles “whose turf Jesus and His apostles invaded with His truth, wanted to kill them. (Satan’s power on people’s beliefs is testaments to this divided world’s condition.) Our Creator is allowing Satan to be this world’s temporary god. Allowing Satan to manifest himself as an angel of light. God revealed to Paul, who shares with us.

(2Cor 4:1-6; “Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy, we do not become discouraged. But we have rejected shameful hidden deeds, not behaving with deceptiveness or distorting the word of God, but by open proclamation of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience before God. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing, among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe so they would not see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.”

(2Cor 11:12- “And what I “Paul” am doing I will continue to do, so that I may eliminate any opportunity for those who want a chance to be regarded as our equals in the things they boast about. For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles (priest, pastors, reverends, fathers, overseers, rabbis, scholars etc.) of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their actions.”) Remember, One God, one truth. Back to Paul’s witnessing.

(Acts 26:24-29; “As Paul was saying these things in his defense, Festus exclaimed loudly, “You have lost your mind, Paul! Your great learning is driving you insane!” But Paul replied, “I have not lost my mind, most excellent Festus, but am speaking true and rational words. For the king knows about these things, and I am speaking freely to him, because I cannot believe that any of these things has escaped his notice, for this was not done in a corner. Do you believe the prophets, King Agrippa? I know that you believe. Agrippa said to Paul, “In such a short time are you persuading me to become a Christian?” Paul replied, “I pray to God that whether in a short or a long time not only you but also all those who are listening to me today could become such as I am, except for these chains.”) Each follower of Jesus agrees with Paul, “hoping readers of this text who practice pagan traditions, called Christian but are not, become such as we.

(Luke 13:10-17; “Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath, and a woman was there who had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely. When Jesus saw her, He called her to Himself and said, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” Then He placed His hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. But the president of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, “There are six days on which work should be done! So come and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.” Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from its stall, and lead it to water? Then shouldn’t this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be released from this imprisonment on the Sabbath day?” When Jesus said this all his adversaries were humiliated, but the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things He was doing.”)

Whether directly or indirectly demonic spirits cause problems. Satan is the cause of sin’s result. Whether caring for the soil, family relationships or worship, Satan ultimately inserts enough half truths to distort truth. God knows all, He can shorten life, lengthen or intervene when He chooses. We are reminded through Solomon that time and chance does happen.

(Eccl 9:9-12; “Enjoy life with your beloved wife during all the days of your fleeting life that God has given you on earth during all your fleeting days; for that is your reward in life and in your burdensome work on earth. Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might, because there is neither work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave, the place where you will eventually go. Again, I observed this on the earth: the race is not always won by the swiftest, the battle is not always won by the strongest; prosperity does not always belong to those who are the wisest, wealth does not always belong to those who are the most discerning, nor does success always come to those with the most knowledge – for time and chance may overcome them all. Surely, no one knows his appointed time!) Jesus’ instantaneous healings and those through His apostles, demonstrate His power to right or alter sin’s result. (All rebellious notions to God’s Way is sin.) With Satan’s coaching; Adam and Eve put humanity on the sin path that leads to eternal death. Jesus came, to ultimately put humanity on the believing IN, obedient path that leads to eternal life. (Satan’s choosing and leading people to become disobedient will ultimately work for the good of God‘s chosen.) Ultimately Satan is to be destroyed and humanity given to understand the effect of lawlessness against God. (God’s allowing Satan to be the god of unbelievers, will ultimate serve God’s purpose, as Satan’s purpose is revealed.) When Satan’s time expires the world will witness the result of his way. Instantaneous healings of spirit and body are on the horizon. Understand, only God has the authority to say what is lawless! “What is sin.” Ultimately Jesus will take away all sin! The last result being death. Then New Jerusalem and God the Father will come down. REMEMBER Jesus is revealed to take away sin, “lawlessness” and its result.

(1 John 3:4-5; “Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; indeed, sin is lawlessness. And you know that Jesus was revealed to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.) (Luke 13:18-20; “Thus Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? To what should I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the wild birds nested in its branches.” Again Jesus said, “To what should I compare the kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of flour until all the dough had risen.”) “God’s Way” will flourish when Satan and the result of his way is destroyed. All in God’s plan since creation.”).. (Rev 21:5-8; “And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new!” Then He said to me, “Write it down, because these Words are reliable and true.” He also said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one who is thirsty I will give water free of charge from the spring of the water of life. The one who conquers “overcomes to the end” will inherit these things, and I will be his “their” God and he “they” will be My son “children.” But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, idol worshipers, and all those who lie, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. That is the second death.”) The last enemy to be destroyed is death. Study 1Corinthians 15:.
