Paul to the Phillippians and commentary, chapter 2

To: “Churches of God” Called to be Spiritual Israelites, atOne with Jesus. 4/6/19, God’s 1st month 1st day of Nisan, 5779 until sunset. Today is God’s first month, first day, a new season for Believers IN God. Look up and observe His new moon. Satan has totally camouflaged God’s Way by influencing people to change times, customs and obedience as he did Adam and Eve. Satan can’t sustain nor change God’s sun, moon, and planet movements. He can’t change this earth’s movements in relation to the sun, nor God’s set aside holy seasons. As god of this earth’s populations he does have it’s populations looking to a pagan calendar, days honoring pagan gods etc. Jesus said it; (Matt 24:24-25; “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the Elect. Remember, I have told you ahead of time.”)

Satan has camouflaged Jesus in the minds of organized denominations to think of Him as “one who came to change God the Father’s crude way.” It’s another of many demonic lies perpetuated on the world through organized religion and false science. The populations at large don’t want to know the real Jesus, who is “Re-Creator, Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer, Saviour, Mediator and coming King of Kings. See John 1:1-5, Hebrews 1 and Paul’s identifying Jesus at; (Colossians 1:15-20 may say it best: (He’s the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, for all things in heaven and on earth were created by Him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through Him and for Him. He Himself is before all things and all things are held together ’sustained’ in Him. He’s the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that He Himself may become first in all things. For God ‘the Father’ was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in the Son and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself by making peace through the blood of His cross – through Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven.”)

Jesus is the Lord God who Re-Created this earth from its chaotic after flood condition, created animal life, Adam in His own image, then Eve. He communed with Adam, Eve, Satan, Cain, Abel Enoch, Seth and Noah. After the Noah day flood, the Lord God Jesus called Abraham and made promises to him regarding His descendents and particularly his descendent Jesus. He gave Abraham’s grandson Jacob the name change “Israel” meaning, “God fights.” After 430 years from the time promises were given to Abraham Jesus called and delivered Israel from Egyptian bondage through Moses.

(Leviticus 23:1-8; The Lord ‘Jesus’ spoke to Moses: “Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘These are the Lord’s appointed times which you must proclaim as holy assemblies – My appointed times: (The Weekly Sabbath) (3) “‘Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy assembly. You must not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the Lord in all the places where you live.

(The Festival of Passover and Unleavened Bread) (4) “‘These are the Lord’s appointed times, holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed time. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, is a Passover offering to the Lord. Then on the fifteenth day of the same month will be the festival of unleavened bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread. On the first day ‘the 15ththere will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work. You must present a gift to the Lord for seven days and the seventh day ’the 21stis a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.’’)

The Lord God Jesus’ covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; “the Israelites” was a covenant from promise to Abraham; “The One Promising that preplanned covenant was Jesus. That law covenant instituted with the Israelites was a result of the promises to Abraham. Israelites through Moses promised to obey their God as a wife and Jesus promised protection as a husband. Israelites broke the promise, “as a wife committing adultery” so the Lord God Jesus scattered them as promised, “but Jesus’ promise was perpetual” “only altering them to a permanent spiritual covenant with a called spiritual people “who’d be spiritual Israelites” after His death. That ultimate spiritual promise being preplanned “eternal life” through Jesus shed blood for the remission of sin. Allow Jesus’ explanation through Paul.

(Galatians 3:15-18; “Brothers and sisters, I offer an example from everyday life: When a covenant has been ratified, even though it is only a human contract, no one can set it aside or add anything to it. (Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his descendant. Scripture does not say, “and to the descendants,” referring to many, but “to your descendant,” referring to one, who is Christ.) (17) What I am saying is this: The law that came four hundred thirty years later does not cancel a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to invalidate the promise. For if the inheritance is based on the law, it is no longer based on the promise, but God graciously gave it to Abraham through the promise.

(Gal 3:19-22; Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the descendant ‘Jesus’ to whom the promise had been made. It was administered through angels by an intermediary. Now an intermediary is not for one party alone, but God is One. (21) Is the law therefore opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. But the scripture imprisoned everything and everyone under sin so that the promise could be given – because of the faithfulness of Jesus Christ – to those who believe. (We Sons of God Are Heirs of Promise)

(Gal 3:23- “Now before ‘Jesus’’ faith came we were held in custody under the law, being kept as prisoners until the coming faith would be revealed. Thus the law had become our guardian until Christ, so that we could be declared righteous by ‘believing IN’ faith. (25) But now that ‘Jesus’ “believing IN” faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through “His” faith. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (28) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female – for all of you are One in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.”)

Jesus’ gifted faith doesn’t do away with the law, “but magnifies it.” He said; (Matt 5:27-28; “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery. But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” PLUS the covenant seal of belonging “circumcision” was after the promise to Abraham and always looked forward to spiritual circumcision of the heart. (Rom 2:28-29; “For a person is not a Jew ‘Christian’ who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision something that is outward in the flesh, but someone is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart by the Spirit and not by the written code. This person’s praise is not from people but from God.”) So it is with every part of the law.

God the Father and God the Son have pre-planned all things. Even beyond New Jerusalem’s coming down.

(1Cor 15:24-28; “Then comes the ‘millennial’ end, when He “Jesus” hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when He has brought to an end all rule and all authority and power. For He “Jesus” must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be eliminated is death. For He “God the Father” has put everything in subjection under His “Jesus” feet. But when it says “everything” has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the One “God the father” who put everything in subjection to Him. (Jesus) And when all things are subjected to Him, “God the Father” then the Son Himself will be subjected to the One “God the Father” who subjected everything to Him, so that God may be all in all.”)

Paul believed IN Jesus and the things He inspired David to write. He believed in gifted immortality through Jesus. Paul repented for having lived the way that had previously seemed right. Thus he was, “born from above.” Paul was gifted with a nature change and his mind was supernaturally opened to understand the holy scriptures. Things he once loved had no more importance and “the love of Jesus was imputed to his mind.” It was Paul’s evidence that he had been “born from above.” He’d been a Pharisee, “a denominationalist” and keeper of the law in worshipful fashion. His previous practices had been controlled by the law. Believing Israelites were God’s only chosen people. After his conversion he understood that loving Jesus “was to love His Way.” Loving God’s was to love His commandments and thus the fulfillment of the spiritual requirements of the law.

( Paul continues) (1Corinthians 15:29-34; “Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, then why are they baptized for them? Why too are we in danger every hour? Every day I am in danger of death! This is as sure as my boasting in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord. (32) If from a human point of view I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what did it benefit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Sober up as you should, and stop sinning! For some have no knowledge of God – I say this to your shame!

The Resurrected Body, likened to a planted seed.

(1Cor 15:35-41; “But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” Fool! What you sow will not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare seed – perhaps of wheat or something else. But God gives it a body just as He planned, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. All flesh is not the same: People have one flesh, animals have another, birds and fish another. And there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. The glory of the heavenly body is one sort and the earthly another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon and another glory of the stars, for star differs from star in glory.”

(1Cor 15:42-49; “It is the same with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, is raised imperishable. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. (45) So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living person”; the last Adam, “Jesus” became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. The first man, “Adam” is from the earth, made of dust; the second man, “Jesus” is from heaven. Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust, and like the one from heaven, so too those who are heavenly. (49) And just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear the image of the man of heaven.”

(1Cor 15:50-55; “Now this is what I am saying, brothers and sisters: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. (53) For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (Quote from Isa 25:8 & Hosea 13:14)

(1Cor 15:56-58; “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”)

The promise of salvation through Jesus “the Descendent” was before the law as given to Moses. Every aspect of the law looked forward to it’s spiritual magnification.
