Paul to the Phillippians and commentary, chapter 3

To: People Called to be Spiritual Israelites, atOne with Jesus. 4/8/19, God’s 1st month 3rd day of Nisan, 5779 until sunset.

Had Jesus not called Paul, revealed Himself and understanding the holy scripture he’d never have understood the spiritual magnification of God’s law, nor why the law was given. Pharisees like Christendom denominations have their particular regulations, “that if practiced was the way to salvation.” Though they may say different, Judaism and Christendom’s actions indicate a believing in methodology as the way to salvation; “thus Paul would’ve remained a Pharisee type in doctrinal thinking, had Jesus not revealed and gifted “the spirit of truth.” Though many in Christendom cultures teach a “saved by grace doctrine” they practice do’s and don’ts parallel to handed down theories of their particular denomination. That is, “they make merchandise of their parishioners.”

Paul shared it with God’s church at Rome.

(Rom 7:4-6; “So, my brothers and sisters, you ‘followers of Jesus’ also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the One who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful desires aroused by the law, were active in the members of our body to bear fruit for death. But now we have been released from the law, because we ‘followers of Jesus’ have died to what controlled us, so that we may serve in the new life of the Spirit and not under the old written code.”) (Paul was teaching the spiritual magnification of the Law.) It’s about being immersed in Jesus. Believers IN Jesus must die to what had previously controlled our thoughts and practices. Namely, the inherited desires of the flesh, “stubborn rebelliousness toward God’s law, and conscious guilt when not kept perfectly.” When Jesus is revealed, we understand by revealing Himself, “He loved us first and gifted us with a desire to be atOne with Him.” God’s call to genuine repentance for having lived for self and turn to Him is the change He likened to the wind, “gifting the spirit of truth” it’s the “born from above” gifted experience.

Jesus explained to Nicodemus. (John 3:5-8: Jesus answered, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’ (8) The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”)

When we love the spiritual intent of God’s law, “it’s magnification” we’re worshiping in His gifted spirit and truth. Being Christ like is to put on Jesus, as being “clothed with and immersed in His Views. Yielding to His spirit of truth, leads to spiritual comprehension.

After Paul’s conversion, and his receiving gifted evidence of the imputation of God’s spirit, he understood immortality was gifted through believing IN Jesus. He knew he’d be resurrected, as was Jesus. That his mind was united with Jesus’ spirit, now “born from above” immortality gifted to live eternally with God the Father and God the Son. He’d see Jesus as He is.

Satan has sold this world’s naïve populations on his lie, a false theory to “think people are born immortal.” Various concepts include evolution and Hindu’s think that “each person comes back to life in differing forms; perhaps another body, other parents or perhaps an animal.” Cattle are holy to some Hindu sects.

All people are born mortal beings with a particular kind of flesh. We’re made in God’s image and mortal until immortality is gifted through Jesus. Immortality like deliverance “is by promise to those called to be atOne with God the Son and God the Father.” It’s being gifted with a yielding to God spirit, “that loves what He loves and particularly His Way. Such called people are gifted to believe IN Christ Jesus as He manifest Himself to be through His prophets and apostles. (Revisit John 1:1-5, Colossians 1”15-20 & Hebrews 1:

Jesus’ human birth planned from the foundation of the world. (Luke 1:30-35; “So the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God! Listen: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name Him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob, “spiritual and physical Israelitesforever, and His kingdom will never end.”

Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?” The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be holy; He will be called the Son of God.”) Through His prophets, Jesus had foretold His own birth. His being the Messiah and born in David’s heritage line.

Paul explained this to God’s church at Rome.

(Rom 6:21-23; “So what benefit did you then reap from those things that you are now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death. But now, freed from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life. (23) For the payoff “wages” of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, “immortalityin Christ Jesus our Lord.”)

Converted to be followers of Jesus people are rightly ashamed of their previous beliefs and practices; “understanding the end result of those things were eternal death. Now having been led to believe IN Jesus, Christians are freed from those practices leading to eternal death and gifted with a compulsion to put on Jesus. Believers IN are now recipients of the gift of eternal life. “immortality”

God’s Word proclaims that He works in mysterious ways. He chooses whose minds, to open. Jesus’ apostle Paul was led to explain that God saves some through the foolishness of preaching, “teaching.” Manner of revealing is God’s prerogative. God can use words or other means to penetrate minds and reveal Himself. Again, Paul explains to God’s people.

(1Corinthians 1:18-19; “For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.”) (Quote from Isaiah 29:14.)

Godly wisdom is in these words. Believers IN think spiritually, while fleshly people are prone to think, “does that preacher have a theological degree?”

(1Cor 1:20-21; “Where is the wise man? Where is the expert in the Mosaic law? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.”) Teaching about the prophetic fulfillment of Jesus’ coming, His message, powers and promises, penetrate the minds of those being called.

(1Cor 1:22-23; “For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom, but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.”) We must teach the awesomeness of God to this world’s populations.

(1Cor 1:24-25; “But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”) Unmistakably, Jesus’ apostles taught that understanding was to the called! Theological training can’t give spiritual comprehension.

(1Cor 1:26-31; “Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position. But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong. God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something, so that no one can boast in His presence. He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”) We can’t boast of having spiritual understanding: it’s gifted to those God called by promise.

Satan uses many devices that hinder people from believing IN God the Father and God the Son. Remember why Jesus said He spoke to the crowds in parables? After telling a crowd the parable of the sower, Jesus explained privately to the twelve.

(Mark 4:10-20; “When Jesus was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parables. He said to them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those outside, everything is in parables, so that although they look they may look but not see, and although they hear they may hear but not understand, so they may not repent and be forgiven.” (13) Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Then how will you understand any parable? The sower “teacher” sows the Word. These “people” are the ones on the path where the Word is sown: Whenever they hear, immediately Satan comes and snatches the Word that was sown in them. These are the ones sown on rocky ground: As soon as they hear the word, they receive it with joy. But they have no root in themselves and do not endure. Then, when trouble or persecution comes because of the Word, immediately they fall away. Others are the ones sown among thorns: They are those who hear the Word, but worldly cares, the seductiveness of wealth, and the desire for other things come in and choke the Word, and it produces nothing. But these are the ones sown on good soil: They hear the Word and receive it and bear fruit, one thirty times as much, one sixty, and one a hundred.”)

We should know Satan is powerful and God is purposely allowing him to be the god of this world. Our overcoming the pulls of our fleshly nature and Satan’s obstacles are the overcoming to the end we apparently need. Satan’s enticements have not changed since the day he sold Eve on eating forbidden fruit.

Many things hinder God’s Truth from taking hold. Some hindrance are tools of the lying Satan, “who wants us to miss out on eternal life.” Because of fleshly hostility and unbelief, God’s truth doesn’t penetrate until He calls, reveals Himself and gives the desire to be atOne with Himself. Thus Jesus’ Word through Paul; (Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position. But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong. God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something, so that no one can boast in His presence. He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”) 1Cor 1:26-31) Remember God calls whom He will and hardens whom He wills, “all in the grand purpose of His kingdom.
