Paul to the Phillippians and commentary, chapter 9

To: People Called to be Spiritual Israelites, atOne with Jesus. 4/17/19, God’s 1st month 12th day of Nisan, 5,779 until sunset.

(John 20:30-31; Now Jesus performed many other miraculous signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.”

(Luke 19:41-44; “Now when Jesus approached and saw the city, He wept over it, saying, “If you had only known on this day, even you, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. (43) For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and surround you and close in on you from every side. They will demolish you – you and your children within your walls – and they will not leave within you one stone on top of another because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”) Seemingly, this prophecy is yet to happen, unless God the Father chooses to shorten time, “for the sake of the Elect.” Israel’s enemies are now surrounded Jerusalem and dedicated to the destruction of Jews - Israelites. They will do the things our Lord God Jesus views abominable. Matthew recorded Jesus.

(Matt 24:15-22; “So when you see the abomination of desolation – spoken about by Daniel the prophet – standing in the holy place (let the reader understand) then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. The one on the roof must not come down to take anything out of his house and the one in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! (20) Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great suffering unlike anything that has happened from the beginning of the world until now, or ever will happen. (22) And if. those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the Elect those days will be cut short.) Israelites and particularly the Jews are hated by condoners of worldly traditional values, haters of God’s righteousness, “mainly because to them are the oracles of God committed.)

(Romans 3:1-4; “Therefore what advantage does the Jew have, or what is the value of circumcision? Actually, there are many advantages. First of all, the Jews were ‘are’ entrusted with the oracles of God. What then? If some ‘Jews’ did not believe, does their unbelief nullify the faithfulness of God? Absolutely not! Let God be proven true, and every human being shown up as a liar, just as it is written: “so that you will be justified in your words and will prevail when you are judged.”) (Quote Psalms 51:4)

Likely it was on the 11th or 12th day of Nisan when Jesus entered the temple courts. (Luke 19:45-48; Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were selling things there, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of robbers!” (Quote Jeremiah 7:11) (47) Jesus was teaching daily in the temple courts. The chief priests and the experts in the law and the prominent leaders among the people were seeking to assassinate Him, but they could not find a way to do it, for all the people hung on His words.”)

Satan’s attempt to reveal himself and his followers as angels of light offers some truth and many half truths. Undeniably they do some good. Most worldly denominational leaders support various community programs and we all should agree that it’s good when the hungry are fed, needy clothed and schooled. Good deeds will be rewarded when done altruistically. We should know organizational good deeds are bureaucratic, about forty percent of donations go to salaries and promotional advertisements. The Christian principle is individual direct support to the needy. Bureaucracies serve themselves first. Our point? Organizations and their programs camouflage their main purpose. Which is to provide income for themselves and co-workers. Generally the giving public never examine organizations’ inner workings. (Remember, the Christian duty is to prove all things, hold fast to what’s good and overcome our fleshly nature to the end.” see 1 Thess 5:21-24)

Jesus’ message” must be the criteria for worship.

Satan’s main demonic tools is to manifest himself and followers as “angels of light” to deceive the naïve. His fleshly good works is void of God’s truth, and why Jesus inspired Paul’s penning the following.

(2Cor 11:13-15; “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their actions.”)

Polytheist belief in more than one deity and pantheist believe God and the material world are one and the same thing. God being present in everything is palmed off in doing community services, “particularly to like minded people.” Such manifesting themselves as angels of light to deceive naïve people. It’s revelation when God’s people understanding the characteristics, ways, promises and purposes of God. Spiritually led people seek God’s way and prayerfully go to His Word to discern truth, “not organizations.” We need to know to whom God’s promises are made and to whom God is speaking. (For example in John’s fourteenth chapter, “Jesus isn’t speaking to every future Believer IN; but to His apostles.) Verses 12-14 had their initial fulfillment during the apostolic time. (“I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in Me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14;12-14) But greater fulfillments are coming.

Jesus’ healing people when Peter’s shadow passed over them, is one of those greater works He promised. Jesus may have consider this a greater than His feeding thousands. Peter wasn’t thinking about each individual when his shadow passed over and saying a quick prayer asking for healing. Jesus did these healing to demonstrate “His working through His apostle.” In the case of such healings, it wasn’t knowing faith nor an attempt to conjure it up. Attempting to conjure up faith has no benefit, “knowing faith is gifted!” Exercising hope faith is good when we know who Jesus is, but why ask when we know we aren’t willing to be obedient. We’re attempting to share Jesus’ apostle’s understanding about their knowing and hope faith.

Peter demonstrated gifted knowing faith when he was called to Joppa after Tabitha died. (Acts 9:40-43; “When Peter arrived he sent people outside, knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. He gave her his hand and helped her get up. Then he called the Saints and widows and presented her alive. This became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed IN the Lord. So Peter stayed many days in Joppa with a man named Simon, a tanner.“) Prior to Peter’s prayer, “Jesus gave him knowing faith.”

Hope faith prayer to God should be from the point of view that God knows best; thus we ask, “according to Your will.” We should understand in our submit to God, that we’re mere people who don’t know what’s best, in His overall plan. Understand, unbelievers’ prayers are only to gods of their imagination. Consider Paul’s definition of knowing - revealed faith, in his letter to the Hebrews.

(Heb 11:1-3; “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, convinced of what we do not see. For by it ‘faith’ the people of old received God’s commendation. By faith we understand that the worlds were set in order at God’s command, so that the visible has its origin in the invisible.”) The King James Version reads; “now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”)

The apostles’ letters are to Believers IN, “a called out people to be Christ like.” People God was or is making His circumcision of the heart covenant with! So lets repeat from a previous study.

When Paul’s coworker Epaphroditus nearly died from sickness, “Paul was not gifted with knowing faith regarding the outcome of his sickness.” (Paul wasn’t gifted to know Jesus’ purpose regarding his co-worker’s calling.) Paul did ask people to be imitators of himself as he served in Jesus‘ nature. Let’s be imitators of Jesus and His apostles.

(Phil 3:17-21; “Be imitators of me, brothers and sisters, and watch carefully those who are living this way, just as you have us “we apostles” as an example. For many live, about whom I have often told you, and now, with tears, I tell you that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, they exult in their shame, and they think about earthly things.”) Bureaucratic organizations are in this category. Unbelievers’ mindset is on worldly things. Enemies Jesus was most concerned about were those using His name and deceiving the many. (see Matt 24:5) Judging from Jesus’ Words and scriptural evidence; ninety nine percent of those professing Christ are deceived and their religion vain. Of their own accord, they choose to be religious, choosing denominations that fits their inherited or chosen thinking, thus live according to what seems intellectually correct.

We can’t judge the outcome of people’s lives. We don’t know how or when God may choose to reveal Himself to any one individual. We who know God, can judge whether a person is presently in The Faith. That is if their citizenship is worldly and fleshly.

(Phil 3:20-21; “But our “we followers of Jesus” citizenship is in heaven – and we also await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform these humble bodies of ours into the likeness of His glorious body by means of that power by which He is able to subject all things to Himself.”)

Praise God! Believing IN this scriptural text, “is by revelation.” Practicing life according to this knowledge, “is to be atOne with Jesus.”

(Phil 4:1; “So then, my brothers and sisters, dear friends whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand in the Lord in this way, my dear friends!”)

There’s only one way to, “stand in the Lord.” One way to believe IN Him: “it’s to be spiritually led to turn from living the previously seemed right to our intellect way, “our fleshly mind way” to practice His Way. The Way of life our Creator commands, “is to stand in the Lord.”

Each apostle experienced, “dealing with growing pains of new converts” especially those desiring to do things their way.

(Phil 4:2-3; “I appeal to Euodia and to Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Yes, I say also to you true companions, help them. They have struggled together in the gospel ministry along with me and Clement and my other coworkers, whose names are in the book of life.”)

Called believer’s IN have their names written in the book of life. They’ll be in the first resurrection. Others of God’s choosing will be in a second fleshly resurrection. Jesus reveals it in His Revelations to John. (Study Revelations 2:11, 20:6, 20:13 & 21:8)
