Chapter two

Satan camouflages truth,

Right away we see Satan at work inspiring vanity and the get way in Adam’s family. Eve’s prideful attitude about having given birth and Cain holding back his best offering on a designated day. After marital relations Eve gave birth to Cain and said, “I have created a man just as the Lord did!” (Hebrew word “create” could also mean “obtain or acquire” (See Gen 14:19, 22; Deut 32:6; Ps 139:13; Prov 8:22.) Create fits, Eve had pro-created a man.) Then she gave birth to his brother Abel. Abel took care of the flocks, while Cain cultivated the ground. God designated a time for worshipfully giving a sacrifice to Him; when that time came, “Cain brought fruit of the ground for an offering, but Abel brought some of the firstborn of his flock – even the fattest of them. The Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering, but with Cain and his offering He was not pleased. So Cain became very angry, and his expression was downcast.”) (Gen 4:1-4)

(See the generation record from Adam through Noah at Genesis 5:) Lying, murderous Satan camouflaged God’s truth to Cain as he had Eve. Through Satan’s deceptive coercions the vast majority of people went the way of Cain. All but those whom the Lord God revealed Himself “went the way that seemed right to their demonically influenced minds.” After Abel, Cain’s son “Enoch” was one of the first to be blessed by God’s revealing Himself and His future kingdom to. His writings were still available during Jesus’ apostles time and Jude revisited Enoch’s word regarding Satan’s leading people down Cain’s path.

(Jude 1:8-13; Yet these ‘demonically deceived’ men, as a result of their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority and insult the glorious ones. But even when Michael the archangel was arguing with the devil and debating with him concerning Moses’ body, he did not dare bring a slanderous judgment, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!” (10) But these men do not understand the things they slander and they are being destroyed by the very things that, like irrational animals, they instinctively comprehend. Woe to them! For they have traveled down Cain’s path and because of greed have abandoned themselves to Balaam’s error; hence, they will certainly perish in Korah’s rebellion. (12) These are dangerous reefs at your love feasts, feasting without reverence, feeding only themselves. They are waterless clouds, carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit – twice dead, uprooted; wild sea waves, spewing out the foam of their shame; wayward stars for whom the utter depths of eternal darkness have been reserved.”) Traveling Cain’s path is to decide for one’s self “what’s right, wrong, good and evil.” People of his sort in each age become like irrational animals, leaning on instinct and greed. Their ultimate result is twice dead. (That’s what’s meant by “in dying you will surely die.) (See Revelations 21:8)

(Jude 1:14-16; Now Enoch, the seventh in descent beginning with Adam, even prophesied of them, saying, “Look! The Lord is coming with thousands and thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment on all, and to convict every person of all their thoroughly ungodly deeds that they have committed, and of all the harsh words that ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” (16) These people ‘like Cain and others’ are grumblers and fault-finders who go wherever their desires lead them and they give bombastic speeches, enchanting folks for their own gain.”)

More people could be noted, but “Abel, Enoch, Seth and Noah were among those finding favor in God’s eye. “These were given understanding, the Lord God Jesus revealed Himself and His purpose to them.” (Hebrew words “find favor [in the eyes of]” is an idiom meaning  “to be an object of another’s favorable disposition or action” “to be a recipient of another’s favor, kindness and  mercy.” A favor/kindness is often earned, coming in response to an action or condition. (See Gen 32:5; 39:4; Deut 24:1; 1 Sam 25:8; Prov 3:4; Ruth 2:10). This is the case in Gen 6:8, where v. 9 gives the basis for (Noah’s righteous character) for the divine favor.)

People before the Noah day flood had no excuse for their turning toward animalistic behavior, “nor did the people of Sodom and Gomorra, nor do the people in this age.”

Satan, liar, murderer, conqueror of nations and one who camouflages truth is the world’s worst enemy. He’s even the enemy of his followers.

(Gen 6:1-4; When humankind began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw the daughters of humankind were beautiful. (Sons of God? (Hebrew:“sons of God” occurs only here and in Job 1:6; 2:1; and 38:7. There’s three major interpretations, here and in the Book of Job “the phrase clearly refers to angelic beings.”) (2) Thus they took wives for themselves from any they chose. So the Lord said, “My spirit will not remain in humankind indefinitely, since they are mortal. They will remain for 120 more years.” (4) The Nephilim ‘seemingly hybrid people” were on the earth in those days (and also after this) when the sons of God were having sexual relations with the daughters of humankind, who gave birth to their children. They were the mighty heroes of old, the famous men.”) (It’s obvious that God’s “law of kind after kind” would prevent such pro-creation from reproducing, “these like a cross bread donkey and horse “mule” were hybrids.)

(Gen 6:5-6; But the Lord saw that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was only evil all the time. (6) The Lord regretted that He had made humankind on the earth, and He was highly offended. So the Lord said, “I will wipe humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth – everything from humankind to animals, including creatures that move on the ground and birds of the air, for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the sight of the Lord.”)

(Gen 6:9-10; This is the account of Noah. Noah was a godly man; he was blameless among his contemporaries. He walked with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

(Gen 6:11-21; The earth was ruined in the sight of God; the earth was filled with violence. God saw the earth, and indeed it was ruined, for all living creatures on the earth were sinful. So God said to Noah, “I have decided that all living creatures must die, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. Now I am about to destroy them and the earth. (14) Make for yourself an ark of cypress wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it with pitch inside and out. This is how you should make it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. Make a roof for the ark and finish it, leaving 18 inches from the top. Put a door in the side of the ark, and make lower, middle, and upper decks. (17) I am about to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy from under the sky all the living creatures that have the breath of life in them. Everything that is on the earth will die, but I will confirm My covenant with you. You will enter the ark – you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. You must bring into the ark two of every kind of living creature from all flesh, male and female, to keep them alive with you. (20) Of the birds after their kinds, and of the cattle after their kinds, and of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind will come to you so you can keep them alive. And you must take for yourself every kind of food that is eaten, and gather it together. It will be food for you and for them.)

(Gen 6:22 And Noah did all that God commanded him – he did indeed.

(Gen 7:1-5;  The Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, for I consider you godly among this generation. You must take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, the male and its mate, two of every kind of unclean animal, the male and its mate and also seven of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of the earth. (4) For in seven days I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights and I will wipe from the face of the ground every living thing that I have made.” And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.”) Satan has camouflaged God’s reason for revealing clean and unclean animals for His set aside people.

(Gen 8:4-5; On the seventeenth day of the seventh month, the ark came to rest on one of the mountains of Ararat. The waters kept on receding until the tenth month. On the first day of the tenth month, the tops of the mountains became visible.)

AFTERWARD: (Gen 8:18-19; Noah went out along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives. Every living creature, every creeping thing, every bird, and everything that moves on the earth went out of the ark in their groups.)

(Gen 8:20-21; Noah built an altar to the Lord. He then took some of every kind of clean animal and clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. (21) And the Lord smelled the soothing aroma and said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, even though the inclination of their minds is evil from childhood on. I will never again destroy everything that lives, as I have just done.”

8:22 “While the earth continues to exist, planting time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”)

The Son of God who made these pronouncements was even then planning His flesh and blood life experience, “His being the Lamb of God who’d sacrifice His own blood for the remission of the world’s sins.” Making The Way for God family membership, “immortality” with Him and God the Father. Looking forward to a second coming as king of kings and lord of lords who’d resurrect a chosen people by promise and bring peace with an Elect people. An Elect people who “if possible Satan would also deceive.”

Satan is about the business of being this world’s populations god, making progress as he did before the flood, but his demise is preplanned.

(Matt 24:22-24; And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the Elect those days will be cut short. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There He is!’ do not believe him. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the Elect.) “As always study the whole.”

(Matt 24:29- “Immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather His Elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”)

When we see the likes of animalistic behavior as before the flood and Sodom/Gomorra; know Jesus’ return is soon.
