Chapter 6

Satan want’s people believing in various methodologies whereby any can be saved. Jesus inspired His apostle Paul to share with those who’d follow Him the reason for His choosing persons. Without gifted faith we’re generally man pleasers, “it’s the nature inherited from Adam that must be changed.” Even when people knew God they preferred choosing for themselves what’s right, wrong, good and evil.

Let’s state it nonequivalent, “to resist our Creator, “the Lord God Jesus of Abraham” any degree on any subject is to serve the devil and one’s own self.

Until God calls and reveals Himself, regardless of heritage He charges “we’re all alike, under sin as it’s written.” (Quoting from Psalms 14:1-3, 140:3, 10:7, 36:1 and 5:9 Paul writes: (Rom 3:10-18; “There is no one righteous, not even one, there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.” “Their throats are open graves, they deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips.” “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood, ruin and misery are in their paths, and the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”)

Above is the inherited way of mankind and the reason the Lord God Jesus gave Moses the written law. Believers IN such as Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob didn’t need the written law “because Believing IN God made the law of love written to their minds.

(Rom 3:19-26; Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God. (20) For no one is declared righteous before Him by the works of the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. But now apart from the law the righteousness of God (which is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed – namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (24) But they ‘we’ are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. God ‘the Father’ publicly displayed Him at His death as the mercy seat accessible through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because God in His forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed. This was also to demonstrate His righteousness in the present time, so that He would be just and the Justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus’ faithfulness.

No person can boast, it’s Jesus’ gifted faith that saves.

(Rom 3:27-31; Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded! By what principle? Of works? No, but by the principle of faith! For we consider that a person is declared righteous by faith apart from the works of the law. Or is God the God of the Jews only? Is he not the God of the Gentiles too? Yes, of the Gentiles too! Since God is one, He will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not! Instead we uphold the law.)

David understood God’s choosing.

(Psalms 65:4-5; How blessed is the one whom You choose, and allow to live in Your palace courts. May we be satisfied with the good things of Your house – Your holy palace. You answer our prayers by performing awesome acts of deliverance, O God, our Savior. All the ends of the earth trust in You,

as well as those living across the wide seas.)

God’s choosing and promises are perpetual. He had Isaiah pen it.

Isiah 49:14-19; “Zion said, ‘The Lord has abandoned me, the Sovereign Master has forgotten me.’ Can a woman forget her baby who nurses at her breast? Can she withhold compassion from the child she has borne? Even if mothers were to forget, I ‘your God who chose you’ could never forget you! Look, I have inscribed your name on My palms; your walls are constantly before Me. Your children hurry back, while those who destroyed and devastated you depart. (18) Look all around you! All of them gather to you. As surely as I live,” says the Lord, “you will certainly wear all of them like jewelry; you will put them on as if you were a bride. Yes, your land lies in ruins; it is desolate and devastated. But now you will be too small to hold your residents, and those who devoured you will be far away.

(Isa 49:20-23; Yet the children born during your time of bereavement will say within your hearing, ‘This place is too cramped for us, make room for us so we can live here.’ Then you will think to yourself, ‘Who bore these children for me?’ I was bereaved and barren, dismissed and divorced. Who raised these children? Look, I was left all alone; where did these children come from?’” (22) This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Look I will raise My hand to the nations; I will raise My signal flag to the peoples. They ‘the nations’ will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders. Kings will be your children’s guardians; their princesses will nurse your children. With their faces to the ground they will bow down to you and they will lick the dirt on your feet. Then you will recognize that I am the Lord; those who wait patiently for Me are not put to shame.

(Isa 49:24-25; Can spoils be taken from a warrior, or captives be rescued from a conqueror? Indeed,” says the Lord, “captives will be taken from a warrior; spoils will be rescued from a conqueror. I will oppose your adversary and I will rescue your children. I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will get drunk on their own blood, as if it were wine.

Then all humankind will recognize that I am the Lord, your Deliverer,

your Protector, the powerful ruler of Jacob.”)

Satan camouflaged the real Jesus by using His name to glorify old gentile gods. and distortion of truth.

Satan inspired an unbelieving pagan people to make a calendar for his purpose. One honoring pagan gods the Lord God Jesus hates, by naming days of the week after them. “Monday, “day of the moon.” “Tuesday, Mars day.” “Wednesday, Mercury’s day.” “Thursday, Jupiter day of thunder.” “Friday, day of the goddest frigg” “Saturday, Saturn’s day.” “Sunday, day of the Sun.” (The modern English dictionary even proclaims Sunday as the Christian Sabbath, what an abomination in God’s view.)

It was the Lord God Jesus that led the Israelites from Egypt through His called out servant Moses and gave Moses the ten commandments for the rebellious people’s good. God’s seventh day Sabbath was set aside for rest, He rested and gave the command that His people rest. Now the Sabbath rest was given long before the written law.

(Gen 2:1-3; The heavens and the earth were completed with everything that was in them. By the seventh day God finished the work that He had been doing, and He ceased on the seventh day all the work that He had been doing. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because on it He ceased all the work that He had been doing in creation.”)

When the Lord God Jesus was leading Israel through Moses from Egypt He was giving them manna for their food.

(Exodus 16:22-26; And on the sixth day they gathered twice as much food, two omers per person; all the leaders of the community came inquiring of Moses. He said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a time of cessation from work, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Whatever you want to bake, bake today; whatever you want to boil, boil today; whatever is left put aside for yourselves to be kept until morning.’” So they put it aside until the morning, just as Moses had commanded, and it did not stink, nor were there any worms in it. Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the area. Six days you will gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”)

Satan inspired translators to go with tradition and twist scriptural text in order to sell Christendom on first day observance. The twist began when Paul was traveling and teaching long hours. On a particular Sabbath Paul intended to leave the next day for Syria, the people were eager to hear more from him so he taught on past sunset, into the first day even until dawn. Remember God set days from sunset to sunset.

Acts 20:1-12; After the days of Unleavened Bread Paul and the people met to break bread on the first day of the week. Because Paul and company intended to leave the next day, Paul extended his message until midnight. (8) (Now there were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting.) A young man named Eutychus, who was sitting in the window, was sinking into a deep sleep while Paul continued to speak for a long time. Fast asleep, he fell down from the third story and was picked up dead. (10) But Paul went down, threw himself on the young man, put his arms around him, and said, “Do not be distressed, for he is still alive!” Then Paul went back upstairs, and after he had broken bread and eaten, he talked with them a long time, until dawn. Then he left. They took the boy home alive and were greatly comforted.”) It’s a hostile mentality of an unbelieving people that think to change God’s Sabbath. There’s another text hostiles use.

Paul and companions were collecting Aid for Jewish Christians

(1Cor 16:1-9; With regard to the collection for the saints, please follow the directions that I gave to the churches of Galatia: On the first day of the week, each of you should set aside some income and save it to the extent that God has blessed you, so that a collection will not have to be made when I come. Then, when I arrive, I will send those whom you approve with letters of explanation to carry your gift to Jerusalem. And if it seems advisable that I should go also, they will go with me.” (5) But I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia – for I will be going through Macedonia – and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you can send me on my journey, wherever I go. For I do not want to see you now in passing, since I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows. But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, because a door of great opportunity stands wide open for me, but there are many opponents.”) Jesus’ apostles always made effort to keep the annual Sabbath “Pentecost.”
