The Christian Obligation, chapter 21

To: A people desiring to be atOne with God the Father and God the Son “Jesus” “Called to be Spiritual Israelites” 5/27/19, God’s 2nd month 22nd day of Lyyar 5,779 until sunset.

Book Chapter 14

Satan isn’t allowed to camouflage everything, but he attempts to twist and distort. He has some worldly denominations thinking “kingdom authority is theirs for the taking.” God’s kingdom on earth will consist of the likes of “Moses, Elijah, Elisha, Jesus’ prophets, apostles and called Believers IN who desire to be atOne with Jesus at the helm.

Jesus had told His apostles they’d see the kingdom of God, “six days later Jesus took three with Him. (Matt 17:1-13; “Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain. There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light. (3) Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with Him. So Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, I will make three shelters – “one for You, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (5) While he ‘Peter’ was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a Voice from the cloud said, “This is My one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to Him!” When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” He said. “Do not be afraid.” (8) When they looked up, all they saw was Jesus alone.

(9) As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Do not tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.” The disciples asked Him, “Why then do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?” He answered, “Elijah does indeed come first and will restore all things.” And I tell you that Elijah has already come. Yet they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted. In the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.”) Peter remembered and wrote about this occasion with Jesus, Moses and Elijah in his second letter. When Jesus returns He may appear as the transformation we see above.

(2Peter 1:16-21; For we ‘apostles’ did not follow cleverly concocted fables when we made known to you the power and return of our Lord Jesus Christ; no, we were eyewitnesses of His grandeur. For He ‘Jesus’ received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed to Him by the Majestic Glory: “This is My dear Son, in whom I am delighted.” When this voice was conveyed from heaven, we ourselves heard it, for we were with Him on the holy mountain. (19) Moreover, we ‘apostles’ possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attention to this as you would to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you do well if you recognize this: No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination, for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”)

It was revealed that “one in the spirit of Elijah would come before the Messiah.” John the Baptist fulfilled that prophecy and Jesus said of him, “what did you expect to see?”

(Matt 11:7-10; While they were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? What did you go out to see? A man dressed in fancy clothes? Look, those who wear fancy clothes are in the homes of kings! (9) What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Look, I am sending My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’ (Quote primarily from Mal 3:1 with pronouns from Exodus 23:20. Here is the forerunner who points the way to the arrival of God’s salvation. His job is to prepare and guide the people, as the cloud did for Israel in the desert.) Remember how John was predestined, like Isaac, his parents were aged and an angel told of his birth.

(Matt 11:11-17; “I ‘Jesus’ tell you the truth, among those born of women, no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is. (12) From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence and forceful people lay hold of it. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John appeared. (14) And if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah, who is to come. The one who has ears had better listen! “To what should I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, yet you did not dance; we wailed in mourning, yet you did not weep.’”) Today’s generation is even more vulnerable to Satan’s ploys.

Satan attempts to camouflages the fact that God is the all knowing pre-planner of events pertaining to His kingdom. Remember Satan was allowed to tempt Jesus in ways similar to how we’re tempted, “but without yielding to his temptations.” Last Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and Jesus didn’t tell him ‘they aren’t your to give” but said, “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘You are to worship the Lord your God and serve only Him.’” Then the devil left Him, and angels came and began ministering to His needs.

No surprise to Jesus when He learned John had been imprisoned, right away, when learning “he ‘Jesus’ went into Galilee.” (13) While in Galilee, He moved from Nazareth to make His home in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali, (14) so that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled: “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way by the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles – the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, and on those who sit in the region and shadow of death a light has dawned.” (17) From that time Jesus began to preach this message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”)

The kingdom of God was near in the person of Creator, Sustainer, Deliverer, Mediator and coming king of kings, “Jesus.”

Satan camouflages Jesus to the world “attempting to hide the fact that it was Jesus who inspired Isaiah.

Darkness Turns to Light when King Jesus Arrives.

Isaiah 8:19-23; (They will say to you, “Seek oracles at the pits used to conjure up underworld spirits, from the magicians who chirp and mutter incantations. Should people not seek oracles from their gods, by asking the dead about the destiny of the living?” Then you must recall the Lord’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen. Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened. (21) They will pass through the land destitute and starving. Their hunger will make them angry, and they will curse their king and their God as they look upward. When one looks out over the land, he sees distress and darkness, gloom and anxiety, darkness and people forced from the land.”)

It’s the hostile nature inspired by Satan,  raising it’s ugly head causing people to curse God over their own failures. We see the example before the flood, at Sodom - Gomorrah and the same prophesied attitudes at the end of this age when unbelieving people suffer plagues because of disobedience.

(Rev 16:9-11; Thus people were scorched by the terrible heat, yet they blasphemed the name of God, who has ruling authority over these plagues, and they would not repent and give Him glory. Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast so that darkness covered his kingdom, and people began to bite their tongues because of their pain. They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their sufferings and because of their sores, but nevertheless they still refused to repent of their deeds.”)

Isaiah (9:1-2; 8:23; The gloom will be dispelled for those who were anxious. In earlier times He humiliated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but now He brings honor ‘with Jesus’ presence - Matt 11:’ to the way of the sea, the region beyond the Jordan, and Galilee of the nations. (9:2 - 9:1) The people walking in darkness see a bright light; light shines on those who live in a land of deep darkness.”) Now Isaiah’s prophecy moves to when Jesus restores Israel.

(Isaiah 9:3-5; You have enlarged the nation; You give them great joy. They rejoice in Your presence as harvesters rejoice; as warriors celebrate when they divide up the plunder. For their oppressive yoke and the club that strikes their shoulders, the cudgel the oppressor uses on them, You have shattered, as in the day of Midian’s defeat. (5) Indeed every boot that marches and shakes the earth and every garment dragged through blood is used as fuel for the fire.”) (Prosperity within Israel’s boarder because of Jesus’ return.)

(Isaiah 9:6-7; For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

Prince of Peace. His dominion will be vast and He will bring immeasurable prosperity.

He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom, establishing it and strengthening it by promoting justice and fairness, from this time forward and forevermore. The Lord’s intense devotion to His people will accomplish this.”)

Before Jesus’ return as king of kings, the people have lessons to learn.

God’s Judgment Intensifies and His people fight one another.

(Isaiah 9:8-19; “The sovereign master decreed judgment on Jacob, and it fell on Israel. All the people were aware of it, the people of Ephraim and those living in Samaria. Yet with pride and an arrogant attitude, they said, (10) “The bricks have fallen, but we will rebuild with chiseled stone; the sycamore fig trees have been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.”

Even Joseph’s grandsons “Ephraim and Manasseh fight one another and Judah.”) But God’s promises to Jacob are perpetual, “finally they’ll look to Him and He’ll deal with their enemies.”

(Isaiah 10:20-23; At that time those left in Israel, those who remain of the family of Jacob, will no longer rely on a foreign leader that abuses them. Instead they will truly rely on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. A remnant will come back, a remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. (22) For though your people, Israel, are as numerous as the sand on the seashore, only a remnant will come back. Destruction has been decreed; just punishment is about to engulf you. The sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, is certainly ready to carry out the decreed destruction throughout the land.”) After just punishment.

Israel Reclaimed, Reunited and those Satan inspired to be their enemies dealt with.

(Isaiah 11:10-16; “At that time a root from Jesse will stand like a signal flag for the nations. Nations will look to Him for guidance, and His residence will be majestic. At that time the sovereign master will again lift His hand to reclaim the remnant of His people from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the seacoasts. He will lift a signal flag for the nations; He will gather Israel’s dispersed people and assemble Judah’s scattered people from the four corners of the earth. (13) Ephraim’s jealousy will end, and Judah’s hostility will be eliminated. Ephraim will no longer be jealous of Judah, and Judah will no longer be hostile toward Ephraim. They will swoop down on the Philistine hills to the west; together they will loot the people of the east. They will take over Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be their subjects. (15) The Lord will divide the gulf of the Egyptian Sea; He will wave His hand over the Euphrates River and send a strong wind, He will turn it into seven dried-up streams, and enable them to walk across in their sandals. (16) There will be a highway leading out of Assyria for the remnant of His people, just as there was for Israel, when they went up from the land of Egypt.”)

Satan the conqueror of nations as Jesus describes him in “His Revelations to John” has been using, confusing and inspiring the likes of old Babylon, modern Egypt, Assyria - likely modern Germany and the people groups named above, to persecute God’s people since God showed favor to Jacob’s family “Israel.” Jealous Satan inspires jealously and infighting among people hostile toward Jesus and more so toward those God calls to Believe IN Him and keep His commandments.
