Universe, Earth and we’re for God’s purpose, chapter 5

10/3/19, God’s 7th month, Tishrei 3, 5,780 until sunset.

To: People desiring to be atOne with God the Father, God the Son and Heir with Abraham.

How can God use, be merciful to, forgive and convert people like you and I? How is it that God chose Jacob over his brother Esau when still in the womb? How’d He plan Jacob’s heirs ’Israel’ to be His chosen and make perpetual promises before they’d accomplished anything? By promises to Abraham! More than that His promises are perpetual and He’s the Son in whom the Father has allocated all things: He’s Re-creator, Creator, Deliverer, Redeemer, Savior, the resurrection, King of Kings with family plans. (Col 1:15-20, John 1:1-5 & Heb 1:) There’s more.

(Deut 4:34-35;  Or has God ever before tried to deliver a nation from the middle of another nation, accompanied by judgments, signs, wonders, war, strength, power, and other very terrifying things like the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes? You have been taught that the LORD alone is God — there is no other besides him.) Jacob and his heirs had been chosen. While Israel was being delivered, “no other nation on earth was being dwelt with.

When Isaac’s wife Rebekah was pregnant the twins struggled inside her and she thought to herself, “If it is going to be like this, I’m not so sure I want to be pregnant!” So she asked the Lord, and the Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples will be separated from within you. One people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.” (See Genesis 25:) When Isaac was sixty years old Esau and Jacob were born. Esau became a skilled hunter and Jacob worked the field. Jacob was an even tempered man, lived in tents, but Isaac loved Esau in part because he had a taste for his fresh game.

The name Jacob may have been chosen because of the immediate association with the incident of his holding Esau’s foot at birth. After receiving word from God, Jacob and Esau’s parents would have preserved in memory almost every detail of their unusual births. Jacob, the weaker of the two brother and a deceiver took advantage of Esau. However the Lord chose Jacob, changed his name to Israel; “meaning God fights” or perhaps “God fights for.”

Esau married Judith the daughter of the Hittite “Beeri” and they caused Isaac and Rebekah great anxiety. When Isaac intended to bless Esau, Rebekah overheard and plotted with Jacob to deceive Isaac and Esau. Isaac gave the blessing to Jacob intended for Esau. After the trickery Esau said to Isaac, “don’t you have a blessing for me?” (Genesis 27:39-40; “So his father Isaac said to him, “Indeed, your home will be away from the richness of the earth, and away from the dew of the sky above. You will live by your sword but you will serve your brother. When you grow restless, you will tear off his yoke from your neck.” So Esau hated Jacob.”)

Rebekah said to Isaac “I am deeply depressed because of these daughters of Heth. If Jacob were to marry one of these I would want to die!” Isaac said to Jacob “You must not marry a Canaanite woman and sent him to relatives. See Genesis 28:

Jacob’s dream and name change

Jacob left Beer Sheba and set out for Haran. He reached a certain place where he decided to camp because the sun had gone down. He took one of the stones and placed it near his head. Then he fell asleep in that place and had a dream. He saw a stairway erected on the earth with its top reaching to the heavens. The angels of God were going up and coming down it and the Lord stood at its top. He said, “I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of your father Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the ground you are lying on. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west, east, north, and south. All the families of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using your name and that of your descendants. I am with you! I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you!” (Remember God’s promises are perpetual, Israel will yet again be delivered back to the promised lands.)

Jacob woke up and thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, but I did not realize it!” Being afraid he thought, “What an awesome place this is! This is nothing else than the house of God! This is the gate of heaven!” (Study the whole.)

Deceiver Jacob is deceived

Jacob loved Rachel and was promised her in marriage after seven years service to Laban. But Laban gave him Leah, saying it was the family custom that the older be married first. Jacob worked another seven years for Rachel. Leah and Rachel were jealous over timely pregnancies caused each to give Jacob their servant maids to wife. Between them, they gave Jacob twelve sons, which became the twelve tribes of Israel. ALL in God’s plan! Choosing is His prerogative. So much so that when New Jerusalem comes down it’s twelve gates are named for these twelve tribes of Israel.

After being blessed with much, Jacob left Laban with his family and headed back to his home land. In route an angel or perhaps Jesus Himself wrestled with Jacob. (Gen 32:26-30; “Then the man said, “Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.” “I will not let you go,” Jacob replied, “unless you bless me.” The man asked him, “What is your name?” He answered, “Jacob.” “No longer will your name be Jacob” the man told him, “but Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked, “Please tell me your name.” “Why do you ask my name?” the man replied. Then he blessed Jacob there. So Jacob named the place Peniel, explaining, “Certainly I have seen God face to face and have survived.”)

The name Israel is a common construction using verb with a theophoric element. (אֵל, ’el) that usually indicates the subject of the verb. Here it means “God fights.” This name replaces the name Jacob; it’s both a promise and a call for faith. In essence, the Lord was saying that Jacob would have victory and receive the promises because God would fight for him. Christian “followers of Jesus” are spiritual Israelites and heirs with Abraham. Jesus’ apostle Paul taught it.

Galatians 3:23-24; “Now before “Jesus’” faith came we were held in custody under the law, being kept as prisoners until the coming faith would be revealed. Thus the law had become our guardian until Christ, so that we could be declared righteous by faith. (3:25-29; But now that “Jesus’” faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female – for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.”) Meditate on those promises to Jacob whose name God changed to ‘Israel.’

(I will give you and your descendants the ground you are lying on. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west, east, north, and south. All the families of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using your name and that of your descendants. I am with you! I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you!”)

It’s through God’s mercy and by promise that people are chosen. We’re descendents of Adam and are born with a lawlessness toward God nature. Adam was told that if he disobeyed he would die. Even then God had a redemption blood sacrifice plan. A plan whereby His called chosen could become heirs with Abraham.

(We have the revelation of Abel’s blood still speaking.) Cain and Abel were told to make a timely blood sacrifices to God. Abel obeyed while Cain decided for himself ‘that God should be pleased with a sacrifice of his choosing.’ Thus the Lord God Jesus complemented Abel. See Matthew 23:35. Jesus revealed these things to His apostles and Paul in particularly reveals them to followers of Jesus.

(Ephesians 2:1-10; “And although you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you formerly lived according to this world’s present path, according to the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the ruler of the spirit that is now energizing the sons of disobedience, among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest.” “of humanity - my words.”) (Note Satan is called ’ruler of the kingdom of the air’ ’ruler of spirits energizing disobedience.’)

Eph 2:4-10; “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! – and He raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, to demonstrate in the coming ages the surpassing wealth of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you are saved through “Jesus’” faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.”) (Now, just as the devil deceived Eve then Adam into believing immortality was within their reach; he wants all people thinking there’s a method by which people can be saved. A self serving practicing methodology. Thinking to thwart God’s declaration of death for disobedience.

Satan’s First Lie

Genesis 3:1-7; “Now the serpent was more shrewd than any of the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Is it really true that God said, ‘You must not eat from any tree of the orchard’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit from the trees of the orchard; but concerning the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the orchard God said, ‘You must not eat from it, and you must not touch it, or else you will die.’”

The serpent said to the woman, “Surely you will not die, for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will open and you will be like divine beings who know good and evil.” (6) When the woman saw that the tree produced fruit that was good for food, was attractive to the eye, and was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some of it to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”)

Only their humanity awakened to their nakedness. Satan knew spiritual understanding would only come form God miraculously opening minds. He knew he could attract with appeal and desire to their fleshly minds. Today every worldly religion teaches some form of “immortality at birth or a method by which to obtain it.

But Jesus taught people Must Be Born Again

(John 3:1-6; “Now a certain man, a Pharisee named Nicodemus, who was a member of the Jewish ruling council, came to Jesus at night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus replied, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (4) Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb and be born a second time, can he?” Jesus answered, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

(John 3:7-8; “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’ The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

John 3:9-12; Nicodemus replied, “How can these things be?” Jesus answered, “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you don’t understand these things? I tell you the solemn truth, we speak about what we know and testify about what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony. If I have told you people about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?”

John 3:13-14; “No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven — the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.”)

Referring to the bronze serpent (Numbers 21:5-9) All these things like circumcision have spiritual counterparts. In route to the promised lands the people grew negative.

(Num 21:5-9; “And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food.” So the LORD sent poisonous snakes among the people, and they bit the people; many people of Israel died. Then the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you. Pray to the LORD that He would take away the snakes from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. The LORD said to Moses, “Make a poisonous snake and set it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole, so that if a snake had bitten someone, when he looked at the bronze snake he lived.”) When we’re spiritually led to believe IN obedience to Jesus we’ll have eternal live.

(John 3:8; “The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
