Perpetual Promises, chapter 8

11/4/19, God’s 8th month, Cheshvan 6/5780.   20,909

To: Called out people living through Jesus’ faith, promises and expectations; “in the world but not of the world.”

So, how does predestination square with God’s desire that no one perish? Consider, Net Bible) (2Peter 3:9; “The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because He does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”) (Consider King James) (2Peter 3:9; “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”)

Supernatural healings, resurrections and feeding thousands from one basket of food is re-creating. Fleshly and Spiritual resurrections are re-creations. Gifted believers IN know to allow scripture translates scripture. First consider that Jesus is Re-Creator, Creator and Sustainer. (Review Col 1:15-20) Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well “I am the Bread.”  To Martha He said “I am the resurrection.”

Speaking of the Messiah to Jesus; (John 11:24-26; Martha said, “I know that He will come back to life again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies, and the one who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”) (If Believers are alive when Jesus returns, they’ll never die. After gifted with eternal life, they’ll never perish.)

Jesus also said; (John 10:28; I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from My hand.”)

Predestination and the demonic “heaven - Hell” doctrine don’t square, but God’s truth does. As we studied at 1Corithians 15: “all will be resurrected, each in their own order.” The Psalmest understood. (Psalms 112:10; “The wicked grind their teeth in frustration and melt away; the desire of the wicked will perish.”) They and their desires will ultimately perish in a second death. (Jesus revealed and John wrote.)

(Rev 21:7; The one who conquers will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.) (King James) (Rev 21:7; “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.”)

Rev 21:8  But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, idol worshipers, and all those who lie, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. That is the second death.”) (A person couldn’t die a second death without having lived a second time.) See the examples from last study.

So, why did Jesus give the parable about the rich man and Lazarus?

(Matt 13:34-36; “All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake He not unto them:.) Jesus also quoted parts of Isaiah 6:9-15; where He explained why He spoke in parables, (the bottom line being; “because of people’s hardness of heart and less they NOT understand.”)The Lazarus parable’s conclusion is; “if they didn’t respond to Moses and the prophets, they’ll not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.” Remember Jesus’ “parable - story” is about Abraham’s speaking to the deceased rich man.

(Luke 16:29-31; But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to them.’ Then the rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ He replied to him, ‘If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ “)

God spoke through Hosea about His chosen Israelites, comparing them to early figs He loved. He viewed Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as the season’s first figs.

.  (Hosea 9:10; “When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the wilderness. I viewed your ancestors like an early fig on a fig tree in its first season. Then they came to Baal-Peor and they dedicated themselves to shame — they became as detestable as what they loved.”) (We love what we dedicate ourselves to and we particularly love God when we realize how much He loves us.

(1John_4:19  We love because He loved us first.) The all knowing God predestines, He called, He knew and loved us before the foundation of the world.

Called out Believers IN are God’s Church family in this age, His kingdom and His children are “heirs with Abraham.” We’re Jesus’ ambassadors today. In His millennial reign we’ll be assisting according to His will. Assignments of Jesus’ twelve apostles have been given.

(Luke 22:28-30; “You “apostles” are the ones who have remained with Me in My trials. Thus I grant to you a kingdom, just as My Father granted to Me, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”)

(Matthew 19:27-30; Then Peter said to Him, “Look, we have left everything to follow You! What then will there be for us?” Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth: In the age when all things are renewed, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (29) And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for My sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”)

Many who’re called in this latter age will be first! Denominations thinking methodology, in terms of receiving salvation aren’t Believers IN the God of Abraham. The same Jesus that made promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, made promises to His apostles and we Believers. He also revealed prophecies to Isaiah.

Isaiah 14:24; The Lord who commands armies makes this solemn vow: “Be sure of this: Just as I have intended, so it will be; just as I have planned, it will happen.” (Predestination.)

Isaiah 46:8-13; “Remember this, so you can be brave! Think about it, you rebels! Remember what I accomplished in antiquity! Truly I am God, I have no peer; I am God, and there is none like Me, who announces the end from the beginning and reveals beforehand what has not yet occurred, who says, ‘My plan will be realized, I will accomplish what I desire,’ who summons an eagle from the east, from a distant land, one who carries out My plan. Yes, I have decreed, yes, I will bring it to pass; I have formulated a plan, yes, I will carry it out. (12) Listen to Me, you stubborn people, you who distance yourself from doing what is right. I am bringing My deliverance near, it is not far away; I am bringing My salvation near, it does not wait. I will save Zion; I will adorn Israel with My splendor.”) Remember God pre-planned Israel’s deliverance to the day.

Exodus 12:40-42; “Now the length of time the Israelites lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of the 430 years, on the very day, all the regiments of the Lord went out of the land of Egypt. It was a night of vigil for the Lord to bring them out from the land of Egypt, and so on this night all Israel is to keep the vigil to the Lord for generations to come.”)

Israel’s deliverance through Moses was a foreshadowing of our being delivered from sin through Jesus. God the Father and God the Son planned His children and the world destiny. He that inspired Moses and Isaiah’s writing inspired His apostle John’s.

(1John 2:1-4; My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous One, and He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world. (3) Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep His commandments. The one who says “I have come to know God” and yet does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in such a person.”)

God’s ten commandments are given for the good to His people. His people love Him and obey because we love Him and one another. During Jesus’ millennial kingdom all people will learn to respect His commandments. The righteous will love one another and God’s Way, keep His commandments from pureness of mind “a gifted love outlook.“ The result is conformity to Paul’s inspired teaching.

(Phil 2:6-7; “You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, who though He existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature.”)

The expression the likeness of men is similar to Paul’s wording at Rom 8:3; (“In the likeness of sinful flesh.”) The same word “likeness” is used in both passages, implies that there’s a form that does not necessarily correspond to reality. (In Rom 8:3, the meaning is that Christ looked like sinful humanity.) Here in Philippians the meaning is similar: “Jesus looked like other men” but was in fact different from unbelievers in that “He didn’t have a sin nature.” The point being “Christ looked just like other men, but He was not like other men.” (He was not sinful, but fully human with God’s spirit imputed to His mind.) Jesus was obedient from a loving respect of His and our Father.

(Phil 2:8-11; “He humbled Himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross! As a result God exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow – in heaven and on earth and under the earth – (11) and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.”

Not only is Jesus The Son of God, He’s our Lord, Savior, High Priest, Redeemer, Mediator and Pioneer, “One showing us the way.”

Heb 4:14-16; “Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.”
