God’s Truth Explored, chapter 15

To: “10,562 in resident churches” people desiring to be “At One with God.” 4/24/18, God’s 2nd month, Iyar 9, 5778 until sunset.

Pope Frances and protestant leaders should attempt to explain why they practice the things King Josiah was led to destroy back in his reign. Quite some time before God made eight year old Josiah king over Judah, ten tribes had been dispersed for covenant breaking. Dispersed to serve pagan rulers. The tribe of Judea had been separated from Israel and stayed closer to their covenant agreement. Dispersed after God made Josiah and then his son king. Josiah was led to think righteously and when he learned of his forefathers rebellion against God, he forcefully turned Judah back from their pagan ways. (See 1Kings 13: - 2Kings 23:) (Here’s an event forerunner to what Jesus will do when He reigns.) After Josiah’s death the people turned again to the ways of the pagan people around them. (Josiah had power to enforce his rule, but like with all religion, was unable to change the inner nature of people.)

That inner nature inherited from Adam and coached by Satan is still mankind’s major problem since Adam, and will continue until its miraculously changed. (It’s not within our ability to change our inherited nature and overcome the desires of the flesh, “independent of our Creator.”) All societies evolve toward a system, “where the strong make merchandise of the weaker and justice one sided.” Without strong society law, people evolve toward animalistic behavior instinctively. A nature prone to hold to evolving tradition. WHY? Our inherited from Adam nature is hostile toward our Creator. Jesus revealed and His apostle Paul explains.

(Romans 8:6-7; “For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace, because the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor is it able to do so.”)

Religious minded and all others find reason NOT to be obedient to the practices Jesus ordained. It’s in our inherited nature to make gods from our imagination and condone societal evolving ways that are an abomination to our Creator. But religions find comfort zones in their disobedience. Errors the Israelites made and God’s punishments are recorded for our learning. Thus the called in this age have responsibility to share His truth.

(Romans 15:1-6;““But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not just please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up. For even Christ did not please Himself, but just as it is written, “The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.” For everything that was written in former times was written for our, “we followers of Jesus” instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope. Now may the God of endurance and comfort give you unity with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.””)

NO human society is able to learn from Israel’s failures and make lasting changes in the hearts and minds of it’s people. The answer; “a supernatural  nature change is necessary for the preservation of mankind.” We must be called by God and miraculously given a new nature! Jesus referred to this change as, “being born again” and Jesus’ apostles made reference to this gift as; “being born from above.” (We can’t see ourselves from God’s point of view; “except He reveal Himself and grant His gift of repentance.”) We must be given Godly grace to see our self serving nature for what it is and turn with the humbleness of a child to our Creator and His Ways. ONLY then can one grow in the grace and knowledge of God, overcome and develop Godly character. Jesus revealed this through His apostle Paul.

(Romans 8:5-11; “For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit. For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace, because the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor is it able to do so. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, ‘followers of Jesus’ however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to Him. But if Christ is in you, your ’fleshly’ body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is your life because of righteousness. (11) Moreover if the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the One who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through His Spirit who lives in you.”)

It’s the mystery to this unbelieving age. God does the calling, choosing, and converts people with His gift of turning, “repentance.”

After King Josiah’s death, the Lord gave Jeremiah a message concerning all the people of Judah. (It was the first year that Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon.) The message is for all people who have an inclination to consider the awesomeness of our Creator and His Ways.

(Jeremiah 25:2-10; “For the last twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amon was ruling in Judah until now, the Lord has been speaking to me. I told you over and over again what He said, But you would not listen, “Therefore, the Lord who rules over all says, ‘You have not listened to what I said. So I, the Lord, affirm that I will send for all the peoples of the north and My servant, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and all the nations that surround it. I will utterly destroy this land, its inhabitants and all the nations that surround it and make them everlasting ruins. I will make them objects of horror and hissing scorn. (10) I will put an end to the sounds of joy and gladness, to the glad celebration of brides and grooms in these lands. I will put an end to the sound of people grinding meal. I will put an end to lamps shining in their houses. This whole area will become a desolate wasteland. These nations will be subject to the king of Babylon for seventy years.”)

God had given the Israelites unparallel blessing, but they chose to follow the pagan gods of people around them. God chose the Israelites by promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. While the non-Israelite world was going the way of their imagination, looking to and worshiping gods of their imagination rather than the Creator God. The descendents of Abraham are a chosen by promise people. To bless and demonstrate God’s power. Because of their disobedience, God used Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian people for His purpose.

Unbelieving people with Babylonian inherited instincts are still pagan worshipers, looking to the sun, stars, the Zodiac, the detestable Sidonian goddess Astarte, (where Easter practices come from.) the detestable Moabite god Chemosh and the horrible Ammonite god Milcom. The God of Israel used these demonic people to punish His chosen, who yielded to their fleshly nature and preferred serving gods of their imagination. (Astarte, for example: “was connected with fertility, sexuality, and war.” Her symbols were the lion, the horse, the sphinx, the dove and a star with a circle indicating the planet Venus. Pictorial representations often show her naked. She has been thought of as the deified evening star. Modern day Easter celebrations comes from this paganism.

God commanded the Israelites and now His chosen Christians, not to learn these pagan ways. Inherited nature in people is still the same and God is still using governments to serve His purposes. Thus, God still puts rulers over people they deserve and will until His kingdom is established. God still commands His people to refrain from all forms of idol worship. Jesus’ apostle Paul taught the Roman Christians to look at Israel’s examples. He wrote: (“Look at the people of Israel. Are not those who eat the sacrifices partners in the altar? Am I saying that idols or food sacrificed to them amount to anything? No. I mean that what the pagans sacrifice is to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot take part in the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we really stronger than He is?” Romans 10:19-22)

There’s much to consider here, “if we profess to be a Believers IN.” Pagan practices of people who should know better provokes our Creator to Godly jealousy. Additionally: “there’s the matter of spiritual prostitution!” Spiritual adultery! Genuine followers of Jesus are wedded to Him and must be loyal to His Way; “else accounted as prostitutes!” Unbelievers have their outlook shaped by the demonic! When we’re spiritually mature we know idols are nothing. We know we cannot be harmed by imaginary gods. The problem is; “OUR EXAMPLE to others.” The problem is; “the practice of sinful living.” When professing Christians involve themselves in unholy practices, “the spiritually weak are effected.” Paul shares his and Jesus’ example for us. The exercise of faith can be trying, but God does strengthen those He chooses and discipline those He loves. (Christians need to liken themselves as military ambassadors.)
