The Gospel, chapter 8

To: “In Resident Churches of God, all Saints” grace and peace from our God. 10/12/18, God‘s 8th month, Chestven 3, 5779 until sunset.

God’s loving purpose in creating mankind in His image - likeness, was and is to create many children, “Gods in His spiritual likeness.”

After giving a parable about the Kingdom of God and telling His apostles “the last will be first and the first last” Jesus took the twelve aside privately, explained that He would be crucified and be raised the third day. Understanding His coming kingdom, a mother ask that her two sons sit one on His right and left. (Matt 20:22-23; Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink?” They said to Him, “We are able.” He told them, “You will drink My cup, but to sit at My right and at My left is not mine to give. Rather, it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.”)

Satan knows God’s purpose in creating mankind in His likeness and knows the scriptures better than most. When tempting Jesus, among the scriptures quoted was, (Psalms 91:11-12; For He will order His angels to protect you in all you do. They will lift you up in their hands, so you will not slip and fall on a stone.”

(Luke 4:9-13; Then the devil brought Him to Jerusalem, had Him stand on the highest point of the temple, and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here, for it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning You, to protect You,’ and ‘with their hands they will lift You up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” (12) Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’” So when the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from Him until a more opportune time.”) Satan knows these promises are also to Believers.

God revealed His coming kingdom to Nebuchadnezzar through Daniel around 600 BC, before Assyrian was overthrown by the Medes/Persians. The king had a dream no one could interpret, he was so angry that he ordered all the wise men of Babylon be destroyed. After Daniel ask the executioner why the decree was so urgent, He ask that he might disclose the interpretation. After informing his friends Hanannah and Mishael, they prayed for mercy from the God of Heaven so they wouldn’t be destroyed.

(Dan 2:19-22; Then in a night vision the mystery was revealed to Daniel. So Daniel praised the God of heaven, saying, “Let the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him. He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. He gives wisdom to the wise; He imparts knowledge to those with understanding; He reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what is in the darkness, and light resides with Him.” After giving thanks, Daniel ask for a meeting with the king.

(Dan 2:27-28; Daniel replied to the king, “The mystery that the king is asking about is such that no wise men, astrologers, magicians, or diviners can possibly disclose it to the king. However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the times to come. The dream and the visions you had while lying on your bed are as follows.”

(Dan 2:29-30; “As for you, O king, while you were in your bed your thoughts turned to future things. The Revealer of mysteries has made known to you what will take place. As for me, this mystery was revealed to me not because I possess more wisdom than any other living person, but so that the king may understand the interpretation and comprehend the thoughts of your mind.”

(Dan 2:37-43; “You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has granted you sovereignty, power, strength, and honor. Wherever human beings, wild animals, and birds of the sky live – he has given them into your power. He has given you authority over them all. You are the head of gold. (39) Now after you another kingdom will arise, one inferior to yours. Then a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule in all the earth. (40) Then there will be a fourth kingdom, one strong like iron. Just like iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything, and as iron breaks in pieces all of these metals, so it will break in pieces and crush the others. (41) In that you were seeing feet and toes partly of wet clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom. Some of the strength of iron will be in it, for you saw iron mixed with wet clay. In that the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, the latter stages of this kingdom will be partly strong and partly fragile. And in that you saw iron mixed with wet clay, so people will be mixed with one another without adhering to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” Remember Jesus spoke of love waxing cold?

(Dan 2:44 In the days of those kings the God of heaven will raise up an everlasting kingdom that will not be destroyed and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever. (45) You saw that a stone was cut from a mountain, but not by human hands; it smashed the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold into pieces. The great God has made known to the king what will occur in the future. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is reliable.”

Righteousness that include peace, judgment, prosperity and Saints ruling with Jesus is on the horizon. New Jerusalem’s coming down was planned long before Daniel’s prophecy. God’s kingdom revolves around His promises to Abraham. Twelve gates are named for the twelve tribes of Israel and Jesus’ twelve apostles represent the foundation to God’s Way. God’s kingdom is built on love as expressed through His apostles. His revelations and callings look forward to His people literally becoming at one with the Lamb and Himself. “Jesus revealed it to John and we Believers IN.

(Rev 21:9-14; “Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven final plagues came and spoke to me, “John” saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb!” (God’s church) So He took me away in the Spirit to a huge, majestic mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. (11) The city possesses the glory of God; its brilliance is like a precious jewel, like a stone of crystal-clear jasper. It has a massive, high wall with twelve gates, with twelve angels at the gates, and the names of the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel are written on the gates. There are three gates on the east side, three gates on the north side, three gates on the south side and three gates on the west side. The wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.)

Followers of Jesus are built on this foundation today. We’re the bride of Christ; “at one with the Son of God and God the Father.”

God’s love extends to called non-Israelites. Jesus’ apostle Paul explains.

(Ephesians 2:11-22; “Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “un-circumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body by human hands – that you were at that time without the Messiah, alienated from the citizenship of Israel “those God fights for” and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, the One who made both groups into one and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility, when He nullified in His flesh the law of commandments in decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of two, thus making peace, and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed. And He came and preached peace to you, “gentiles” who were far off and peace to those who were near, so that through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you “called gentiles” are no longer foreigners and non-citizens, but you are fellow citizens with the Saints and members of God’s household, because you “as are Christian Israelites” have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the Cornerstone. In Him the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you “gentiles” also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.”)

All these things are foreshadowed in the keeping of God’s Sabbaths - revealed to Believers IN - Christians.

God’s set aside weekly Sabbath, “the seventh day” foreshadows our being at rest from our own fleshly works. At rest from living the get way that leads to death, the way our inherited from Adam nature pulls us toward, prior to God’s calling, revealing and our turning “repenting.”

The family of God “Christians” are heirs with Abraham, spiritually born from above, inheriting eternal life. (Humanly speaking, “people are heirs by birth or adoption.” When an individual is spirit led to genuinely seek the God of Abraham, it’s a calling.) When spirit led, “it’s God’s choosing, not our works.” Chosen to overcome self serving fleshly desires and Satan’s deceptions.

Remember Jesus’ Words, “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the Elect.” Matt 24:24. Jesus offered a parable on this subject and when His disciples did not understand, He explained.

(“Now the parable means this: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the Word from their hearts, so that they may NOT believe and be SAVED. Those “seed” on the rock are the ones who receive the Word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. “no knowing faith in God’s promises” They believe for a while, but in a time of testing “trials” fall away. As for the seed that fell among thorns, these are the ones who hear, “understand” but as they go on their way they are CHOKED by the worries and riches and PLEASURES of life, and their fruit does not mature. But as for the seed that landed on GOOD SOIL, these are the ones who, after hearing the word, CLING TO IT with an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with steadfast endurance.” Luke 8:11-15)

THAT THEY MAY NOT BELIEVE AND BE SAVED? Believing IN is key! Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph were led to believe IN. They encountered others that believed a God was real but they also practiced divination and the like. Remember the ruler who thought to take Sarah? When God revealed Sarah belonged to Abraham he acted in belief, but there is no indication that he believed IN, as in yielding his life as did Abraham.

“Believers IN are servants to Jesus’ Way.” NOT to worldly tradition! NOT to the way of a church! The apostle Paul wrote. (“What then? If some did not believe, does their unbelief nullify the faithfulness of God? Absolutely not! Let God be proven true, and every human being shown up as a liar, just as it is written: “so that you will be justified in your words and will prevail when you are judged.” Romans 3;4) Our individual fleshly beliefs mean nothing to our Creator. Paul explained it to Timothy.

(“If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, since He cannot deny Himself. Remind people of these things and solemnly charge them before the Lord not to wrangle over words. This is of no benefit; it just brings ruin on those who listen. Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed, teaching the message of truth accurately.” 2 Tim 2:13-15) We’re prayerfully doing just that. Believing IN compels that we wait on God’s promises as did the Patriarchs.
