The Gospel, chapter 14

To: “In Resident Churches of God, all Saints” grace and peace from our God. 10/23/18, God‘s 8th month, Chestven 14, 5779 until sunset.

Among the attributes of God’s spirit in people is the spirit of a sound mind, to be gifted with knowing of the basic characteristics of God. These are found at Heb 1:, John 1:1-5 and Colossians 1:15-20 particularly and from Genesis through Revelations generally. Knowledge that “God knows us better than we can know ourselves.”

(Psalms 94:9-13; “Does the One who makes the human ear not hear?

Does the One who forms the human eye not see? Does the one who disciplines the nations not punish? He is the One who imparts knowledge to human beings! (11) The Lord knows that peoples’ thoughts are morally bankrupt. How blessed is the one whom You instruct, O Lord, the one whom You teach from your law, in order to protect him from times of trouble, until the wicked are destroyed.”) Do study the whole text.

(Heb 4:12-13; “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart. And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must render an account.”)

The Holy Bible is a spiritual book and understood only by those to whom it is gifted. God revealed His characteristic to Paul and he to we followers of Jesus.

(1Cor 1:18-27; “For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us “Christians” who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.” (no matter one’s intellect, God can withhold spiritual understanding) Where is the wise man? Where is the expert in the Mosaic law? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching. For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom, but we “apostles” preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. (24) But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. (26) Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position. But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.”)

When people decide for themselves, what’s good, evil, right and wrong, they unwittingly fall into the same trap Satan laid for Eve and Adam. (Let’s review again. (Genesis 3:2-5; Satan said to the woman, “Is it really true that God said, ‘You must not eat from any tree of the orchard’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit from the trees of the orchard; but concerning the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the orchard God said, ‘You must not eat from it, and you must not touch it, or else you will die.’” The serpent said to the woman, “Surely you will not die, for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will open and you will be like divine beings who know good and evil.”) Our vain minds want to think of ourselves as divine beings. Intellectually capable of deciding for ourselves, what’s right, wrong, good and evil, “thus we in fact make ourselves little gods leading others.

(Gen 3:6-7; “When the woman saw that the tree produced fruit that was good for food, was attractive to the eye, and was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some of it to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”)

Their disobedience caused their innocent believing God outlook to be altered. When people today live as seeming right to themselves and God doesn’t punish, they assume it’s okay. Until tempted, Adam and Eve looked to their Creator as Master and Teacher, “but their creation wasn’t complete.” Neither is ours until gifted with God’s spirit. Gifted with a believing IN spirit. (See John 7:37-39; On the last day of the feast, the greatest day, Jesus stood up and shouted out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me, and let the one who believes in Me drink. Just as the scripture says, ‘From within him will flow rivers of living water.’” (39) (Now He said this about the Spirit, whom those who believed IN Him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

After eating from the forbidden tree Adam and Eve’s minds were opened to self serving vanity, “thoughts regarding what seemed good to their fleshly minds entered.” They became aware of their nakedness. Yielding to what seemed right, brought about God’s promise of eternal death. But God had a plan for a chosen people made in His image. He would not be outdone by the deceiver, “Satan.” A planned way of saving through The Life giver, the sacrifice of His only begotten Son would be for the remission of sin.

(John 3:16-21; “For this is the way God loved the world: He gave His One and only Son, so that everyone who believes IN Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. The one who believes IN him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the One and only Son of God. (19) Now this is the basis for judging: that The Light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil deeds hates the Light and does not come to the Light, so that their deeds will not be exposed. But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God.”)

In keeping with His Sabbath rest principle, it seems God has allotted six thousand years, “for His created people go the way that seemed right to their fleshly minds.” Allowing Satan to be the god of fleshly minded people, “while calling out a predestined people for His name sake and kingdom purpose.” Jesus reveals that Satan knows his time is short. Review Rev 12:12.

Planet earth bears witness of more than one flood. Long before Jesus’ Re-created, Satan had been removed from the heavenly sphere. We don’t know the timing of the flood before Jesus‘ Re-Creation. Just that earth bears witness of pre-historic living creatures, some resembling humans. The holy scriptures chronologies life on earth starting with Adam to be less than six thousand years. According to the Judean calendar we are at about 5,779 years since Adam. They are entrusted with the oracles of God. Jesus’ apostle Paul was inspired to write; (Rom 3:1-4; “Therefore what advantage does the Jew have, or what is the value of circumcision? Actually, there are many advantages. First of all, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God. What then? If some did not believe, does their unbelief nullify the faithfulness of God? Absolutely not! Let God be proven true, and every human being shown up as a liar, just as it is written: “so that you will be justified in your words and will prevail when you are judged.”)

We aren‘t prophets nor do we set dates, we do speculate based on principles God reveals. Chronologically the Judean calendar has the advantage. God shares through Peter that a thousand years is as one day with Him and He rested from His work of creation, making holy the seventh day, for His people.

(2Peter 3:8-9; “Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice, that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like a single day. The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because He does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. (Seemingly, all will be given that opportunity during Jesus’ millennial reign. Study 1Corinthians 15: and review 2Peter 3:10-13.)

Jesus’ next coming will be to bring a time of peace. The holy scriptures teach that the tempter, “Satan” will be bound and a thousand years is allocated to knowledge of God covering as water the sea. Satan will then be loose for a season to serve God’s purpose.

(Rev 20:7-10; “Now when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to bring them together for the battle. They are as numerous as the grains of sand in the sea. They went up on the broad plain of the earth and encircled the camp of the Saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and devoured them completely. (10) And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.”)

Satan knows his fate and we followers of Jesus look forward to his being imprisoned.
