Perpetual Promises, chapter 5
Wednesday, October 30th, 201910/30/19, God’s 8th month, Cheshvan 1/5780.
To: A a called out people living by faith, promises and expectations; in the world but not of the world.
Through the power of God’s gifted Holy Spirit of truth, His love and attributes are imputed to it’s recipients. He can shape individuals as He does nations. He gifts His chosen with a desire to develop Godly attributes, through God the Son ’Jesus’ and “speaks of how, for His purpose to Jeremiah.” This after Israel had broken their covenant promises.
(Jeremiah 18:1-14; The Lord said to Jeremiah: “Go down at once to the potter’s house. I will speak to you further there.” So I went down to the potter’s house and found him working at his wheel. Now and then there would be something wrong with the pot he was molding from the clay with his hands. So he would rework the clay into another kind of pot as he saw fit. (5) Then the LORD said to me, “I, the LORD, say: ‘O nation of Israel, can I not deal with you as this potter deals with the clay? In My hands, you, O nation of Israel, are just like the clay in this potter’s hand.’)
He explains how He uproots and tears down nations. So tell the people of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem this: The LORD says, ‘I am preparing to bring disaster on you! I am making plans to punish you. So, every one of you, stop the evil things you have been doing. Correct the way you have been living and do what is right.’ But they just keep saying, ‘We do not care what You say! We will do whatever we want to do! We will continue to behave wickedly and stubbornly!’”
(13-4; Therefore, the LORD says, “Ask the people of other nations whether they have heard of anything like this. Israel should have been like a virgin. But she has done something utterly revolting! Does the snow ever completely vanish from the rocky slopes of Lebanon? Do the cool waters from those distant mountains ever cease to flow?)
(Jer 18:15-17; But My people have forgotten Me and offered sacrifices to worthless idols! This makes them stumble along in the way they live and leave the old reliable path of their fathers. They have left them to walk in bypaths, in roads that are not smooth and level. So their land will become an object of horror. People will forever hiss out their scorn over it. All who pass that way will be filled with horror and will shake their heads in derision. I will scatter them before their enemies like dust blowing in front of a burning east wind. I will turn my back on them and not look favorably on them when disaster strikes them.”) (The rest of Jeremiah 18: is about him asking God to punish his enemies.)
Generally speaking, physical Israel was never gifted with a spiritual desire to obey, ‘as are people called out and gifted with God’s Holy Spirit of truth through Jesus as are spiritual Israelites.’ Creator Jesus’ shedding His blood for the remission of sins was always the plan for adding to the God family. Shaping people to His spiritual likeness was God’s ultimate plan when creating Adam. Jesus’ followers are being shaped to His likeness. To become holy as He was and Is. To be filled with knowledge grace and mercy. Jesus is; ‘supreme, glorious, divine, sovereign and with God the Father.’
(Gen 1:26; “Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth.”)
God created the human physical body in His image looking forward to ‘ultimately making the way for their being in His likeness spiritually.’(It’s the gifted mystery, the belief IN through Jesus’ faith “not obtainable in this age to people who aren’t Jesus’ Sheep.) (Jesus’ Sheep are those whose names are written in “the Book of the Lamb.”)
Prophecy was gifted to Daniel and recorded for our understanding ‘that a time of atonement ‘at one ment’ and judgment was coming.’
(Daniel 7:9-10; While I “Daniel” was watching, thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days “One who had been living for ever, the Eternal God.” took His seat. His attire was white like snow; the hair of His head was like lamb’s wool. His throne was ablaze with fire and its wheels were all aflame.” (10) A river of fire was streaming forth, proceeding from His presence. Many thousands were ministering to Him; Many tens of thousands stood ready to serve Him. The court convened and the books were opened.”) Likewise David was given the same revelation as recorded in Genesis 1:
(Psalms 8:1-9; “O Lord, our Lord, how magnificent is your reputation throughout the earth! You reveal Your majesty in the heavens above! From the mouths of children and nursing babies You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, so that You might put an end to the vindictive enemy. (3) When I look up at the heavens, which Your fingers made, and see the moon and the stars, which You set in place, Of what importance is the human race, that You should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that You should pay attention to them and make them a little less than the heavenly beings? You grant mankind honor and majesty; You appoint them to rule over Your creation; You have placed everything under their authority, including all the sheep and cattle, as well as the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and everything that moves through the currents of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how magnificent is Your reputation throughout the earth!”)
(Through Jesus’ revelations and teachings His chosen are growing in His likeness, ’the likeness of God.’) Revealed to Isaiah too.
Isaiah 40:12-14; “Who has measured out the waters in the hollow of His hand, or carefully measured the sky, or carefully weighed the soil of the earth, or weighed the mountains in a balance, or the hills on scales? Who comprehends the mind of the Lord, or gives Him instruction as His counselor? From whom does He receive directions? Who teaches Him the correct way to do things, or imparts knowledge to Him, or instructs Him in skillful design?
(40:15-18; “Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales. He lifts the coastlands as if they were dust. Not even Lebanon could supply enough firewood for a sacrifice; its wild animals would not provide enough burnt offerings. All the nations are insignificant before Him; they are regarded as absolutely nothing. To whom can you compare God? To what image can you liken Him?)
(40:19-20; “A craftsman casts an idol; a metal smith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it. To make a contribution one selects wood that will not rot; he then seeks a skilled craftsman to make an idol that will not fall over.)
(40:21-24; “Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told to you since the very beginning? Have you not understood from the time the earth’s foundations were made? He is the One who sits on the earth’s horizon; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers before Him. He is the One who stretches out the sky like a thin curtain, and spreads it out like a pitched tent. He is the One who reduces rulers to nothing; He makes the earth’s leaders insignificant. Indeed, they are barely planted; yes, they are barely sown; yes, they barely take root in the earth, and then He blows on them, causing them to dry up, and the wind carries them away like straw.”)
(40:25-26; “To whom can you compare Me? Whom do I resemble?” says the Holy One. Look up at the sky! Who created all these heavenly lights? He is the One who leads out their ranks; He calls them all by name. Because of His absolute power and awesome strength, not one of them is missing.”)
Jacob - Israel is God’s concern.
(40:27-29; “Why do you say, Jacob, Why do you say, Israel, “The Lord is not aware of what is happening to me, My God is not concerned with my vindication”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is an eternal God, the creator of the whole earth. He does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to His wisdom. He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, He gives renewed energy. Even youths get tired and weary; even strong young men clumsily stumble. But those who wait for the Lord’s help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.”)
The lesson? Look to our Creator, wait on revelation rather than seek a denomination that fits the comfort zone of this world’s system of things. God went on to reveal and Isaiah recorded that God’s mercy is reliable.
(Isaiah 57:15-16; “For this is what the high and exalted One says, the One who rules forever, whose name is holy: “I dwell in an exalted and holy place, but also with the discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the discouraged. (16) For I will not be hostile forever or perpetually angry, for then man’s spirit would grow faint before Me, the life-giving breath I created.”
(57:17-19; “I was angry because of their ‘Israel’s’ sinful greed; I attacked them and angrily rejected them, yet they remained disobedient and stubborn. I have seen their behavior, but I will heal them and give them rest, and I will once again console those who mourn. I am the One who gives them reason to celebrate. Complete prosperity is available both to those who are far away and those who are nearby says the Lord, “and I will heal them.”)
What a future in store that’s not of mankind’s doing, but in spite of. The Psalmist has more to reveal.
Psalms 19:1-7; “The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky displays His handiwork. Day after day it speaks out; night after night it reveals His greatness. There is no actual speech or word, nor is its voice literally heard. Yet its voice echoes throughout the earth; its words carry to the distant horizon. In the sky He has pitched a tent for the sun. (5) Like a bridegroom it emerges from its chamber; like a strong man it enjoys running its course. It emerges from the distant horizon, and goes from one end of the sky to the other; nothing can escape its heat. (7) The law of the Lord is perfect and preserves one’s life.”)
The rules set down by the Lord are reliable and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.” May we realize our fragility and rid ourselves of arrogant vanity. May Satan’s purpose be revealed and may we despise his deceitful ways. Now we plan to take notice that Jesus revealed the same to John that He revealed to Daniel and Isaiah next time.
