People need to know the degree and effort fleshly people go to make gods for themselves as they attempt to worship everything but our Creator.

The pagan world was brought backward by unbelievers who desired to build a universal religion and make merchandise of them. Authentic research is easy. Easter and Christmas originated from pagan philosophy. Easter symbolizes worship of the fertility goddess with rabbits and eggs, while Christmas came from sun and winter equinox worship. Neither have any relationship with the Lord Jesus that delivered Israel though Moses. All paganism is an abomination our law giving creator God. God had Ezekiel write about. TAMMUZ the supposed and imagined god of fertility embodied their view’s power for new life. (The god of fertility came through the Mesopotamian religions.)

The earliest known mention of Tammuz is in texts dating to the early part of the early Dynastic III period, (From 2600 to about 2334 BC, a time of more than 250 years the cult was a major demonic force. The cult is attested by most major cities of Sumer (Modern Iraq) in the 3rd and 2nd millennia BC. Tammuz was essentially a pastoral deity, pagans claiming his father to be (Enki) but rarely mentioned, while the goddess (Duttur) was a personification of the Ewe (a females sheep.) His own name, (Dumu-zid) and two variant designations for him was, (Ama-ga - Mother Milk and U-lu-lu) (Multiplier of  Pasture), suggesting that he actually was the power for everything that a shepherd might wish for, (grass to come up in the desert, healthy lambs to be born, and milk to be plentiful in the mother animals.)

When the cult of Tammuz spread to Assyria in the 2nd and 1st millennia BC, the character of the god seems to have changed from that of a pastoral to that of an agricultural deity. The historical texts suggest that in Assyria (and later among the (Sabaeians) Tammuz was basically viewed as the power in the grain, dying when the grain was milled.

The cult (Tammuz) centered around two yearly festival; one celebrating his marriage to the goddess (Inanna) the other lamenting his death at the hands of demons from the netherworld. During the 3rd Dynasty of Ur (2112 –.2004 BC) in the city of Umma, (modern Tell Jokha) the marriage of the god was dramatically celebrated around February–March, (Umma’s Month of the Festival of Tammuz.)

During the Isin-Larsa period (2004 –.1792 BC), the texts relate that in the marriage rite, the king actually took on the identity of the god and thus, by consummating the marriage with a priestess incarnating the goddess, magically fertilized and fecundated all of nature for the year. (The celebrations in March–April marked the death of the god also seem to have been dramatically performed.)

Many of the laments for the occasion have as a setting a procession out into the desert to the fold of the slain god. In Assyria, however, (in the 7th century BC) the ritual took place in June–July. In the major cities of the realm, a couch was set up for the god upon which he lay in state. His body appears to have been symbolized by an assemblage of vegetable matter, honey, and a variety of other foods.

Among the texts dealing with the god is (Dumuzi’s Dream) a myth telling how Tammuz had a dream presaging his death and how the dream came true in spite of all his efforts to escape. A closely similar tale forms the second half of the Sumerian myth (The Descent of Inanna, in which Inanna (Akkadian: Ishtar sends Tammuz as her substitute to the netherworld.) His sister, (Geshtinanna) eventually finds him, and the myth ends with Inanna decreeing that Tammuz and his sister may alternate in the netherworld, each spending half of the year among the living.

Tammuz’s courtship and wedding was a popular theme for love songs and anecdotal verse compositions that seem to have been used primarily for entertainment. A number of true cult texts, however, follow the rite step by step as if told by a close observer, and many laments were probably performed in the actual rites. Eventually a variety of originally independent fertility gods seem to have become identified with Tammuz. (Tammuz of the cattle herders, whose main distinction from Tammuz the Shepherd was that his mother was the goddess (Ninsun Lady - Wild Cow) and that he himself was imagined as a cattle herder, may have been an original aspect of the god.

A later important fusion was the merger of Tammuz and Damu, a fertility god who probably represented the power in the sap of rising in trees and plants in spring. The relation of still other figures to Tammuz, such as Dummuzi-Apzu — a goddess who appears to have been the power in the waters underground (the Apzu) to bring new life to vegetation—is not entirely clear.

Christendom

Professing Christendom thought it shrewd to incorporate these pagan practices with Judaism and Jesus’ teaching. (Israelites from Moses to present, find themselves yielding to the same practices that’s abominable to God. But modern Christendom would have the world believe that Jesus is different and even rebellious toward God the Father.

So, is the Jesus John quoted, the Sovereign Lord God that seized Ezekiel?” Yes! (Speaking to the quizzing people, Jesus said; “Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness and they died. This is the bread that has come down from heaven, so that a person may eat from it and not die. JOHN 6:49-50)

Unbelieving Christendom has problems with these two verses, not realizing that the Lord God Jesus’ giving manna to Israel 40 years, represents His giving eternal life to believers in Him, and speaking of a first and second death. Paul explains.

(1Cor 15:20-28; But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, (Adam) the resurrection of the dead also came through a man. (Jesus). For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ, the first fruits; then when Christ comes, those who belong to Him. Then comes the end, when He (Jesus) hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when He has brought to an end all rule and all authority and power.) (See Rev 21:8, & 22:25-28)

For He (Jesus) must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be eliminated is death. For He (the Father) has put everything in subjection under His (Jesus’) feet. But when it says “everything” has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the One (God the Father) who put everything in subjection to Him.(28) And when all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will be subjected to the One (God the Father) who subjected everything to Him, so that God may be all in all.)

Truth is; ‘all people have inherited death from Adam.’ Result of disobedience, result of not believing God. All will be made alive in Christ; each in his own order.  Believers in Jesus, in the first resurrection, others in their order, God is orderly.

(Rev 2:11; The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers (overcomes) will in no way be harmed by the second death.)

A second death doesn’t fit this world’s religious teaching about immortality. God’s True and living Christ Like is NOT a religion. It is The Way of God. Christians desire to seek the God of Ezekiel, Moses and Joshua, who was inspired to write.

(Joshua 24:14-15; Now obey the Lord and worship Him with integrity and loyalty. Put aside the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates and in Egypt and worship the Lord. If you have no desire to worship the Lord, choose today whom you will worship, whether it be the gods whom your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But I and my family will worship the Lord!)

(Rev 20:6; Blessed and holy is the one who takes part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with Him for a thousand years.)

After the thousand years, New Jerusalem is coming down and God the Father will be revealed through God the Son again. Remember ‘The Book of Revelations’ is, Revelations of Jesus Christ to John.

(Rev 21:8; But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, idol worshipers, and all those who lie, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. That is the second death.)

Jesus made it clear; ‘No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.’ You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

Be mindful; Jesus’ Good News (Gospel) is offensive to the world at large. Jesus knew it would be, thus He said.

(Luke 12:49-53; I have come to bring fire on the earth – and how I wish it were already kindled! I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is finished! Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? NO, I tell you, but rather division! For from now on there will be five in one household divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.) May we each be blessed to overcome to the end.
